I visited Prime 36 a few weeks ago for my best friend's engagement dinner. It's located inside a cute, old Victorian home with a lot of charm and character. We were seated in a private room for about 25 guests. Appetizers for the table included clams orreganata, tomato and mozzarella, fried calamari, and a small salad before entrées. For my entrée, I had the cajun salmon with a potato croquette and mixed vegetables. We had a cake for dessert but the wait staff also offered tiramisu and cannolis. Everything was fresh and delicious. I especially enjoyed the salmon entree. The wait staff was very accommodating and attentive. They were constantly refilling water and asking if we wanted any drinks from the bar. In front of the restaurant, there is a large patio with seating for outdoor diners. To the left, there is a small parking lot on the property. There's also an inn upstairs for overnight guests. I'm surprised that Prime 36 doesn't have a higher rating because I thought it was excellent and plan to be back! read more

This was our first time at prime 36 and we did have a great time. The inside does not look anything like the outside. The food was fantastic chicken parm was very flavorful. The fried calamari was cooked perfectly with a very light breading that let the calamari really speak. I had the risotto funghi filletto which was very flavorful packed in every bite to be honest my least favorite part of was the filet pieces they were less to be desired the rest of the dish really carried the steak. As for my absolute favorite was the baked clams I find a really good baked clams very hard to find. And it was flavor packed in every half shell. As for the service our server was amazing. He was so nice and you can tell had decades of experience. We spoke as if we knew each other for years he was huge part of why our night was so great. read more

This restaurant is located about 40mins away from me. I'll definitely return to try some other dishes though! Made reservations, but we arrived a little bit early which wasn't a problem & was seated. Greeted upon arrival & taken to a table. You can tell there is history within the warwick inn where the restaurant is located in. But I didn't see much information posted around(maybe I bypassed it).Beautiful simple decor throughout the restaurant. Our waiter Dave was very attentive & helpful as well as all the staff checking in on us. The complimentary bread was great with a delicious oil. The lamb was so tender with a delicious sauce. Brought here by our daughters and grandsons to celebrate my wife and I 45th wedding anniversary. This was my first time visiting this establishment but won't be my last. This restaurant has an elegant but family kind of vibe. The staff is top notch, the owner and chef make you feel like old friends. Our server was great and the young man who filled our water glasses and cleared our dishes after apps was the best. He came over each time our glasses were half full and made sure we always were hydrated. Now on to the food , the rack of New Zealand lamb was great the lamb literally cut like butter and the potato croquette was a nice accompaniment. The side order of macaroni and cheese was fantastic with a wonderful cheese crust topping. My family had no complaints at all from wifey's salmon to Grandson surf and turf from risotto to chicken parm, you would have a hard time not finding anything on this menu to satisfy your taste buds. Once I told chef Ponch it was our anniversary he brought out this fantastic tiramisu. Now I've had tiramisu many times and always found the espresso flavor to be a little too strong but this one is the best I've ever had. When I complimented chef, he said his wife made it again. You can't be the tiramisu here all in all. It was a fantastic evening and a fantastic meal. I highly recommend prime 36. My friend and I came here for lunch. I absolutely love coming here. There food is always very delicious. I absolutely love their bread and along with their delicious sauce for the bread. This time around I decided to get the Chicken Francesca which was very delicious. I decided to get it with the potatoe croquet and the fresh vegetables. The service was amazing. The waiter gave us a lot of time to come back and wait until we decided to have what we want. What we also loved that we were able to sit there and talk and not get rushed out. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and were asked if we cared to sit outside. Being it was a beautiful day, we thought it would be nice to enjoy the fine weather. A loaf of delicious Italian bread was brought to our table with a side of sauce. Two of ordered the chicken Parmesan, one ordered linguine with red clam sauce and our other guest ordered the chicken Milanese. Sadly, the clam sauce was little more than red oil with the clams completely overcooked and rubbery. The chicken Parmesan was okay, however, the potato croquette and green beans were not much of an accompaniment. The chicken Milanese was good, the salad on top though took away and crispness. 4 people, 4 entrees, 3 soft drinks and 3 beers were over $250. We stopped at Prime 36 on a Saturday. We weren't sure we were going to stay, but just wanted to check it out. We asked to see a menu. Next thing I knew, a waiter was walking past us carrying bread and water and telling us to sit down at a table. He abruptly put the bread in the water on the table, so I guess that was for us. We thought it was a little odd but charming. Decided to give it a shot. To be honest, the location is very beautiful, but that first interaction set the tone for the afternoon lunch. Brand new place in Warwick NY (previously the location of The Warwick Inn), which recently opened after FULL (gorgeous) renovation. My husband and I came in here on a Friday night hoping for a table, and luckily they had one available, despite us not having a reservation! We ordered drinks, and were immediately given a bread basket with cheese/pickles/olives (LOVE that they do this - I think restaurants should do this more often). The bread was super fresh, and the sun dried tomato oil we were given was SUPER tasty - my only comment? Don't put it on my own bread plate - instead - give us a plate to share the oil so we can use our bread plates for ... bread. For appetizers, we started with the Smoked Nova Scotia Salmon and Tuna Tartar - honestly, both were tasty, the salmon wasn't over smoked and both dishes were fresh... but they both desperately needed seasoning (aka salt). Next, we each had the Center Cut Filet - mine was a perfect Medium Rare, and my husband's was also Medium Rare ... except he ordered his Rare. The steaks were seasoned perfectly and tasted delicious. Only issue? No sauces (chimichuri, bernaise, bordelaise, etc)... if you're a steakhouse, gimme alllllll the sauces. The sides though ... those were amazing. Garlic Mash was perfectly mashed - little lumps (love them!), and not too garlicky. Onion Rings were addictingly good - a thousand of those, please. Asparagus Parm - holy heck they were flavorful and cooked perfectly - not mushy at all. We didn't take part in any desserts, but I love that they're all made in-house. 4 Stars because: 1- give me a designated oil plate with bread 2- season the appetizers 3- sauces for the steak! and make them homemade! read more

Went for a business dinner on a non-weekend evening. Ambiance felt disjointed. You walk into this historic home-like building, but past the foyer/entry area is this completely different vibe with lit marble bars, crystal accents, kind of gaudy/fancy/Italian-y? Not bad, but weird visual journey/juxtaposition. We were seated way in the back near the fire place which was nice. Table setting was minimal and tastefully LED "candlelit". Unfortunately there was a large party of Warwick "bros" seated behind us. They were the absolute most obnoxiously loud tables I've ever experienced in an otherwise quiet dining room with other patrons respectfully conversing. We had to shout at each other at our own table to be heard. Our waitress just apologized repeatedly and assured us they were leaving, but they were there well beyond being finished eating. Hoped higher management might ask them to quiet down or leave after a while, but no. Anyway, food was decent but not amazing. I had the carbonara dish. Good flavor but seemed to be lacking traditional elements. I also had the house made pistachio ice cream. Holy cow, that was amazing. I've never had it where it was the color of the actual nut - always an unreal green color. This was a wonderful natural taupe, full of nuts and sweet creamy flavor. The best I've ever had. I would say this place was a 4 if not for the terrible guests near us. I might give it another chance if work was footing the bill again, or if I'm ever craving pistachio ice cream again. read more

Valentine's Day was made absolutely memorable here with impeccable service by Ariella. She made sure our dining experience was perfect for our romantic night. The food was marvelous. The steak was perfect! But just when we thought everything could not get any better, the tres leches cake made its appearance and it was heaven! Food, the portions are small for the extremely high prices. My filet which I ordered medium was charred on the outside and tasted burnt. My boyfriend's lamb was very very thin and overdone, we figured they sliced the lamb chops in half. Service was very good but it's not enough to make us go back unfortunately. I called in to confirm verbally a dining reservation I made for my guests at our resort and found the waiter/host/whomever he was, very Rude, very short as well as Rude again! I had instructions/special requests for the reservation I made, which he had no interest in taking my requests just that "he heard me", really, now do you hear me? You are rude and I will think twice before suggesting Prime 36 to any of our guests again. My husband and I went out to Prime 36 last Friday for their Valentine's Day dinner special. We have eaten here many times before with no issues, but Friday was different. Our table was in the corner and I understand how many restaurants add tables in order to accommodate more people, but our table was right next to the kitchen with no light or any decor on the table. Of course I didn't notice, but the couple next to us mentioned it and we laughed it off. When you're paying $115 pp not including drinks I would appreciate some romantic ambience. When we sat down we ordered our drinks and our appetizers, everything was going well until our main course came out. My husband ordered the NY Strip which was absolutely delicious. However, my Surf and Turf was not as good. The lobster tail was very good, but when I tried a bit of the filet it was freezing. The inside was pink and perfect medium rare, but it was freezing to the touch. Another couple was getting up to leave and she noticed I was touching the middle of the steak with my finger she asked me if it was cold and I shook my head yes and she said ours was, too. When the waitress came back over I told her it was cold and I could not eat it, she brought it back to the kitchen for it to be warmed up. When the steak returned the plate was on fire and the steak was grey. It looked like the steak had been completely killed by a microwave. At this point my husband and I finished his steak when we realized we never received our drinks. The manager was walking around and we told him we never received our drinks and he quickly went to get them. I always give restaurants the benefit of the doubt because I have worked in them before and I hope this was only due to the busy evening. read more

The location of this restaurant is beautiful. We stopped in, but we just wanted to look at the menu first. We were asked to take a seat while doing this and then all of a sudden, bread and water was arriving immediately. It was a little bit awkward because we weren't thinking of staying here for lunch. The menu was much more of a dinner type of a menu with prices to match, but we felt committed (almost immediately) and did not want to be rude. It's a beautiful house on a very park-like setting. And we were lucky to be able to sit outside on a gorgeous day for lunch. There were a series of misunderstandings from the beginning, though. First, we were looking at the menu, and then just asking some questions about how some of the food was prepared. Just standard stuff, like what some entrées come with, as it was not spelled out on the menu. I think the two different servers we had took this as we were being difficult, so it felt weird because that wasn't the case at all. We could not have been kinder. One of the entrées came with sides that a person in our party did not care for, yet they offered side dishes on their menu. When he asked if these could potentially be swapped out, he was flat out told "no, that is what it comes with." OK, no problem and we just ordered the desired side addition to that entrée. After a little while, when the food arrived, and we were asked how everything was or if we need anything else, I asked about the side dish that was missing. One of our waiters (older Italian gentleman who would not even look at me when I asked something earlier) turned to me in a very accosting tone and said "it's coming, it's coming. Just wait. Wait." I was very embarrassed by this as I was just inquiring for the people in my party I was treating out to lunch. If they didn't want to know, and I was so polite in how I asked, why did they bother to ask if everything was OK or if we needed anything else? I didn't feel like saying a word the rest of the meal and it kind of ruined the experience for me because it wasn't enjoyable after that. I was mortified and my guests picked up on it. Everybody in my party thought their food was good, but on the salty side. I felt the same way about my entrée. The owner himself was walking around and greeting people. He was very nice. Overall, the price for the whole lunch was reasonable, if not on the higher side and none of us had alcohol, but the whole experience felt very rushed and unsettling. I would not return here. Don't waste your money!! If you're looking for a Steakhouse this isn't it. No comparison to the Prime in Mahwah or any of the River Palms. The filet mignon (supposedly 8oz for $60) was overcooked, tasted like meatloaf and minuscule in size. I asked for Bearnaise Sauce (to try and save the filet) and the waiter looked at me like I had three heads. The "charcuterie"board was below average...basically some "cold cuts" thrown on a wooden cutting board. Unimaginative with no flavor. The service was subpar..very green and the maitre d aloof. Very pretty restaurant and bar, however, they had singer accompanied by a guitarist who was way too loud for the very small dining room. Horrible acoustics. We couldn't hear each other talk. Needless to say it was not a great experience. So disappointing. I was really looking forward to having an awesome steakhouse in our town.
