Don't agree to anything, call you insurance to check if what they say is indeed covered. They are out of network, so bill may be well above than what they tell you. Details: Was client for many years, service was all right and they were in the insurance network. This year I was recommended to do a procedure that was promised by Dr. Ma to be covered by the insurance 100%. When asked the from desk multiple times about insurance coverage I received same answer, insurance coverage 100%. They even printed a treatment plan that was showing zero out of pocket. Soon after a bill for $500+ arrived. Prime Dental Care said "We are sorry, insurance charged and you signed the papers." Of course insurance charged, because they are out of network now. They didn't even bother to check when printing their treatment plan and kept saying "zero out of pocket." This is indeed shady billing practice. read more

This dental practice is ok, just always be alert and aware that they may charge you for extra services you don't need. My HMO only covers two cleanings a year so I was well aware that when I went for the third cleaning I will only pay $169. Lo and behold at checkout I was asked to pay $377! The extra charge was for pictures taken after the cleaning. I was not informed that those pictures will cost me and that they are not covered by my insurance. Before I left I was asked if I want to schedule a fourth cleaning for the year, that is after three months. I told the lady to just move the cleaning to next year as I suspect they will find a way to charge me more than just for the actual cleaning. I left the clinic feeling like I was robbed! My family has been treated at Prime Dental Care for the past 3 years. I had such a good appointment today and realized I had not yet written a review (despite already reviewing Midpoint Grill next to them!) My husband, who has never had cavities, gets his cleanings done here. My daughter has completed Invisalign treatment. And I've had the works, having the worst teeth... 2 root canals, 2 crowns, and multiple cavities. When I had my crown done today, there were extra precautions taken with all staff wearing full PPE, no guests in the waiting area, and limited appointments. Dr. Ma was very light with her hands, and I had no pain or discomfort during the process. I got to see my crown being made in the 3D printer, which brings me to the best part about Prime Dental... it is not just modern, not just state of the art, but it's the future! They have methods still unheard of in other practices (you can look under "technology" on their website). Also, the rest of the staff is stellar. as someone who has had her teeth described as "a patchwork quilt of fillings and decay" and "a D- if I had to give teeth a grade" by dentists in the past, I've had more than my fair share of dentists. and at Prime, I've never had more thorough, more caring, and more dedicated dentists and hygeniests. Everyone remembered my name, my issues, and sat with me for hours investigating my problems and working WITH me to solve them. They made me feel like a priority, not just another patient to rush through. for the first time in my life, I felt like I found a dental office who truly cares! All other reviews were fabricated. Prime Dental folks make you wait for at least 45 minutes. They force you to take Invisalign, despite you have any issue. I had to remove myself and my family from this practice. They had noticeably shady billing practices. Many "miscellaneous" charges and recommendations for questionable services (eg. antibiotic gels or rinses). I recommend finding another dentist in Montgomery. Dr. Ma is hands-down, without a doubt, the best dentist I have ever had. After my first visit I couldn't stop yammering on about how skillful and attentive she was. People must have thought I was nuts. I always assumed that "finesse" was lost on the dental profession, but Dr. Ma is a true artist. My entire life I dreaded the dentist, but now I practically enjoy going. I know, it sounds crazy. She has the most magical equipment - you don't even feel pain! Her office is futuristic, comfortable, spotless, and serene. Literally, it's like a dental spa - you watch Netflix and the chair massages you as you're getting the procedure done. The customer experience is remarkable - everything from the website, to the waiting room, to the paperwork, to scheduling appointment, and making payments. I found Dr. Ma because I was in pain. Excruciating pain. The kind that's generally followed by a root canal kind of pain. I'd been awake for two days trying to power through, but by the third night I was delirious. I just started a new Job in Princeton, and my designated HMO dentist didn't open until 10am. I did some searching online and found that Dr. Ma opened at 7am. I read some reviews; I gained some confidence when saw she has a PhD in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins and a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from NYU. I loved that I could fill out all the paperwork online and submit electronically. When I arrived at her office, there was nothing to do but start stopping the pain. Now I have to say, I am not an easy customer. I have had terrible experiences in the past which have left me teeeeeerrified of dentists. Have to say though, these ladies are fantaaastic and restore my faith in dentistry. They are kind, explain things, take it slow, stop if you ask and do everything to make you feel at ease. I have had four crowns placed at other dentist offices and the experience has been painful. In the past, the procedure was painful, my jaw hurt afterwards and the dentist left me w all sorts of painful scratches in my mouth, also in the past I had approx two months worth of after pain and an abcess. These ladies were fantastic. Explained everything to me, showed me everything, explained what I could do so that my jaw did not hurt, I left w.o. any sores in my mouth, my jaw did not hurt and the crown felt great from day one. Ladies, I still do not like going to the dentist, but your kind smiles, expertise, netflix, sunglasses, extra care sure take away the worst of ut all. read more

I had an cleaning appointment with Katie. We started the appointment on time and she was warm when greeting me. She walked me through my insurance and offered honest option about my treatment. The cleaning was done very efficiently and I didn't feel any uncomfortableness. It was a great experience and my teeth felt really clean. While at first I was so excited to have found a dentist that could take an emergency on a Saturday afternoon, I was soon disappointed with my follow up appt 3 days later. When I returned to have the procedure done, I felt as though Dr Ma was pressuring me to do a procedure I may not need. She became upset that I was not on the same page with her proposed treatment plan. I was at her office for over two hours for a dental extraction and temporary crown which felt awful in my mouth. When I was leaving she told me to eat only soft foods on that side due to the temporary...for THREE months. Dr. Ma is very thorough and intelligent, but recommended me (and my wife) plenty of services we didn't need. I saw Dr. Ma for 5 years (2015-2019) for Invisalign and will say that I am happy with the outcome. Having said that, my first visit she told me I had 8+ teeth where enamel was so poor I needed to buy her $30 bottle of toothpaste. I didn't think too much of it, but when my wife visited for an exam later on Dr. Ma said she had 4 cavities. Upon returning to our regular dentist, I had no significant enamel issues (just recommended Sensodyne), and my wife had only 1 cavity. After that I made it very clear we were happy with our dentist, yet on almost every visit I was asked by her staff if I had my cleaning done yet or if I'd like to schedule one. My wife gets anxiety if I even mention Dr. Ma because of what happened, and that was years ago. I could add plenty of other examples - but I'll stop and just say this place is more like a used car dealership - you can't trust them. read more

Save your teeth and go to a dentist who advocates for less intervention! If you want a friendly and efficient practice, where the default for all problems is root canal - this is the place for you. If you are looking for a lot of intervention, even with healthy teeth, choose this dentist. I recommend that you read and study alternatives to root canal, and the possible complications and side effects, before entering this practice. You should also google and find that an X-Ray alone cannot determine that root canal is necessary. Neither can the amount or absence of pain. I was utterly distraught with Dr. Ma's diagnosis: she said my only alternative to root canal was pulling out the molar. She efficiently scheduled the procedure for two days after the diagnosis, assuring me that this was a routine procedure involving no pain. Fortunately, I googled and inquired, and learned that before rushing to a very costly and irreversible procedure like this, one can ask for a second opinion. I found a highly recommended dentist, who advocates for less intervention if possible, and who was willing to clean the tooth and reconsider the diagnosis. He ended up putting in a big filling. After more than a year the tooth is doing very well. I saved my molar + a lot of money. When I called back the office, two months after my initial appointment, they argued that "knowing the possible complications, root canal is the safest alternative". Safest? Yes, for the pocket of the dentist! Let me add I decided to write the review after hearing another unhappy patient, who was advised to do root canal at this practice, and things went badly. read more

Dr Ma and staff were courteous,knowledgable and takes time to explain to you on what happen and why you need to do. On top of that the office is top notch.
