Hunter was able to single-handedly take the stress of relocating to a new city, down several notches. The next day, she even phoned to see if I had any follow-up questions and provided a resource for moving help should I need some extra muscle to help unload my Pod. Employees like Hunter are the thing that separate the Space Shop Self Storage from the universe of mediocre, run-of-the-mill storage facilities. Storage Facilities are a scam as most people already know. Public Storage is no exception. All self…read morestorage facilities operate off of the 3D's system. Divorce, Dislocated, and Disaster. If it wasn't for those unfortunate events, self storage wouldn't thrive the way that they do. With that being said, for the past 4 months I have gone to battle with these guys and with no remedy in sight. Each month I have made my rental payments (I currently have 3 units) those payments have not been posted/applied to my units. These payments have cleared my bank. I've given public storage my bank statements to prove these payments have in fact been made. Three months worth of payments for 3 units. Each unit averaging $130. That's almost $400 each month, making a grand total of $1200 for three months. Where did these payments go? Why isn't anyone investigating this? Although I have demanding that an investagation be conducted, one has still to this day not been done. Well that's not the only issue at hand. Being that their system shows no payments being made for three months, I go into default and liens are placed on all my units. That's an additional $250 per unit PLUS three months of late payments for 3 units. PLUS all of the stress and aggrevation. Yes I had to pay it all in full or my units were going up for auction. Nobody at public storage gave a damn, nobody at public storage looked into it. Nobody at public storage seemed to have an ounce of empathy for my situation that was soley caused by them. I had to pay nearly $4000 to save my belongings. At the beginning of my rant I stated it's been four months but I've only given you three months worth of a timeline. Here in the 4th month, after paying all that money, they "accidentally" vacated one of my units. A couple of units down from one of mine was the one they were supposed to vacate. Those people moved out and informed the front office. The front office entered in their system the wrong unit number. Which so happened to be one of mine. Later that afternoon public storage employee go to the unit to make sure it's cleared out and swept so it can be available for the next customer. They drill out my personal lock rolled up the bay door and seen the unit has not been fully emptied as implies. They finish emptying it out and place it as available. This was MY UNIT! Still nothing has been done! NOTHING! I am currently taking all the necassary steps to take them to court.

We pay $50 a month for this storage and it's covered in trash and the elevators barely work. So again I highly recommend looking somewhere else. Our furniture was supposed to stay on the truck til it went to our new home the manager guaranteed my husband. The furniture was wrapped at that point. when they unloaded there was BLACK streaks all over my couches. my big couch was broken in the center. there is black dust all over the couches. They broke four bookshelves. several pieces of glass cause there is glass all throughout as I unloaded. The topper is while they were in my home and used the restroom one of them left a middle finger on my bathroom wall in the black dust. They offered @$200 to make things right which we have not accepted. The men talked non stop and goofed off. as I stated they were hired til 4:30. They said they would call me 3-4 days before the move to go over details with me, that never happened. I finally called them a few days before the move, where someone immediately and very rudely told me that they couldn't move me. They said they were booked up, and didn't have the men. Another guy then tried to tell me that it was an "IT issue" with their central office, not their fault so they couldn't do anything. Through trying to complain about this issue, I was connected back to them and spoke to somebody else. This time his excuse was that a "truck broke down" after I scheduled my move. I do not believe a single one of their ever-shifting excuses. Sure, they're giving me my deposit back and "taking responsibility", but none of that helps me when I have to be out of my place in less than a week. He just kept insisting that someone else can do it (and would not listen when I told him that I did the legwork already and that wasn't true). Do not book with this awful, scam of a company. They will cancel your move and completely screw you over and do nothing to make it right outside of the barest possible minimum.
