The food was DELICIOUS, delectable and we were pleased with our orders. Although I frequent this neighborhood regularly, I never eaten here until today because my son and I were hungry after a great workout. It was very dark inside of the restaurant and since I was there during the afternoon, it was strange to me. My son chose to have oxtails with rice and peas with small serving of red beans added to his order. I chose to have baked chicken breast with rice and peas. My son sat in the car and ate his food and was happy with his food. I've eaten at several Spanish restaurants which were really good and now I'm pleased to add Primavera as one of my new favorite restaurants to dine at. read more

This used to be a favorite spot of mine whenever I wanted to splurge a bit. They used to offer a plate called the "Picadera Mixta" which was a full plate of all type of meats cooked in different styles, a ton of fried cheese balls and then a seperate container filled to the brim of Plantains. Over the years the price has gone up (which is understandable) but the food quality and quality never dipped. Until today. I last ordered just over a month ago, so this is a pretty recent change, but today when I ordered they had consolidated the two plates into 1 plate of the same size. At least two types of meat (out of the original 7 or 8 that they offered) were no longer in the plate, about 2/3 of the fried cheese was gone, and the plantains was now the majority of the plate itself. A pretty horrible deal for the same price of 20$ that it used to be. I contact grubhub who contacts them and they said that's how they make it now. No change in description, no change in price, no call to inform that half the food that was there before is gone. Then when discussion went to refund/discounts since we had no idea they changed their quantity and quality they said "we don't deal with grubhub issues on the weekends; call back during the week". 2.5 stars Ordered 2 cheese pastelitos, a side of arroz y habichuelas, small chicken soup and chicken mofongo. The pastelitos and chicken soup were good but the mofongo and side of arroz y habichuelas was not good! I'm so confused as to how this place has such good yelp reviews. My ex is Dominican and I've been to DR a few times so I know how Dominican food is supposed to taste. This food lacked flavor and my mofongo has a lot of little chicken bones in it. Since we live nearby, my gf and I decided to order take out from this place. The restaurant itself is nestled next to a laundromat with the inside of the restaurant being pretty dark and lots of seating available. We ordered 2 empanadas, fried chicken and spicy steak as well as sweet plantains. The wait for the food was reasonable as I could see the chef in the back making everything fresh. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! Has a very home cooked feel to it. We thoroughly enjoyed our food but midway through we realized that they had forgotten to give us the sweet plantains....and we love sweet plantains so that was pretty disappointing. Ordered from them for the first time last night and I have to say that this place is on point. Before moving to Brooklyn I lived in West New York, New Jersey where I would walk 2 blocks to Centro Latino II and get real deal, home made Cuban and Colombian food or stroll down Berginline Ave to Dos Amigos Restaurant for a pretty good Cuban or steak sandwich. Oh and I can't leave out my Dominican peeps, Casita Criolla was just a short walk away from my apartment. I've tried a few places in Sunset Park but nothing seemed fresh.The food from Primavera Restaurant reminded me of my old hood. A big plus, they deliver. I will order from them again. read more

I'm home, sick (boo!) and felt like trying something new. I found this restaurant on Yelp and began to check out the menu. I stumbled across a special for a rotisserie chicken, rice and beans, salad and a 1 liter soda for ~$19. Sweet deal right?! So, I placed my order using Yelp with the $2 weekend coupon of course ;) About 10 minutes later I receive a call from the venue requesting clarification of my address! The woman on the other end was not the friendliest person I have ever spoken to but that's ok. I received my order in ~30 minutes! GREAT! BUUUUUUT I requested a diet coke but received regular coke and the salad did not come with any dressing! (sigh) Using the online customer service for Eat24/Yelp I told them the problem and they attempted to resolve the issue. I was not able to receive any kind of refund from the restaurant but Yelp refunded the tip I gave and provided another coupon. A few moments after, the woman from the restaurant called and said "the reason I gave you coke is because we don't have diet coke" to which I said "you probably should have told me that when you called the first time." She then begrudgingly apologized. About the food: The salad was enough for only one person and was simply ice berg lettuce with a few sliced tomatoes (no dressing) The rotisserie chick was pieced and was tender and juicy Large serving of white rice along with the beans in a separate container was just "ok" could have had more flavor I was going back and forth between a 2 and 3 on this review...hopefully you can see why read more

On top of being called a hoodlum by a hoodlum with no customer service skills, it's sad that you can't call up a restaurant when they in fact made the error of not sending what you asked for. Sad that they could not accept the error. Should have went with the reviews and with my gut when I went to order. I am not the type to write reviews but since my night and meal was ruined by the food and service I felt the need to spread the word. Ordered from Primavera for the first time tonite. I ordered 1 chicken sandwich, 1 order of tostones, a can of coke. I placed my order at 930pm. At 1045pm my food still had not arrived. I called the restaurant-NO ANSWER. Called again at 11pm, i let it ring for 5 mins, a woman answered. She was very rude & said it was "not her problem & did not know where the delivery guy was", i asked her if she could call him, since its was 1 hour & a half by now & SHE HUNG UP! Really? So i called back, NO ANSWER! I gave up. At 1230 the (ice cold)food showed up. I will never give this business my money again after this horrible experience. read more

Do not come to this restaurant - the woman at the front counter is absolutely horrible. As soon as I walked in I knew this was a bad idea. Came here on a Monday night at 7pm and it's pitch black with weird lighting and a disco ball, no AC, hot and humid. The food at the counter looked sad, so I asked if I could order off menu and she the woman just rudely shrugged and pointed at the menu. Since it's cash only my husband went to use their in store ATM - it gave us only half the amount and instead of trying to help us find a solution the woman just said that they don't own the ATM or that they probably didn't take the money out if our bank account. I have had this place with my wife several times. We have had it delivered and ate in the restaurant, and it is delicious. The food is extremely tasty. The mofongo is absolutely one of the best out there, the Cuban sandwich is pretty authentic, and the beans are the perfect addition to dishes. This is one of our favorite places to eat. Be aware that if you eat in the restaurant, it is cash only, but well worth it as they play great music, let the lights dim, and make you want to dance before your meal arrives. If you choose to get delivery, make sure you call them and have cash on hand. There have been way too many issues when ordering online with them. So, make sure beware of that. read more

So deliciously amazing. I've been meaning to stop by, but hadn't had cash on me until yesterday (a Sunday). I totally scored by arriving near the beginning of lunch. Everything in the heat table looked fresh and tempting. I didn't notice any customers and I didn't have to wait. The lunch plate was so affordable that when I got home to eat, I was confused about why. The rice was really well flavored. The pernil was amazingly juicy, and the beans were also great. Can I give them NO stars?! I ordered baked chicken with yellow rice and peas, and the guy showed up with white rice. I didn't immediately eat dinner because I was waiting for my husband to come home because he was working the overnight shift to pack some to go before he left. When we finally opened the bag, that's when we noticed. So I called them to let them know and asked for the yellow rice. You know this rude broad had the audacity to tell me that I had to give her back the white rice in order for her to bring me yellow rice AND I have to wait for her delivery guy for another hour. I was like, "I already waited an hour for your food and it's now 10PM, I'm hungry right now and I can't eat because you made a mistake?" And she's like, "There is nothing I can do about that - you have to give me back the white rice." Meanwhile, I paid a delivery fee of $1.80 - so you mean to tell me, I pay a delivery fee, you get the food wrong, you're rude AND I have to give you back WHITE rice?! So she's getting what's LEFT of the white rice and I really wish they would say something to me when the guy gets here because I'm hungry and I paid a delivery fee, you get what is left. Ya'll need to get your customer service together, because I will NEVER order from you AGAIN just for that - over a freakin $1 of white rice! You're gonna lose $20 an order of $2 of white rice, dummies! This restaurant used to be called gran prestigio. They used to have the best oxtail . They no longer serve oxtail but their food is not bad. They have homemade Dominican food at decent prices and they deliver. read more

Pretty good delivery time! Food was tasty and hardy! I had the shrimp mofongo. It had well blended flavor and it hit the spot for sure. They did mess up on the order; It was something minor and It took two attempts to explain the problem, but they kindly acknowledge the mistake and corrected it immediately.
