It was not inexpensive but I like knowing my food doesn't have GMO's so worth it. I have to say I had never actually cooked a grass-fed steak myself but the lady there told me to be careful with it since it could easily dry out and get tough if over-cooked. She also said to cook it in half the time as a regular steak and she was definitely right about this. I Googled how to cook and everyone said to either slow cook or sear with Olive oil, s&p on it. I just happened to have cooked some bacon and decided to use that as my fat to sear it. I almost overcooked to well done and that was with taking half off the normal time I would have used for a medium. However, the flavor was outstanding and worth an hour to get more. Next time I will sear 3 min, flip and stick in hot oven or grill for 3, then let rest for about 7. By the way, I bought eggs too and they were also great.

Unfortunately, since the business got sold and had a change in owners, things have gone downhill big time. The sausages are far from what they used to be. Casings are not properly closed, they don't taste the same and their Wienerle look wrinkly and outright unappetizing + they are oversmoked. Very sad to see an institution go downhill and change that quickly from being an authentic German butcher to being a subpar spot that has none of the craftsmanship and quality that they used to have. We stopped into the Farm Store first- they have a huge selection of meats, milk products, breads, etc. Of course I picked up a loaf of everything bread.
