Still, I returned for another Saturday morning HIIT class this week, but I added a visit to Moov Labs for a post work-out recovery. Truly a remarkable experience. I did a 20 minute red light session and, to my shock and delight, my body has not punished me at all since my workout. My wife even told me that I seemed more cheerful and positive, as apparently, I have been much more unpleasant for the 30 years before discovering red light therapy. Moov offers Cryotherapy, Cold Plunges, Red Light Therapy, Compression Therapy, Infrared Saunas, and I am sure a lot of things that I do not recall and would not really understand even if I did recall them. I hope to try all of them, except the cryotherapy and cold plunges because they scare me. Located at the back of Xymogym, in a peaceful, darkened space designed for calm and comfort, Moov is a great resource and one worth checking out. Both Xymogym and Moov currently participate in the Class Pass program, so it is a convenient way to combine two venues, if you have Class Pass. Quality of care is excellent, and Joel (the owner) took the time to chat with me and to explain things to me before I started. I'll be back!

I arrived early for an 11am appointment. I was admitted to the red light therapy room about 10 minutes late, which I felt was reasonable. The location has only one red light therapy room, however, so I believe that the person with an appointment after me had to wait about 15 minutes longer than scheduled, and the person after that about 20 minutes. Scheduling is an opportunity for improvement. The Red Light Therapy is offered using an eight panel, dual directional set up, in a private room. It worked well, and I liked being able to have my audio-book playing in the background. Standing during red light therapy was a new experience for me, and I think it would have been tedious if I had not had my audio book playing. The standing therapy is effective, but it is not as relaxing as lie-flat red light beds.

As a walk in, that was my decision. The second time I made an appointment in advance, and arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled time. After 20 minutes I hadn't been taken to the dressing room yet so I let the attendant know I had a somewhere else to be an hour after my scheduled appointment. About 10 minutes later they took me to my dressing room. I then waited in that room for about 10 minutes listening to a large group of people who were also waiting to do cryo. I ended up leaving without my treatment because I couldn't wait any longer. All in all what should have been 30 minutes total (including driving) ended up being a 2 hour waste of my day. I'd say check it out if you like cryo, but only when you have plenty of time.

I had major tension in my lower back and right leg on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, I checked the therapists available for Monday. I noticed Marc was a deep tissue expert. I booked an appointment and was so happy I did! I even added an additional 30 minutes to my appointment, after the first 60 minutes, based on his technique and precision. I was lucky that he had the next hour available. He worked with me throughout the session to ensure I was comfortable with the pressure and the areas worked on. I walked out feeling great! I even stopped by to talk to the manager, Jean Paul, and complemented him on another great employee on his staff. I've been going to this Massage Envy location for 20 years and I continue to be pleased by the results.

On Saturday, October 25th at 9 a.m., my wife and I visited Vitalounge at Turkey Lake for IV therapy…read morewith Vitamin C and a few additional vitamins. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely concerning and unprofessional. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff lacked proper training and experience in administering IVs. I am in the healthcare industry and can confidently say that the individuals performing these procedures did not appear to meet the qualifications or follow the safety protocols required by Florida law. After paying close to $500 for two IVs, my blood pressure was recorded at 160/111, yet the staff proceeded with the IV. I specifically told the young woman not to use my left arm because it's difficult to find a vein there, but she ignored me and kept probing until she gave up. She then switched to my right arm, even though I told her I wasn't feeling well and needed to lie down. Despite my warning about using small veins for 25,000 mg of Vitamin C, she continued -- and shortly afterward, I lost consciousness. Paramedics were called, and I was transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital, where the nurse immediately noticed that the IV line placed by Vitalounge was still wide open. The nurse removed it right away, noting that leaving a line open like that could have led to a serious infection. I was hospitalized for three days. Throughout this ordeal, no one from Vitalounge ever called to check on my condition. When I reached out after being discharged to request a refund (since neither I nor my wife received the IV service), the person I spoke with refused to provide her name and declined to issue a refund. She only provided a generic email address for "corporate" and refused to identify any manager. This experience was unacceptable, unsafe, and unprofessional. I strongly urge the Florida Department of Health to inspect this facility. Patients deserve to feel safe and cared for -- not put at risk due to poor training and negligence. How can they keep the money for something they never did, or the patient or person received or obtain. To me that is called a scam or thief.

I first heard of IV infusions and, specifically, Myers Cocktail infusions, in 2018 after having…read morestruggled with chronic pain for years and finally being diagnosed with fibromyalgia that year. My interest was piqued but I never moved forward because it felt like a very foreign process that I didn't know much about. Fast forward to 2023 when IV infusions have become significantly more mainstream and I coincidentally met Drip Vibe Infusions' owners, Valerie and Tara, during a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando (HCCMO) event. Even though we only spoke briefly, I felt compelled to look into Drip Vibe Infusions and, after doing so, I decided to reach out to book an appointment. I had my appointment earlier today and had a wonderful experience. Valerie took the time to explain their various offerings and answer my questions, after which I decided to go with the Myers Cocktail plus a Glutathione add-in as well as a CBD injection. The entire process was easy and comfortable. Valerie has a gentle hand and I barely felt anything at all when the IV needle went in...the same goes for the CBD injection. About half an hour later, I was all done and ready to go home! As far as results, I immediately felt my pain level decrease significantly. I wasn't expecting such fast results, so that was a nice surprise! The CBD injection is supposed to help with sleep and Valerie said I should expect a good night's sleep tonight, so I'm very much looking forward to that! The entire facility is very clean and well-maintained. It may not look like much from the outside but I felt very comfortable as soon as I stepped inside. Valerie explained a bit about their sterilization practices, which I'm quite pleased with, and both she and Tara have worked as nurses for a number of years and still hold part-time positions in their respective hospital departments, which definitely adds a touch of confidence!
