The kitchen was out of numerous items. Food and wine. There was an extremely loud table with ten extremely drunk and over served people. We were seated right next to them and asked to move. We were moved to the other side of the restaurant where it was hardly any different. All other people dining were quite annoyed. The server apologized and said he understood. When leaving the manager apologized and stated that they are not kids and shouldn't be acting like that. That's it. I have had the filet there many times and it has always been wonderful. We had my husbands birthday/family dinner 06/29/25. My husband ordered the New York strip with a loaded baked potato. Both were cold. My son ordered the mashed potatoes and they were cold as well. There are 3 different areas online that give 3 different hours of operation. We have gone every year for his birthday for the last 3 years. Every year has been bad. We will not be returning until we hear that there is new chefs.....and I use chef loosely. read more

My friends and I went here while we were visiting town, we are not from the area. It started off horrible, we waited 15 minutes just for our server to come greet our table, we ordered food and she called us broke as we were ordering, our food took over an hour and it came it wrong, each side was wrong. Our checks were messed up as well, they tried to charge us an extra 60 dollars for no reason. The atmosphere was okay, but they sat us at a table with little space and we had 2 6'3 men with us so it wasn't a good spot for us. My friends and I are younger but we all run our own business and travel for work so we wanted a nice dinner. 0 stars if I could. read more

Second visit and this was not as good as our first visit. To ambiance is great with a good view of the lake. The service and main dishes were poor. We ordered a bottle of wine. The selection was good and prices were fair. The waiter brought wine glasses but both were dirty. After pointing it out, he replaced them and we thought minor service blip. We ordered an appetizer, the tuna tartar, which comes with crostini. The app came out looking great, but the waiter doesn't bring the crostini. We ask him to bring some and he brings two, which wouldn't scratch the surface of helping to finish the appetizer. He also doesn't bring appetizer plates...we were a bit surprised. We ordered steak and lamb. The wife asked hers to be medium and I asked mine to be medium rare. Both came out rare and cold. The lamb had more fat that wasn't trimmed away than meat. The sides were good, but that was it. All in all, for the price you pay you expect more. read more

Made an 8 o'clock reservation for my wife and I's once-a-month date night. In our mid 20's, so a fancy meal is a big deal that we work hard all month to celebrate. We show up at 7:55 and don't get seated until 8:45 with no explanation of when we will be seated. They seat us at what they called the "Mezzanine". It was not a table, but rather a bar, the server asked if one of us could sit down on the lower level across from my wife. I sit down and the table is at my shoulders and i'm looking up at my wife whose sitting 2 feet higher up then me... but at this point just happy to be seated. 9:00 we finally order appetizers and our meal. We are by no mean food snobs, and this is the first bad review I've ever left at a restaurant because I want people to aware before they spend their hard earned money on garage. Brussel spouts I rate 3/10 $18 - Crazy salty, and not fully cooked which left them very hard. Focaccia bread- 10/10, $6 and is honestly the only thing I'd ever order if I went back, which i won't. 8 oz Sirloin steak ordered medium- 4/10 $58 my wife ate around the outside but the middle was RARE RARE, we have never send food back and we were going to send the steak back, but we didn't see a server for the rest of the meal. we were just over it all and ready to cut our losses. Tuna steak- 2/10 $36, Way over cooked and no seasoning. No pink to the tuna steak and was so bland... I could only choke down half of it, i felt like i was eating canned cat food... With one glass of wine, tax and tip out total was $170. We were treated by the wait staff worse then I've ever been treated at even a cheap chain restaurant like Applebees, or Olive Garden etc. Might be up there for one of the worst meals I've ever eaten at a restaurant. One in our party of 5 received their tuna entree before any other appetizers or salads came to the table. We'd been eating heavy so we stuck with lighter options. Crab salad arrived dry with no sauce. Tuna tartare was accompanied by hard avocado chunks. Ordered truffle fries that never arrived. Calamari was dark brown and extra crunchy. Chocolate cake was a big hit though. And the summer view over the lake is always nice. Way too much to spend on mediocre food coming out of the kitchen at an uneven pace. read more

We dined at the restaurant on 5/23/25. There were only about 15-20 people in the restaurant when we were there and arrived around 5 pm. Server was polite and the restaurant had a great view of the lake. I had ordered the Filet cooked medium with whipped potatoes and my wife ordered the Sea Bass. The entrees did not include a salad or bread even though they were priced at $60. When the food arrived after nearly 50 minutes, I immediately checked my steak. It was cooked well-done instead of medium and it was server with a baked potato instead of the whipped potatoes. The waiter apologized and stated that the potato was his mistake and said he would have the steak redone. The Sea Bass was overdone but my wife was very hungry so she ate it anyway. After an additional 25 minutes the waiter stopped back and said it would not be too much longer for the re-fired filet. He also said that he would provide 2 desserts or comp the drinks on the ticket. I informed him that he could box 2 Tiramisu desserts to go. I cancelled the filet order and asked for the check. The couple at the table next to us had ordered a filet cooked medium also and she received her steak well done, but ate it anyway because she was hungry. When he brought the check, there were charges for the desserts that I brought to his attention so he had to run the check again. I paid the check and for the first time ever, I left a ZERO tip! One overdone Sea Bass, 2 glasses of wine, and an Iced tea for a hundred dollars. I had to go to McDonalds and get a sandwich and fries because I was starving. First and last time at this restaurant. After working 11 hours, I need to go back to my hotel to finish my charting. I called to place a Togo order. I was put off n hold and then told they do not do Togo orders. We went here in July 2022. After coming to the lakes for years, we were happy to find this place and it was the best food we have had in the lake. We had a party of 6 and had to split into two tables because we didn't have reservations, but the kids probably liked that better anyway. I had fish and my wife had a soup and salad. Had a wonderful dinner with friends on 7/30/2022, beautiful view of the lake from this restaurant. Dinner started well, but went south quickly when our waitress, who was new, forgot to put our order in. Once this was discovered, the manager quickly came to the rescue, taking over serving us and more than making up for his staff's error. My Cosmopolitan was large and perfectly mixed, our salads were also large and flavorful. I had the filet and twice baked potato (which was a meal in itself). My steak was cooked to perfection (a little under medium). One of my friends had the pork chop, it was the largest pork chop I've ever seen and she said it was as delicious as it was large, she couldn't finish it. With all the staffing issues going on these days, it is understandable things will come up when new employees are being trained. How management handled the issue once brought to their attention was what was most memorable. Make sure to make a reservation as this is a smaller sized restaurant and a MUST if you are looking for a wonderful dinner when visiting Lake Okoboji! read more
