River views, secluded shady spots, shelter spots, and RV hookup spots. At $10 per person per night, you can't beat it. The owners were so kind and accommodating to us. This time we had to make a last minute change to the spot we chose and they were super understanding and gave us the best spot they have! (No, I'm not telling you which one! ) You can book online on their website, but if you haven't been before you should give them a call and have them help you pick out a site depending on the size of your party. (Some spots are on the smaller side.) Never had a bad time at Barefoot, and I don't think I ever will!

We was Upgraded to a very good site by Frank and it was much better then the original one we were going to get. ' We did not ask for a up grade but was offered it. It was really nice. We were PRIMITIVE camping so did not use a shelter or RV part of the camp. ' We had plenty of room to each set up our tents which were all 6 to 8 person each as well as a separate shelter to use as a Cooking/ Storage tent for our food etc. ' Fishing was not very good as we did catch a few keepers but most were in the 6 to 8 inch range. That I think is because the water level in the river i a little low and I think we missed the White Runs up or down the river. There were a Lot of BIG Carp in the area but neither of us care for carp. ' We do plan on going back again. We met some very nice first time campers there. ' The restrooms/showers are very well kept up. They are old but well maintained and MORE then enough VERY HOT water. ' I am including some pictures. I do not know ho many Yelp will let me post but I will post what I think my be appreciated. ' This is a upgrade from my original post as when I did it we had only done a quick drive through to check it out. ' Also we went during the week to avoid the Crowds and weekend party bunch. It was Nice, Peaceful and Quiet. ' If you are to picky and looking for a 5 star resort this is not it. It Is A Fishing Camp and Kayak Camp. Not a resort to go to if you expect all the comforts of home UNLESS you bring your RV. ' It Is Rustic and a great get away. There is NO PHONE or Next to NO CELL or Internet service but they will notify you very fast if they get a Emergency phone call for you and they do have a Emergency Courtesy Phone there. ' I am including pictures of the Ladies rest room / showers as I know that something the ladies all want to know about. Other pictures will be of our cam set up and some I took of the area and the Main Kayak Launch site. ' I recommend IF you are going on a weekend to be sure and make reservations in advance. Holiday Weekends get full really fast and you may end up way out in a primitive camp site if you don't. ' There are 50 Tent sites and some have a metal shelter just in case you need it or want it and others are just like it says,, Primitive, with just a Table and Fire pit. ' You will need to bring your own fire wood if you want a fire as there is NO STORE on the site. The closest is outside at the turn for Barefoot/ State park and San Saba cut off. If you are Military they do offer a Military discount for active, retired etc. Be sure and ask about it. All three of us are retired mil and from Killeen, Temple, and Copperas Cove who went Kayaking there for 3 days and had a great time even though fishing was not so good at the time.

The place had a whole crew quit that's been there for years. And actually knew what they were doing all within a month because of him. the trails unrideable. and the lift is shut down a lot because nobody knows how to run it.

This was my first time downhill mountain biking so I opted for Intro to Spider Mountain (beginners…read morelessons). Absolutely loved it! Chris was super busy because of the storms that pushed through the day before, but took his time and showed me the ropes. He related the lesson to things I was familiar with and made me comfortable with my body mechanics on the bike. He brought me to the skills park for a ride to get me in the groove and then we hit the trails. It was like having a buddy teaching me new skills. I can't say enough about my experience here, started on the greens and ended up finishing on mid-level blues. All the staff were amazing and helpful. I'll definitely be back, and will be bringing my wife and kid!

I recently attended an event here that utilized the cabin, dining hall, and a few other building…read morefacilities around campus. To start, the cabins are quite cozy. They have in-window AC and heating units (which came in handy for the cold snap we received this weekend), a bathroom that included showers, toilets, mirror, and sinks for you to get ready in the morning, and bunk beds with mattresses that actually were quite comfortable. Overall, the cabin facilities were good. We also used a couple of the classrooms that were a bit more run-down that I would have preferred and the in-window heating seemed to be a hit or a miss. The tables could use a refresher and the windows could use an update. The restroom facilities that we used while outside of the cabin were less than stellar. It was neat that there was a washer/dryer on site in the restroom, but the bathroom doors were falling off the hinges and the toilets flushed when they felt like it. The bathroom could use a refresher alongside the classrooms. The grounds were lovely. There were several picnic table areas for us to hang out under trees and enjoy the great outdoors. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and the facilities were quite well done... They could use a refresher in some of the common areas.

I don't know that I would want to be there during the afternoon in the summertime, as the trees are not large shade trees, but during spring time, you cannot beat the bluebonnets. The staff is wonderful, very helpful, and friendly. You should bring towels and bedding, the cabin is outstanding. It sleeps up to six people. He consistently checked on us and made sure every need we had was taken care of. He was extremely kind and professional the entire time. One of our kiddos made a spill in the middle of the event while Bre'don was serving pizza, and he rushed to clean it up, then came back to serving as quick as possible! He was extremely polite to all of our guests, including the children. Absolutely recommend Luv2Play and most specifically Bre'don!!

This is a drive through safari and there is an admission fee per person. The drive from Round Rock was a little over an hour, but definitely worth it if you have small children. You will have an option to purchase food for the animals, or just drive through and soak in all the wonderful scenery.

Fun experience for the whole family…read more A FEW NOTES/TIPS FOR VISITING: --An early arrival is likely best because the animals will be hungrier. We came at 10am and had plenty of interaction. It seems to reason that a late arrival might offer tired/full animals that may not approach as easily. --Before you enter the safari, set up your kids. You will likely have to loosen safety standards for a bit but you're driving 5MPH so I felt comfortable doing it. I held my 1-year-old on my lap in the front passenger seat. He wouldn't have been able to see much otherwise. We also had to unbuckle my 3-year-old's seat belt so she could shift up otherwise she had trouble feeding the animals. --You're not supposed to hand feed the animals. I don't recall them telling us that but there's a sign saying it. It's hard to avoid because some of the animals will literally stick their head in your car (zebras and donkey, I'm looking at you). They're gentle and I had no issue hand feeding them. It felt necessary to get them to back off a bit (my kids got scared though, lol). The little deer were also gentle and easy to hand feed. Anything with big horns -- we definitely just threw the food on the ground. Same for the emus -- do not hand feed those -- they will chomp your fingers hard. Ultimately, they must know people hand feed some of the animals. I'm surprised they don't do liability waivers. --Watch for animals in front of your car or even swarming the side. Throwing a handful of feed away from the car helps move them away. --Get enough food, depending on how many feeders you have. We got a $10 bucket (3 people feeding) and it was plenty (with some left over for the petting zoo). We were conservative with it though. I'd say get more than you think you need since you don't want to run out. It's also helpful to have extra feed to throw when you want the animals to get away from your car. You can always use whatever is left for the petting zoo. They gave us an extra bucket (small one) for our daughter to use in the backseat. I'd ask if you want extra ones. --The goats at the petting zoo are pretty aggressive. If you walk in with a bucket, they will literally swarm you. Maybe it was because we came early in the day and there weren't too many other people there. My toddler got scared, lol. I'd recommend staying outside the gates and feeding through there or having one person stay outside to hand the feed over from the bucket. Ultimately, a great way to spend a couple of hours and entertain the kids. It's a little pricey since you pay per person (including 3 and up) but it's all good. The beautiful peacocks roaming around definitely enhanced the experience. The gift shop was a bit scarce -- could have been stocked with more items. I also wish they gave us a brochure about the animals upon entry (I saw reviews about people grabbing those at the gift shop; we had no idea they existed). Clean bathrooms and ample parking.
