I had a breast augmentation years ago with Dr. Charles Umansky. Happy to report since his sons took over the practice the level of care and service has not changed. I recently went in for a tummy tuck and could not be more pleased. Luckily I was a candidate for a drainless TT. I was deciding between Dr. Jeffrey Umansky and another board certified plastic surgeon also with a Quad A surgery center. Both excellent surgeon with great reputations however, I decided to go Dr.Umansky for the entire package. Their office staff is amazing! People obviously think about the outcome of the surgery but the response of the office staff is just as important. Their patient consultant Diana is very informative, warm and thorough. She answered every question and if she didn't know found me my answer same day. Front desk always greets with a smile. Margie is the best! She has been with that practice for over twenty plus years and truly makes you feel like your family. She helps coordinate your needs after surgery. Extremely important! I needed help with my disability forms and she was prompt and made sure she kept me in the loop through the process. This team has been accommodating and given me great quality of care and should be acknowledged for going above and beyond. Just posting because I was looking for this when I was doing research. 1) they charge $100 just for a consult which many do free of charge 2) I called because I wanted a drainless procedure but the schedulers said they weren't sure they were still doing that despite what it says on the website 3) they charge 15k-18k for a tummy tuck which is quite a bit more expensive than others and the quote doesn't include anesthesia! How can you even have a surgery without anesthesia?! Of course it should be included in the quote. 4) they are booking out 5 months for just a consult--and you have to pay the consult fee upfront! 5) they are booking out surgeries 6 months so you would really need to plan on booking the surgery immediately at the time of your consult or you'll basically be waiting a year from scheduling a consult to surgery. Fortunately there are other surgeons that actually do drainless tummy tucks and don't charge a consult fee and can fit in consults within a few weeks to allow time to decide on a surgeon and prepare before scheduling the surgery. Sharing since I was looking for this information at the time I was evaluating surgeons. It just left me with a bad taste and makes me feel like it's a production mill, I may not get the personalized attention I'd want and they're a bit misleading. read more

I am writing this not only out of personal necessity but also as a warning to others. Years ago, I underwent a breast reduction procedure performed by Dr. Jeffrey Umansky. When I expressed immediate and legitimate concerns about the grossly asymmetrical, misshapen outcome, I was dismissively met with the condescending remark: "Let's remember, they're sisters, not twins." This patronizing statement was clearly meant to deflect responsibility and silence a vulnerable, young patient who had just trusted him with her body. The result was not only physically disfiguring, but emotionally devastating. At the time, I lacked the personal and emotional support to pursue legal recourse. However, with time and reflection, it's become undeniably clear: I was negligently and carelessly operated on, and the trauma I endured has left lasting scars--both literally and psychologically. To be specific, Dr. Umansky's surgical execution resulted in: Sloppy and uneven internal tissue excision Poorly closed incisions, resulting in significant scarring and dog-ear deformities Asymmetrical areolas, with nipples more than an inch off from one another Long-term disfigurement that has made any corrective procedures extremely complex and costly Despite my desperation and embarrassment, I reached out to the office manager shortly after the surgery to request even a partial refund so I could afford reconstructive work elsewhere. My plea was coldly denied and ultimately ignored. The lack of professional accountability shown by both Dr. Umansky and his office was reprehensible. Since then, I have consulted with multiple board-certified plastic surgeons, all of whom confirmed the extensive damage done and emphasized the difficulty of now restoring what was once a healthy, intact chest. One even stated that the tissue had been "butchered"--their words, not mine. I have photographic documentation of both the immediate post-op results and my current condition, which I am prepared to share publicly and with appropriate legal channels if necessary. If the platform allowed, I would upload these images in full to give others the visual proof of what I have suffered due to Dr. Umansky's substandard care. Dr. Umansky, whether your staff chose to shield you from the fallout or not, you should know: your conduct was not only negligent but borders on medical malpractice. Your failure to take responsibility--medically or financially--for the irreversible damage you caused is inexcusable. I gave everything I had to pay for that surgery, and in return, I was left physically distorted and emotionally broken. This message is for the patients who have been silenced, dismissed, or gaslit into thinking they had no right to speak up. I speak now because I have found my voice--and others deserve to find theirs too. Your actions, Dr. Umansky, were not only unprofessional and unethical--they were, and remain, absolutely unforgivable. read more

The staff are equally kind and professional. It should also be noted that Dr. Bill's office offers not only a full range of plastic surgery procedures, but they also offer beauty tretaments as well. in other words, you can get your Botox and Juviderm procedures in the same place you got your facelift. I had 3 consultations and I was most impressed with Dr. William Umansky. She gave me his pricing, which met my budget and I proceeded with my initial consultation. I did breast augmentation and lift about ten years ago. Immediately after the first surgery, I knew it was wrong. One side was HUGE compared to the other, and measuring from neck to nipple, they were off by like three inches with the right one pointing to the right, and the left one pointing down. When I mentioned this to the office, I was told "you are wrong, they just need to settle." I also got an infection in one of the incisions which I could both see and feel (large bump with redness all around). I contacted the office about that too and was told it was fine. It irrupted two days later leaving first a hole in the incision and then a noticeable hard round scar within the normal scar. Fast forward six months later, for the very necessary "corrective" surgery where I had to pay for anesthesiologist even though clearly the Dr made mistakes (didnt follow the measure twice cut once rule I guess), my nipples ended up even but both now pointing to the right, and my left nipple ended up about two centimeters smaller diameter than the right (not that it was round). Additionally, my right breast was still way bigger than the left. At that time I was in my very early 30s, and not willing to go for a third surgery (which was Umansky's recommendation) where I would have to pay for the anesthesiologist AND possibly new implants because during the "corrective" surgery they added 75ccs to the left one to try and even it out (which was still ultimately way smaller than the right). Aside from all that I felt very unsupported during the process. My concerns were dismissed, even though validated, and I spent the last ten years with deformed breast, which impacted by daily life (I couldnt wear anything but sports bras) and it impacted my self esteem. Maybe my experience is a one off, I certainly hope it is, and maybe Dr. Umansky has improved as this was ten years ago. Note: I originally mentioned that the implant was upside down. My current surgeon informed me that sometimes they do flip. He also informed me that it was the left (smaller breast) that had the over filled implant, not the right one, even though it was my right breast that remained much larger than the left. read more

I had my breast augmentation with Dr William Umansky on 28 February 2023. I am SO incredibly happy with my results. He was very honest with me from the beginning, I had wanted to do something like 300cc and he recommended I go a bit smaller due to my frame and lifestyle (I am petite, 5'4 with a small ribcage and weigh about 120lb, very active; I surf 4-5 days a week). We chose 255cc medium profile silicone implants under the muscle and I truly could not be more pleased. My scars are also almost invisible which I attribute more to his style of stitching than the Biocreme (silicone scar gel) because I have to be honest; I wasn't super consistent with the creme. The team at Umansky was extremely kind, communicative and gentle throughout the entire process. I don't think I would go anywhere else for other surgeries I may have planned in the future. I am a 36-year-old female I'll be 37 in January. I received a breast augmentation from Dr. Umansky when I was 21 years old, which resulted in permanent nerve damage to my left breast. I called them about six months later to let them know I was experiencing pain that felt like a sharp needle was stabbing the left side of my breast, and I've never been able to sleep on the side because I was 21-year-old female and paid cash. They never gave me the time of day never even called me back so in 2015 I couldn't sleep anymore. I was in so much pain I was in tears and my whole family made me feel like I did this to myself because I have gotten this done, thankfully dr Alavi in San Diego tried to help me and redo them, but because of the anesthesia I thought they were fixed but they are not. I just had my breast lift and implant surgery on Thursday, so I'm only 3 days post op, but wanted to leave a review for Dr. William Umansky ASAP. I felt really comfortable throughout the whole process, from consult to pre-op, but I was really nervous about going under general anesthesia for the first time. I found myself very emotional and nervous once I entered the OR, but Dr. Umansky showed up and eased my mind before I went under. He kindly rubbed my forehead as I drifted away, which I thought was such a kind and heart felt gesture. I came in here for a BA consultation a few months back. Unfortunately, I didn't get surgery here. (I hurt my back and was unable to carry big boobs with already some back pain) until this day I still carry my small boobs,ugh. I was browsing places to discuss my capsular contracture situation. Umansky Plastic Surgery had great reviews, and they are one of the few places that offers Aspen Treatment. My review is solely based on my consultation experience. Aspen Treatment is when they use ultrasound treatments to break up early stages of a capsular contracture. Also, it is not a guaranteed treatment to fix it but is an option for those who have it. A reservation fee for your consultation is $50. I didn't mind, but was a bit annoyed because I had to wait an additional 40 - 50 minutes for my appointment. I'm a pretty busy person so it was annoying to spend $50 for my reservation fee and they were behind. However, they did apologize throughout about the consultation appointment. Dr. Umansky had great bed side manner and his staff as well. He gave me opinions about my situation and didn't try to sell me anything. He brought up another possibility to my situation that I didn't even consider or was told about. It gave me more insight and to consider other possibilities. He answered all my questions, was honest about it, and gave me more information than I expected. Also, if I had additional questions, Kerry, the patient consultant, was so quick to respond via e-mail. As someone who is busy, it is VERY NICE to have someone to respond to my e-mails in a timely manner. They did a great job with that. I'm glad I came to this office for a consultation.
