My mother in law very kindly backed (at speed) into the front of my car a couple of weeks ago. I should write a scathing review of the insurance companies after this experience (if I pay a large premium every year and have a $1000 deductible, and then can't use my insurance to pay when I have an accident without being penalized later on, what's the point of having insurance exactly? Anyways, I end up paying premiums and for any damage done). However, apart from insurance companies and my mother in law, this was a great experience. Decided to take my car to Prime Time collision center as recommended by my brother, who recently had some work done to his car by them (luckily insurance paid for his). When I took my car, I dealt with Mick, who thoroughly looked at my car and provided me with a reasonable estimate. Upon telling him about the incident, mother in law, yada yada, and how my brother had referred me and that my insurance would not pay, he was kind enough to give me a discount, which was really nice. In any instance, I took my car back then next day and he said he would have it ready within 10 days and surprisingly, as opposed to other shops I've dealt with in the past, the car was ready in 9. Couple months back my new Tahoe was rear ended while entering the freeway. The other party was found to be at fault and we both had Geico insurance coverage. Long story short, from the very beginning, both my adjuster as well as the other driver's (both Geico), kept pushing for me to take my car to the nearest Caliber Collision center since Geico called them a "preferred" body shop. However, preferred, in this is just a fancy way of describing a cheap and quick repair facility which the insurance company has contracted with and pays a fraction compared to a reputable shop. This I found when I did some quick research online. Furthermore, they were offering to put me in a economy rental car in the interim. However, upon the said research, I respectfully declined their offer to take it to Caliber and decided to go with Prime Time collision, which had the highest ratings online, both in quality and numerosity. My initial meeting with Mick at PT was very smoothly and he informed me that an economy rental car was not acceptable, thus they were supposed to provide me with a comparable large SUV. Based on his advise, I spoke to Geico and they hesitantly upgraded my rental. In closing, I picked up my car couple hours ago and it looks brand new. Besides the quality repair, they had also sent my car out to be fully detailed (see after pic). I was very pleased with the service I got from this body shop. I didn't know where to take my car so i looked on yelp and this place was literally a few blocks from my house. The guy from enterprise got there early to pick me up so they dropped me off to pickup my rent a car personally. The car was done in a very timely manner and looks brand new.
