Reformer pilates kicked my butt. I wonder who designed these intricate contraptions. My friend…read moreasked me if I wanted to do an easy or hard class, and I told her I wanted to do a hard one thinking it couldn't be that bad. I was wrong. The burn was unreal. It was a total body workout with a lot of lower body (incredibly painful), a good amount of abs, and some upper body at the end. My friend has the most basic membership that costs $145/month for 8 classes. This seems like a reasonable price for group classes. The studio has other kinds of classes too, like spin, yoga, and HIIT. The instructor was nice, and she explained how to use the reformer. She came to correct and assist me a few times, which was helpful. One thing I struggled with was that there were no beginner modifications given at all. There were only normal options given with advanced modifications. It would have been nice to have the option to use a lower resistance or do an easier modification. While I know I could just adjust the resistance on my own, I would feel like I'm not following the instructions correctly by doing so. There was also no cooldown or stretch at the end of the class, which I am normally used to in fitness classes. Apparently it costs around $18 to buy a pair of grip socks on site. You can get a pack of three for $10 on Amazon, so I think this discrepancy is unreasonable. I understand that boutique studios want to sell boujee, high-quality gear, but they should at least have something affordable especially for the people who are just trying out their first class. I would much rather wear some used (but washed) loaner socks than pay that much for a "fancy" pair. I have heard about people not being aware they had to bring their own grip socks to class, so they were cajoled into buying socks at the studio.

Great spot for a full-body workout with instructors who actually know your name and make you feel…read moreat home. The free intro class was super helpful--Girlie walked me through all four class types and gives extra attention to newcomers. Classes break down like this: 'Align' feels more yoga-based, 'Define' leans into weights, and 'Classic' mixes both. After about 10 classes, I definitely feel stronger and more toned, even going twice a week. Plus, the schedule is flexible. When I was out sick for 2 weeks , Jazmine checked in on me and even added a class credit without me asking. As someone new, it really boosted my confidence and made me feel like they genuinely care about their members. Only downside: the Classic class is so popular that (IMO) it can get a bit packed.

As someone who runs, lifts, and lives for intense HIIT sessions, I walked into my first Pure Barre…read moreclass thinking, "How hard can it be?" Spoiler alert: it absolutely humbled me--in the best way possible. The workout was fire--low-impact but insanely effective. My muscles were shaking (hello, burn!) and I was smiling the whole time. The energy in the studio is electric. Great music, great vibes, and the instructors? Absolute gems. They're uplifting, knowledgeable, and made sure I felt supported while still pushing me to dig deeper. And the staff & owner? So friendly, so welcoming. From the second I walked in, I felt like I belonged there. No awkward first-timer vibes, just good energy and a seriously good sweat. Can't wait to go back. If you're an athlete looking to switch it up or just want a killer workout that surprises you in all the right ways--go check it out. You won't regret it!
