Prime shoes aka san ysidro's best kept secret! wow!! where do i start? I've been coming to this place for almost two years now and am barely getting around to write a review, a first one at that!! It's quietly tucked away in a little strip mall next to a grocery store and a tailor. Once you find it, you WILL go crazy!! This place is a haven for any girl who is shoe-obsessed like me! brands like christian lacroix, staurt weitzman, betsey johnson for mere pennies! well not pennies but damn near it! I bought a pair of GORGEOUS michael kors heels a few months back. Saw them at bloomie's for $150. How much did i get them for? $35!! thats right ladies I said $35!! brand new!! Now not all of the shoes are new, some were returns from macys, bloomies, nordies, some are damaged but a lot have never been worn! and you have to go every monday, because thats when they get their new shipments in. And towards the end of the month the price of the shoes will decrease in order to make room for the next months shoes!! love it! Next shipment date is always posted thru out store. If you show up later in the month you will get the scraps. 2.Prices start @ $24.99 and goes down until end of month clearance sale. Found a pair of Chloe platform wedges for...$5.99!!! Yes, i had to repair the straps for $7.00. So, I scored on a pair of designer shoes that retails for $500 for $12.99!! My pal Sunny scored ona pair of italian designer ostrich stillettos. she said something about being on a budget then grabbed a basket & asked if they accepted credit cards!! 3.Yes, some of the inventory is used& damaged but alot of the inventory is brand new. Honestly I would rather own a pair of repaired Chloe wedges here than a pair of vinyl man made pleather from Payless shoe source. Uh corns & hammer toes are not sexy!! 4. The staff double checks the sizes & will inform you of any mismatch pair. Al, the owner has knocked off a few bucks for any other blemishes when I purchased more than 1 pair AND I always find more than 1 pair!! 5.it can be a bit of a drive there but worth it if you make a shopping spree out of it with your best girlfriends( who are NOT your size!! haha) and also hit the $5.99 clothing shop off Palomar & outlet mall a few exits south. read more

Came here on a whim late Saturday afternoon. There wasn't that much inventory. I'm not sure if it's because it was the end of the month or because when it comes to my small shoe size, the majority of the time I'm SOL. Anyway, I saw plenty of other cute shoes all styles, just not my size. I used to shop here at the prior location and always left with more than what I limit myself on buying. But for some reason, I felt like I had to buy things just to justify my 40 minute drive down to the other side of San Diego. My loot was cute but my shopping urge was far from satisfied. Lol. The store was was clean. All the shoes were neatly arranged in the correct size categories. Of course you have the usual crowd, yunno the type where ppl do not respect other shoppers personal space, they practically snatch the item you were just admiring as you were placing it back down instead of waiting and let their kids run amuck like animals. It's part of bargain shopping at a place where returns, past season and overstock for Macy's go. There were clothes too. I was stuck for a good 15 mins debating amongst myself if it was worth it. In the end I walked out with two work tops (INC, inc.) and a pair of clearance Carlos Santana sandals that I really didn't need. But hey, for $6.99 I will find an outfit to make them shine! My grand total was about $35.00. Not bad. I will be back from time to time. Cashier was super friendly and helpful. Kudos to her! read more

I've been coming here to Prime Shoes forever. Every Monday they get new shoes except for the last Monday of the month and then they go on super sale. I realize it's either hit or miss at the store just like every other store some people complain that their shoes are used but know this people coming in here and leave their old shoes and walk out with new ones! so please keep that in mind ....with the great price and the great variety Prime Shoes has always something wonderful just have to look for it read more

The shoes are used, let me repeat used! It's just gross! Honestly I don't understand the big fuss about paying $22 for shoes that look like they should be thrown out. Yes there are a few that look like new but you can get those same shoes at Nordstrom Rack for about the same price. Their inventory comes from department stores returns and since they can't sell them to their customers they end up at shops like this one. The nicer items cost just as much as the sale prices in nicer stores... I'm going to stick to sales at nice department store when I am looking for my fix on shoe bargains. read more

I've been coming to this place for like 10years!!! I don't understand the negative reviews, my only complain is the line on Monday mornings when they receive new shipments every 1st Monday of the month and its around 3,000 pair of shoes Every 1st Monday of the moth they receive new shoes. The second Monday they receive new shipment of COACH shoes (if you like COACH) On the last week of every moth they discount all the shoes to $12.99 or less sometimes $5.99 Also behind the counter they have their Designer Shoes (Gucci, Fendi, Chanel, Jimmy Choo, etc, etc) Last week I saw Fendi shoes for $$$145!!!! They only hey have about 15-20 pairs of high end designer shoes but their not fake all original and new! They also have Designer shoes like Michael Kors, Marc by Marc JAcobs that are around $40-$100 depending on price and they go on sale to the last week of every moth and before i close this They have Handbags, and clothes! A friend brought me to Prime shoes just a few days ago and let me tell you, I'm ready to go back today! Most of the shoes in the store are $21.99 ($22.99 on Mondays) however some of the boots and higher-end brands are a bit more. There are all sorts of name brands - Steve Madden, Nine West, Chinese Laundry, Bandolino, Jessica Simpson, BCBG, Kennetch Cole, Coach, Michael Kors, Tahari and more! Like some people have already mentioned, some of the shoes are department store returns and thus have a bit of wear on them, but it's no more than some scuffed up bottoms - but really, most of them are brand new. I got a pair of brand new Steve Madden ankle boots for $29.99 that were originally $129 (I looked them up online)!! This store is definitely worth the stopping for if you are in the area ... or even in you're not! read more

This place is horrible!! They sale shoes with the wrong sizes. Example: They sale an 8.5 paired with an 8 and they ticket them as the same size. Once you purchase them and you realize it's the wrong size they will not let you return them or exchange them. I called them to explain the situation and they admitted to selling shoes with the wrong sizes to people. The lady on the phone was proud to tell me that they have been in business for 19 years and that's how they do business. I am very disappointed and will never shop there again. read more

I moved out of the area and one of the things I most miss in SD is Prime Shoes! This store is amazing - the other reviews have already mentioned the absolutely crazy deals to be had, and I completely agree, but no one has mentioned that the deals on guy shoes are often even better. My husband loved going here, and found quite a few designer Italian shoes that normally retailed for hundreds of dollars for $50-80 brand new. On his last trip to SD to visit family Prime was one of his stops, and he took pictures of the aisles in my size so he could bring me back anything that caught my eye. It's sad to see the people that gave this place one star. This place is for those people that are aware of what top name brand/designer products are. This isn't a place to go buy cheap shoes. It is a boutique like store where you can find amazing bargains, but you have to know what you are buying. Yes they do sell new and used shoes. If there is a problem with the pair of shoes you wish to purchase the cashiers are usually quick to spot the problem and notify you of it before you make the purchase. The shoes are just to inexpensive to have a return policy. If you are concerned about returns then this isn't the place for you. This is a family run business. Al and Sandra opened this place back in 1994. They have been selling designer/name brand shoes for 16 years! They must be doing something right. The best days to go are Mondays, that is when they have there best selection. My mom brought me here because I was in search of a pair of black pumps. She warned me that this place has a great selection of off the runway shoes, and she wasn't lying. This place has shoes you typically find at Macy's or Nordstrom (Frye's boots, Coach shoes, Calvin Klein, Anne Klein, and even Versace O.O). Their prices range day to day from $16.99 to $49.99 (designer shoes are the most expensive I saw). I ended up walking out with a pair of brand new Coach black pumps that are beautiful! AND for $49.99!!! GASP!!! The staff was also friendly and later on that day I was walking through Macys and saw the same pair of black leather Coach pumps for their original price ($199.99). Oh yeah, I definitely was happy with my purchase. One thing though, you have to search and try on all the shoes in order to find a good pair. A few come with a few bumps and scratches, but I do recommend this place if you're willing to search and aren't embarrased to try the shoes for a little spin in the store. read more

Yesterday we are walking around the Chula Vista Mall and I saw some cute shoes when my cousin mentioned there is a place in San Ysidro that had the exact same brand name shoes for half the price. Of course I did not believe her, so I decided to see for myself. It was a little hard to fine but it's located in the back of the new Smart and Final. At first I didn't know what to expect, so I grabbed a basket and began looking. I found a cute pair of INC nude pumps. The first thing I wanted to see is the price but none of the shoes had prices. As I started to walk towards the front to asked the clerk, I noticed the prices were listed on the wall and we're all different depending on the day of the week. Towards the back of the store there's another section with higher brand shoes like Coach, Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo. Some shoes have a discount at 35% off. After looking for about an hour, I found a cute pair of coach shoes with 35% off. My total transaction was $25 out the door. I will say the experience was great and I would definitely come back again. Maybe one suggestion I would make to the store is when they welcome the customer, maybe asking them if they've been there before, and if they had, then they could just say something like welcome back. However if you hadn't been there before, they can explain how the process works and the prices on the wall. read more

NOT TRUE!! This is literally the best shoe store. You won't spend more than about 25-30 bucks. They have quite a variety. Yes some look used because they are returns, but if you go on Mondays or beginning of the month, they will have all the new stuff that won't be there long because 21.99 for a brand new pair of shoes is AMAZING!!!! The last week of the month the shoes start going down in price. The last Sunday of the month they go down to 6.99!!! You will most likely find the slightly damaged or used stuff there but in my opinion its still much cheaper to spend about 10 bucks repairing a pair of 100 dollar shoes and only buying them for 6 bucks than it is to buy them at 100 bucks just cuz you're too lazy or stuck up like the girl below to do this yourself. Last month i spent about 130 bucks on 2 pairs of BRAND NEW guess heels, 1 BRAND NEW pair of Jessica simpson platforms, 2 pairs of BRAND NEW charled david wedges, and 1 BRAND NEW pair of rampage flats. So if you have the money to spend at Norstrom or any other store buying these same shoes at a higher price, be my guest.... read more

sometimes you can find nice shoes but some of them look nice, and once you see the bottom you can see that they had been repaired, they just paint the bottom of the shoes to pretend that they are new. one more thing they never refund your money even if the shoe has any defect. never go there. you just will waste your money. best deals in masrhalls. read more
