I don't know how Dr. Pousti manages to remember all the little details from previous conversations with his patients being how crazy busy he is... he is truly a talented physician! It took me a year from my first consultation to even book the surgery, and every time I came into the office I felt like family. Sounds cheesy, but it's true. He and his staff are so warm and welcoming, they really made the entire procedure a breeze. His work speaks for itself, my results are fantastic and even after almost two years I feel like they just keep getting better :) My recovery was cake. I never once felt even an OUNCE of pain... I'm not kidding. My breast augmentation was completely painless, and I was terrified after hearing my girlfriends say how horrible their recovery was. I was in a daze for the first three days coming out of anesthesia; I slept all day and don't remember a whole lot. After I'd adjusted, the hardest part for me was having to sleep on my back. Within a week I felt back to normal, and within a month was able to resume my regular activities. I just visited Dr. Pousti's office for my 2 year anniversary check up. The staff was amazing ( as usual) some of them even remembered me which felt nice. I'm still loving my Boosti by Pousti. As far as scarring goes , Dr. Pousti's incision was very precise and you can barely see that there's any scarring.My boosti feels nice and squishy and have fallen very nicely into place. All my bathing suits and tops look so pretty and the best part is that i don't have to invest in buying expensive push up bras, now i can just buy braletts from any store throw it on and not worry about my boosti looking so small or barely there. I have to say that although I loved Dr. Pousti himself, I feel he took the easy way out with me. When I went into the consult they were very late starting it which is fine. It took a long while to see him. He really didn't listen very much and told me I looked great and not to touch them. He then said a lift and aug would look great. He doesn't do rhino and didn't even offer a doctor to work tandem with. I guess he just does basic boobs day in and day out? His staff called and said he didn't want to do the surgery. Never heard this before. I am fitness, lingerie and swimwear model and have been on television many times. I'm no dummy. He just didn't want to deal with a picky type A client is my guess. I understand he declined to do my surgery because he said he doesn't "think" I need to get anything but it's ultimately my choice AND that 1000% is a another way of saying "you will be too much work because you're picky". Breast augmentation is Easy when there is no lift and women just want to not look overweight anymore because they are big/saggy OR are young vanilla girls and want "big boobs". However I wanted a hands down 100% beautiful reshaping and something celebrity worthy. I would have paid whatever it took. I found a super snobby place in Del Mar and honestly every woman that walked out of the place was a bombshell. This is the type of doc I would have needed. One that is used to high maintenance picky women who take their beauty as seriously as Hollywood stars. Pousti is no doubt talented but has a cattle call type practice that takes the easy patients first clearly. If you want quality and not quantity you should reconsider and go with someone who is charging premium pricing. Being turned down for surgery is a first and I have been to 18 consults. Dr. Pousti and all of his staff are truly amazing! I am 12 days post-op today and my breast augmentation journey has been the most pleasant, smooth experience. Immediately from going to my first consultation the entire staff was extremely warm, welcoming and professional and I could tell from meeting Dr. Pousti that he is very genuine and has a lot of knowledge about plastic surgery and is very experienced. I never felt pushed or pressured to choose him as my doctor for my BA but I knew right away that he was the doctor I wanted to go with. I was pretty nervous before going into the procedure, but I felt like Dr. Pousti eased my nerves by checking in with me days before the surgery and talking me through the process. The day of my surgery, the surgical center was very timely and professional and made me feel even more comforted before the actual procedure. After waking up from my surgery I hardly experienced any pain and was able to get off my pain meds after day 2. I went to 4 surgeons before Pousti. I was a touch skeptic because the location of the office, & figured top notch surgeons are located in high end areas. Pousti proved me wrong; it's not the location of an office that speaks to a surgeons skill - it is their actual experience, certifications and professionalism. I was leaning towards another doctor initially, but the more reviews I read about Pousti, the more I felt at ease with my decision. Pousti was a referral from my sister, who absolutely LOVES her breast augmentation by him. I spoke to actual clients of Pousti's during my consults (I had 2 consults, one year apart, because I was on the fence due to the impact the surgery might have on breastfeeding in the future). Every client was VERY happy. Some even let me see their results! The staff has no issue showing their results from Pousti either. It was a little odd at first for me to be seeing and touching a bunch of bare titties, haha, but now that I have my own titties, I understand how "not-so-odd" at all it was! Me: 5'2" : 32 A with a large bottom (ass & thighs for days - thanks crossfit) Day of Consult: I had some virtual imaging taken of my (mildly tuberous) breasts. I got to place some sizes underneath my shirt to figure out a perfect size. Initially, I wanted to go up one cup size, but after a year of thinking, I decided I wanted them to be as big as naturally possible! I wanted full C's! Pousti suggested 375cc. Day of Operation: I was SO nervous!!!!! I legit cried that I finally decided to go under the knife for an ELECTIVE procedure! I thought about what if they were too big, or too pointy, or too high..or what if my parents found out that this is how I'd die - during a breast augmentation procedure that I never mentioned to them....but the ladies at Grossmont Hospital were FANTASTIC! Pousti came in and drew with his purple Sharpie on me, and said '350-400 cc, let me have free reign of my artistic ability' and I said YES, but please don't make them look too big b/c I am short and I don't want to look fat since I am already bottom heavy! He agreed, and next thing you know I was knocked out. Post-Operation: I woke up with minimal pain, and my first Q: what size did he choose!?! Nurse that was there with me from the get-go said "350cc"! I was relieved that it wasn't 400cc!! I felt very very very sleepy. I wasn't hungry. I was thirsty. I slept for approx. 12 hours that day. It was marvelous to catch up on sleep!!!! Two days later: I went to follow-up appointment and learned it was 375cc! I was like, "YES! Something in between!!!!" First Day Looking at Bare Breasts: OH MY GOD! I couldn't even look in the mirror b/c of the purple sharpie all over my breasts with the words capitalized "SILICONE" on my tummy. My boobs looked GINORMOUS. I almost cried, and panicked that I looked straight out of a porno. I learned the massages, and was given alcohol sheets to remove the purple sharpie markings.... THREE WEEKS LATER: I am VERY VERY VERY HAPPY with my breasts! Are they too large? Eh, I prefer that than wishing it was a touch larger. I actually look proportionate for once in my life. I went from pear-shaped-bod to hourglass. My tuberous breasts are NOT pointy, my boobs are SO close together, and are close to my collar bone!!!! THEY ARE PERFECT. Pousti said that he was 90% certain that I'd love my results, and he was ABSOLUTELY correct! 6 weeks later/2 days ago: Although I didn't personally mind, the white tape around my Arreola is finally removed. The scarring isn't "angry" but maybe with time I'll change my mind. I did purchase the $55 silicone gel sheeting, and have applied it for 12 hours as instructed. I may have misunderstood, but the sheeting is supposed to last for 10 months to 1 year with 1 box that included 4 sheets. My box only contained 2 sheets. I will call and ask about that because each sheet is supposed to last for 3 months of use, and that doesn't equate to 10 months. My Arreola is lifted in the manner that Pousti said it would, and they look GREAT. I don't always do 10 minutes massage/lift on each breast everyday, but I definitely try to massage/lift 3 minutes on each breast. Dr. Pousti OVER DELIVERED! He is so kind every time I see him! He is also charming (but not in a creepy way)! He is HONEST! TRUST WORTHY! SKILLED! PROFESSIONAL! And I actually care to learn the names of his staff now b/c every single one of them are LEGIT AMAZING. Daisy, Sarah, Cindy, Taylor, & Vanessa are so caring and personable. I cannot believe that I would get a call EVERY SINGLE DAY from Daisy asking how I was doing. EVERY DAY. I don't know if that's typical or not, but it really made me confident in selecting Pousti. I had my first visit with Dr. Pousti on the 1st of December, and although I have not had my surgery yet, I am already highly impressed. I came to him in need of symmastia repair, as 4 years ago I had implants put in by Dr. Kincaid, a different San Diego based plastic surgeon who messed them up very bad. For the past 4 years I have researched many doctors to find one I felt comfortable enough with to trust to do my revision surgery. From what I have seen so far, Dr. Pousti is the complete opposite of my other surgeon in that he is on time, patient, and actually listens to me. He hasn't promised to perform a miracle on me, because 100% certainty of success is never guaranteed with any type of surgery. What he has promised is to not leave the operating room until he is satisfied with my results, and tells me he is very confident that he can dramatically improve my condition. This type of reassurance has been very comforting, and even though I went to see him 3 times in 5 days with different questions and concerns (having a bad result once makes you very nervous about going under the knife again), he has happily seen me all 3 times and tells me I can come in everyday with questions if I need to. I'll update my review once I've had my revision, but I can already tell you that he is more personable and sincere than any doctor I've met (even my primary care doctors aren't this caring). The girls who work at his office also make the experience better, because they talk to you like a friend would - not like they're trying to sell you something (as I felt at my previous surgeon's office). All in all, I'm very satisfied so far, and I'm pretty confident that I'm in the best possible hands for this revision surgery. I started looking for a surgeon in October 2012 and found many plastic surgeons to suit my needs but, only one surgeon that I could wholeheartedly put my trust in. From walking into the La Mesa office my comfort level was meet with friendly staff members and a team of professionals that made me feel like I was already a member of the family. I'm a 43 year old male and have been unhappy with the extra tissue I had in my chest causing (man boobs) I also wanted to have liposuction around my flanks and lower back. Dr Pousti was the third surgeon on my quest for excellence. I had originally gone in to see about getting chest implants to correct some asymmetry and gynecomastia and make my chest look fuller. After many suggestions from other surgeons I still needed the right guidance. Well I guess three was my lucky number. My consultation with Dr P exceeded my expectations and I new before I left that I was choosing him to perform my surgery. I had my surgery one month and one week ago and I couldn't be more ecstatic. Since I didn't have any hard tissue in my chest I was able to get away with only liposuction removing fatty tissue around and under my nipples to flatten out the chest area removing my (man boobs) I also had my waist ( Flanks) done as well. After surgery, I took three days off and was back to work Monday morning. After having my dressings removed one week later a dramatic difference was evident and I haven't stopped smiling since. I kept thinking to myself "if it looks this good now, just think how I'm going to look after I am completely healed". I've kept up with the compression which I highly recommend for swelling and have no issues. The experience I had with Dr. Pousti and his staff were excellent! My consultations were handled professionally and I felt very comfortable during my visits. When I had my Gynecomastia surgery on 10.26.2009, a few things that really stood out to me was the fact that Dr. Pousti was punctual and the surgery results turned out better than expected. I was informed that the surgery went a bit longer than expected only because Dr Pousti wanted to ensure that I received exactly what I was looking for. This is a 3rd person review. My wife got her breast done. I wont go into too much of a story because there are many. I will just write some important points to note. 1. Best Customer service personal, it really reflects from him. He knows who to hire and doesn't micro manage. 2. They called my wife every day and walked her through everything, the wife freaked out one night at 11pm and we were able to speak with the doctor. 3. He knows whats best, if he says you should go bigger, you probably should. 4. The doctor understands women, and knows how to make them feel right at home (giving them flowers) 5. Office is always full, and 9 out of 10 girls proceed with the treatment. 6. He does not try to sell you anything. 7. He let the wife talk to patients at the office, who just got their augmentation done. Some of the girls there came from different countries/states redoing their boobs because of a bad 1st experience. 5 Stars... Not enough! Dr Pousti is as good as it gets when it comes to cosmetic surgery. I can't say enough about my breast augmentation. I absolutely love my new breasts. I am a nurse and very meticulous in general, so I was pretty thorough in my search for a cosmetic surgeon. I went on several consultations and I can say when I walked out of his office I knew he was my guy. And let me just add that I never felt pressure to hurry up and schedule my surgery on the two occasions that I saw him prior to actually scheduling my surgery. From pre-op to post-op I felt completely comfortable and knew I was in good hands. I know a few woman that have had work done by him and had amazing results. I also had a friend who knew I had surgery with Pousti and wanted to have a consultation with him. When I asked her if she was going to get a consultation she said she wasn't sure. I asked her why and she said she read a bad review. My response to my dear friend was this: When you can show me where the bad reviews outweigh the good, then lets talk lol. But seriously, I explained to her that it's all about how you interpret them and reviews can be extremely helpful if you interpret them correctly. I also told her to actually read the reviews and not just look at the overall star rating because it could be affected by factors that aren't very important to you. The consultation session with Dr. Pousti and his staff solidified my decision within minutes. They offer a Vectra image machine - a camera that will take a picture of over a dozen angles at the same time of your chest to give you a 3D image to display. This allows you to see what you would look like given the size chosen. The size was very important to me so seeing what I was going to look like made a world of difference Right after we finished with the vector scan, a staff member knocked on the door to ask if I were interested in speaking with a few of the other ladies in for their post op appts. She said they were willing to share her experience with me and answer any questions that I may still have. I was pleasantly surprised that not any of the staff stayed in the room with us. It made me feel great about it b/c not only could I literally could ask them anything, but because it was just us in the room, I knew each lady was being honest with me and not giving me censored feedback. They both had amazing comments about her process and the staff and it was obvious how pleased they were with their experience. Dr. Pousti came in to meet me shortly after I was back in my own room. He was very professional, had calm demeanor and genuinely seemed to love his practice. I learned he is double board certified and he's over 20+ years in plastic surgery. This was a big selling point for me. I wanted to make sure that the surgeon I choose was an expert in this area and had credible certifications. He was very through and asked me lots of questions. I was given so much of his time and attention that it made me feel as if I were the only patient in the building. He assessed my body and images on the vector scan and we started talking specifics. He asked that if I were to choose to go with him for my operation, that he would like me to compile some pictures of not only what I wanted to look like, but what I also did not want to look like as well and to also jot down a few things on paper that I wanted and what I didn't want. i.e. - I want cleavage, but I don't want to have the roundness at the top etc. He also, unlike other surgeons, doesn't have you pre purchase your implants or choose your CC before surgery. He shared that it is very hard for a patient to determine what size exactly, but easier if we show him what we are looking for, bc so many things are taken into consideration for the outcome. He said that he takes it upon himself to choose the size and shape to give me the outcome I want based on pictures and examples that I provide. I was beginning to see that he is not only a surgeon that gives incredible outcomes, but is more of an artist who takes much pride creating perfection for each individual. Needless to say, I booked my date for my surgery right after the consultation itself! The day of my surgery, the surgery center had amazing things to say on his behalf. From the front desk agent to the nurses inside, they all said how very professional he is and that he is nothing but business during surgery. After I was all hooked up to the IV, Dr. Pousti came in to greet me and see how I was feeling. He once again looked thru my file of pictures I created and we again discussed what outcome I was looking to achieve. The anesthesiologist was amazing as well. Dr. Pousti was referred to me by my friend who had her breasts done by him 10+ years ago. I love how her breasts look and when I decided to take the plunge and get mine done, I asked her who she went to. I had gotten a referral from another friend as well. I reached out to both practices over the weekend (I don't know why I did through email over the weekend, I guess I was excited) and Dr. Pousti responded to me personally within 24 hours. I recently had to see Dr. Pousti because where my earring hole was had torn through. Gross, I know. I am only 24-years-old so the thought of going to a plastic surgeon was not on the top of my list but I am getting married this year and wanted to wear earrings again. Dr. Pousti is AMAZING! At age 14, my bra size was a 34 DDD. I was 5'8" and weighed 118 lbs. While these measurements sound attractive, I never felt confident in my body due to my breast size. I was top heavy, in pain, and my clothes never fit right, which created a big self-esteem issue for many years. Fast forward to age 44, after nursing two beautiful girls, my breast size remained the same, however they became very saggy, so much to the point that it hid my upper stomach. I was referred to Dr. Poust by a friend of a friend after extensive interviewing of two other prominent doctors in the field. At my first consultation in September 2016, I knew immediately Dr. Pousti was the one who would perform my surgery. My initial consultation was outstanding. Dr. Pousti met with me and walked me through the breast reduction process and answered all of my questions. I was provided with all of his photo albums and testimonials (which left such an impression on me). His staff was amazing and so genuine. I had 4 (yes 4) prior breast surgeries by different surgeons before Dr. Pousti: (1) initial augmentation (2) replacement for larger implants (3) capsular contracture; and (4) replacement of implants due to deflation. My most recent surgery left me with asymmetric breasts, significant scarring and/ over time. breasts that were "migrating" toward my armpits. I lived with these results for approximately 6 years before deciding to see if I could find a doctor with the expertise needed to address these issues. My implant size is perfect for my frame, my breasts are in a youthful position and properly centered on my chest and my incisions lines are minimal (he was able to make all revisions through one incision in the crease at the bottom of each of my breasts). The pain after surgery was minimal,and well controlled with medication.Since surgery I have had two follow up appointments, his office has checked in with me via telephone every day and I even received a bouquet of flowers!. This review is regarding a consultation that I had with Dr Pousti a few years ago not for breasts but for something else I feel is too personal to post. My original doctor botched up reconstructive surgery on a part of my body that was cut into multiple times (not what you are thinking either lol). I have never been able to wear a bikini without feeling self conscious because of the original surgeon's screw up. For years I fantasized about having that area fixed. I saw the revision photos of the good doctor's work on his website and was not only impressed but hopeful. Running late from L.A. to La Mesa, my boyfriend rented a Porsche and drove me there as fast as he could and got me there in the nick of time. The doctor was running a little late but the wait was not that long and we were seen shortly after my original appointment time. My first impression of the office is that it's filled with lots of attractive females! I didn't feel intimidated but I sure was impressed! I couldn't tell who had what done because if any one of them did, that's a testament to his work lol! They were mostly covered up anyway so I couldn't tell if any of the ladies had work done on their breasts, which is what he is known for. The ladies behind the desk were all very nice without being overly accommodating or coming across as fake or obsequious. They have got the whole thing down to a science! Now to Dr. Pousti. He is a very pleasant fellow and very complimentary to my boyfriend and me. He immediately complimented us and remarked that we both looked 'good.' I don't know about you, but I like hearing that even if he is simply selling himself. I can see where some might think he is being disingenuous but once you get to talking with him, you will see that he is not. And what he said to me next totally validates my opinion. He took one look at the area in need of revision and said, bluntly, "Sorry, but I can't help you." Admittedly, I was floored. He recommended that I find someone who had extensive experience and expertise with fat grafting. After the initial shock wore off, I felt defeated, which soon turned to appreciation for being honest enough to not pretend he could do something that he really could not do or that simply wasn't his forte. It takes a lot of courage and integrity to admit that you cannot fix something and that is a testament to his character. I would argue most doctors in his field are too arrogant or proud to admit as much. I would absolutely trust Dr Pousti to give me a straightforward opinion or candid assessment - minus the sugar coating - if I were seeking another consult for another surgery with him. As for his work, here are my thoughts. After viewing a vast array of online before and afters, I would seriously consider going to him or recommend him to others seeking a primary or revision augmentation. Now if I may, here is my honest take on his work. It does not look the most natural as some of the other doctors I have seen online, and that is fine. His work is beautiful. He is skilled at giving you beautiful fake breasts. Many women like that and do not desire breasts that are natural and saggy or lower hanging as nature sometimes intends. With that said, if you go a moderate size, he can give you more natural and less conspicuously augmented breasts (just take a look at the pics). I have heard many a lady complain that their breasts look 'too natural' and they want them higher and fuller and if that is you, then he ought to be on your list of doctors to consult. If you are the type that wants your breasts to stand out and you want to go very large but don't want to look cheap, then he is your man! He is not going to give you a low quality, porn star looking job. He will give you a high quality, centerfold quality job. If I were inclined to go that direction, he would be the first on my list to consult. With my background in modeling, acting, and pageants, I can tell you firsthand that his work is breathtakingly beautiful! Anyway, I left the consult disappointed that he could not help me. I have yet to seek out someone for fat grafting and decided to learn to live with what I have for now. But I do have major breast envy! After my appointment, his office followed up multiple times to see how I was doing. Every lady that called was sweet and pleasant. While some might find it an annoyance to be called more than once, they were pleasant and genuine enough that I did not think twice about it. I appreciate this extra touch which leads me to believe that if you were to have surgery with Dr Pousti, your follow up care will be more than satisfactory. I like him as a person and from what I have gleaned from multiple photos and reviews, I like him as a doctor. FINALLY - a big thank you Dr Pousti for being so candid.
