I reviewed this company two years ago. Gave them one star then. They deserve a lower rating but one star is as low as you can rate. I am complied to post another review. This company is the worse of the worst. I have been a customer of the Shallotte location for over 17 years. With as many as 16 units rented at a time. Paid literally over a hundred thousand dollars in rent there. The staff is nice but the company is as bad as it gets. As an example. We were recently moving out of a couple of our big units there and checked with their office to see how long I had until the rent was due on a certain unit. They said that unit was not due for some time. We moved stuff from a unit into that unit and at the end of the day they said they made a mistake and the unit was actually due today! ( These units cost over three hundred dollars a month. We found there is plenty of new storage companies with better rates and we are trying to get out of all our units at Prime. ) They said because it was their mistake they would get us an extra day to move everything back out. Do you know the staff was written up for giving us the extra day. As much money we have given them you would think that they would be more understanding. No not Prime. Their fees go up almost every month. These are harsh people. I have many similar complaints I could talk about. I have been a business owner for over forty years. I try to treat people with the golden rule. There are plenty of decent companies to work with. Don't use Prime!!! You will regret it. read more

Employees are wonderful, understanding but the security is not good at all. To many break ins, not enough camera footage to cover anything. One camera at the gate is not enough. Detective and Investigator mentioned fighting with this place about needing more cameras on the locks with all the theft going on here. I pay to much for a small building with no security at all. I've had a unit at 2 places over the past 8 years an never experienced a problem until coming to this place. Now I have nothing left worth taking in my unit an fighting insurance company just to get a portion of things taken!!! Cooperate sucks. This is not how you run a place​ read more

Great option to choose for storage. Not only is it fast and extremely easy to get a storage unit but you are also able to go at any hour unlike some storage places. Best experience I've had so far with any storage unit and the employees are super friendly and can give you a great laugh read more

We moved out of our storage unit on Dec 10th of 2022, we told the manager we was moving out, he said to leave the door open, the storage payment came out the same day of move out and they processed it anyways, after multiple phone calls to management with no return calls and 2 months later they stated that they would not refund the 200 plus dollars that came out on the 10th, the day we moved out, because we didn't give a notice, although we did. They like to take you money, so basically we got charged for a whole month for 10 hrs of storage. They claimed we moved out on the 14th, that's when's they did there walk through of all storage units. Very bad management! Does not return phone calls. read more

The facility was fine while we were renting it. However, we have notice we were moving out, Paid all rent and fees, then cleaned our unit out and advised we were out. Manager acknowledged we were no longer renting unit. A month later, we receive a notice from a collection agency for $300+! When I call, they explain it's for unpaid rent at the storage facility. I tell them what happened. They say contact the site manager. I do, and she says it's been turned over to collections now so there's nothing that can be done! No bill, no notices, no anything, and all bills/rent was paid and all notice was given. Do not rent from these people! They are crooks! read more

This is no longer Omni storage and Connie no longer works there. Connie was great, friendly and professional. We prepaid for 6 months with Omni storage and rented 2 conditioned units and 1 not conditioned. We extended our rental to a total of 8 months Our movers emptied out the non conditioned unit and 1 of the conditioned units the other day and told the office because they thought we would get a little refund since we still had 10 days until our prepaid rent was up. I went today to finish cleaning out the last air conditioned unit and noticed our other air conditioned was already rented. I went into the office to tell them I was out of our last unit and to ask when we would get our small refund. This is when I met Penny. I was informed we would not get a refund. I stated I had a problem with that considering they already rented one of the units. I stated that this was double dipping since I have 10 days left. Penny argued the point stated our movers told them we were out of the unit so they rented it. I stated that Connie told us we would get a refund if we were out early. That is when I was told Connie no longer works there. Our movers were not told we would not get a refund. I found Penny to be rude and unprofessional. I asked that our last day be noted as the last day of our contract because I do not consider this double dipping practice to be fair. I stated I was a dissatisfied customer and left the office. As I was getting into my car Penny came out and told me that if I did not leave my lock on the unit they will consider it abandoned. I told here I was not putting my lock back on it and she said well then it is abandoned and stormed back in the office. If the policy is you don't get a refund for leaving early we'll ok, it is more of the principle. If they rent my unit out when I still have tine on it that is double dipping. If this practice is not illegal it certainly is not in the spirit of good customer service. I have paid for a unit that has 10 days left and now I cannot use it. Sorry for the long review but you need to know in my experience those good reviews of Omni storage and Connie were not applicable. I would look for a different storage unit. I was a good paying customer for 8 months and left with the feeling I was being ripped off. read more

I moved out of my unit 6 weeks ago after having paid for an extra few months in advance. The on-site manager agreed that I was owed $155 refund for the advance rent, and said it would be coming in a week and a half to 2 weeks. Now, 6 weeks later, after multiple phone calls, plus an assurance in writing that the refund is due, I still don't have the money and my phone calls are apparently going into a circular file. No one has any answer now on when, or even IF, my money will be refunded. Do not, under any circumstances, paid for anything in advance to this company. In fact, I would suggest not doing business with them at all!! read more
