I love getting boba tea on a hot day so we came here for lunch on a Monday afternoon. There wasn't anyone else dining in, so there wasn't a line or the time to buy to scope the menu, but that was okay. The lady at the counter was super nice and helpful with suggested sandwiches that she likes and that are popular. The space was also cute and well decorated, so it would be a nice place to sit and have lunch, but we were on a mission and had to get our orders to-go. I was surprised to see that they had traditional bahn mis on the menu complete with pâté. Even in Austin (where I live), places will Americanize the sandwiches by not including pâté. So, I got one of those and a Thai tea with boba. You can tell the boba is prepared fresh because the boba had a nice chew to them and they're warm. (If you didn't know, the tapioca pearls are simmered in a simple syrup first before you add them to the tea.) The tea itself wasn't too sweet, which I found welcoming, but if you are looking for the highly sweetened condensed milk flavor of a standard Thai tea, you won't find that here. The traditional banh mi had a great flavor to it, but my only complaint is that it seemed light on the meat compared to what I'm used it. I would definitely come back and try some other tea flavors or even the Korean corn dogs. I was shocked to see them on the menu and didn't notice until it was too late. If you're an adventurous eater, I'd suggest checking those out sometime!

Guests are welcomed in by the inviting store front and once inside the aromatic smells bring you to some of the most delectable bites experienced in quite some time. On a whim, we stopped after lunch which is unusual because we both had filling lunches and skipped any offers of dessert at the restaurant. But, there was something about the old fashioned black and white signage and exterior that lured us in and once the amazing smells hit us, we were destined for a purchase. After consulting the helpful bakers, we decided on a gluten free peanut butter banana muffin, three turtle cookies and a cinnamon roll. Keep in mind we had turned down desserts at lunch! Our eclectic assortment was beautifully boxed and we left the bakery. It should be noted that the box remained sealed for half of the 100 mile trip home. We broke down and shared one of the turtle cookies--a chocolate chunk cookie with a mound of pecans in the middle and caramel drizzled over the top of the cookie. It was heavenly! I did not get a bite of the muffin but my husband and son apologized. Once they started eating it they could not stop. The cinnamon roll was good but we will load up on cookies and muffins on our next trip to Norfolk. The industrial feeling interior of the bakery had indoor seating toward the front and display cases in the back. Clean and bright, this local bakery has customer service figured out. We will be returning to Norfolk but we will skip lunch and head to the bakery first!
