It is located on the Nevada/California border. You never realize there is a golf course in the middle of nowhere. A nice golf course, but the greens were in bad shape and some bare spots in the fairway. Maybe it could be due to the abnormal long winter we had this year in 2023. The day we played in April was the first day we had in the high 70s. There are 2 golf courses. The Lakes and the Desert course. We played the Lakes course. Nice course. Some of the holes are picturesque, and some are challenging. I will definitely play this course again. read more

We have been going to Primm Valley for many years. We had been disappointed in how it had gone downhill. We decided to give it one more chance this year and we were amazed at what great shape the course is in! The Lakes course is in fantastic shape. The fairways are full of nice green grass and the greens are in great shape. We were told they are working on the Desert Course and hope it will be ready this year. The Grill only has minimal items and they are understaffed, but the people that are there are working hard to make sure you enjoy your day. I am sure these issues will be taken care of as the word gets out and they get busier. read more

This review is for the Primm Desert course played in Dec 2021. The positives: The staff was nice and helpful. The driving range had plenty of space to warm up. The negatives: The course is in absolutely terrible shape. It looks like the course has not been maintained for years. There were animal droppings everywhere. The fairways were yellow not green. There's not too many water hazards to worry about since the creeks and rivers were dry. The greens were in horrible condition. Not sure if from frost or disease but it was not great. I'm posting this as information for those debating to play this course. read more

This golf course is beyond the shit show, it's a horseshit show. The Nevada State high school championships are being held there and the golf course is completely unprepared. No carts for spectators and it's taking an hour for each group to get through a hole. Clearly, this golf course is poorly managed and operated. They don't give a shit about their patrons and have no idea how to operate a tournament. Save your gas money and your time and go somewhere else. read more

Played Primm Desert course this past weekend, we drove 4 hours to play , we purchased the Underpar and were told we could not use it ? Why ? We didn't really get a answer except no . After driving we didn't want to argue. We played and no marshal, group in front of us hit 3 balls a piece and played 5 hour round . Course conditions were horrible. For the price you pay , 100 bucks, you would think you get a better deal . Or just some good service. They got one star for the free range balls . Pass on this place . I'm not sure what happened a few years ago that caused bad reviews, but I was just here in April 23 2024 and the place was awesome. Tee boxes, fairways and almost all of the greens were immaculate. The people are super friendly. You get free water in an iced cooler, free gps, bag service from car to cart and the cart return guy even offered to clean our clubs for us. I had been here 4-5 years ago and it was just as amazing as I remember it. Please give this place another chance if you haven't been there lately. read more

Played primm valley the other week...standing on the first tee box, course looked like a championship style course, fairways green beautiful scenery...but oh boy the greens are in bad bad shape, not sure what needs to be done to fix these but if you take the game as seriously as I do get ready to add 10-15 strokes to your round due to the condition of the greens. My suggestion would to Just completely shut down one course and get them back to normal..whatever needs to be done! Or if not $65 is to much $ to have those conditions on the greens...even at $40 id be willing to somewhat look past it...other than that, beautiful course, great staff! Beautiful golf course tucked about 40 minutes outside Las Vegas. It has two beautiful 18 hole courses. Personally desert course is more challenging than the lake course. Both courses are well maintained and staffs are very friendly. Love the golf price here. I think it's under priced. It's about $50 during the peak hours on the weekdays. Players are usually never backed up... I never played here for more than 4 hours per round of golf. FYI try to get out here early during weekend due to heavy traffic from Las Vegas area going towards California. Also remember, the lake course has a lot of similarities like Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas ($799). I'm a Las Vegas resident and fanatical golfer. I often travel around the country and have played golf on literally hundreds of golf courses. Primm Valley golf club is HANDS DOWN....THE WORST GOLF COURSE I have EVER played. I played the Lakes Course on 03/13/2021. The staff was very friendly however the conditions are horrendous and the Lakes course was basically unplayable. The owners should be embarrassed & the superintendent (if there is one) should be fired. The tee boxes were patches of dirt. The greens were destroyed. They had huge patches of turf in some areas and bare dirt patches in others. They were actually punching and dressing the greens with sand AS WE WERE PLAYING. The fairways were also filled with bare dirt patches and almost zero grass on them. You WILL BE DISAPPOINTED and feel cheated out of your hard earned money and valuable time, if you "play" here. I can only speak to the food. I'm stuck in this godforsaken hell hole because I have a job nearby for a few days. Their bar and grill is a highlight in this restaurant desert. At the casino the only restaurant that is open daily is overpriced and not that satisfactory. Now I can only speak to the cold cut sandwich that I had, which was turkey and the club sandwich that I had, which was the best club sandwich I've ever had. Their side salad has thought put into it. It's not just crappy wilted iceberg lettuce. Their prices, compared to the crap you get at the Primm casino, or that rip off Chevron station, are very fair.The other restaurants around here should pay heed . read more

The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it has 2 courses. The Lakes Course is usually in pretty good condition. The Desert Course, where we are to play a 2-Day State Tournament in a couple of weeks, is in the worst condition of ANY course I've ever played! Patches on the fairways should be marked Ground Under Repair, as should all of the bunkers! It seems they've added a bit of sand, here and there, but have not spread it out! The flags on the greens are either tattered or missing! There are dead and dying Yuccas and pine trees. We played there on Tuesday, 9/28, and couldn't have been more disappointed! My partner wrote: Raggedy torn up flags or no flags at all on a green side pole. Fairways dry, dead or dug out hole under repair or not being repaired. Trash and garden buckets at the tee boxes. Played the Lakes course yesterday where we were charged FULL PRICE. Wonderful layout, terribly managed, terrible conditions. Wonderful Layout... I love the track. It's a very good test. You'll use every club in the bag and have to do a lot of thinking. The holes are a very good mix of variety, shot selections, and elevation changes. There are plenty of hazards to navigate and overall it's an excellent blend. Terribly Managed... 1) On a day the sun rises at 5:26 the first tee time is at 7AM! Got there at 6AM and the 'pro' didn't get there until 6:45. The 'starter' had no clue when the 'pro' would get there so we had to wait to pay until just before teeing off. 2) Despite the first tee time being 7AM, while we waited for the 'starter' to actually manage the tee and tell us when we could start, two groups ran out ahead of us. 3) At 10AM on a Sunday morning the course was filled with workers...all doing just about nothing. And, the few things they were doing were both annoying to the golfers and not addressing the terrible conditions of the course. Terrible Conditions: 1) The greens were the absolute worst. SLOW and UNEVEN except where there were large patches of just plain old DIRT. Balls were bumping up in the air and shooting off line all day. You didn't feel you could make a 2 footer. 2) The traps looked as though they hadn't been raked in weeks. They have little sand that was firmly packed except for the places where there were gaping gouges and holes. 3) The tee box grass was similar in height as the rough. I use extra long tees and I still had to just barely get the tee in the ground to get the ball teed up the very minimum height I like. As you stand there at address you can feel yourself sinking down into the grass. YUK. We considered playing the course in reverse...tee off from the greens and putt to one of the tee markers. 4) On at least 3 holes I hit the center of the fairway only to end up on pure dirt. Overall, my instinct here is that the 'powers that be' at Primm Valley know the course is going away soon and simply don't give a damn any more. Over the last 2 years we've played here 7 or 8 times. Each time things are a little worse and the management is more and more disconnected to the goings on at the course. Well, that is shear speculation on my part, but either way I won't be going back for a very long time if ever. This course could be a real gem but it is being run into the ground. There are MANY better options in the Vegas area. read more

On golf vacations to Las Vegas, I have played this course many times before, never with any issues. This time however, the course was in horrible shape. The greens had bare spots that had been dyed to look green, the bunkers had not been raked in weeks seemingly and there were piles of donkey crap in seven different places including on two tee boxes. Worse, we had booked the tee time after speaking with a pro shop attendant who claimed the course was in " the best shape he had ever seen." We were lied to and deceived and after the round, were not granted any type of compensation. Too bad, the layout is good and the course is challenging. read more

I played here on the way back from Vegas. The first thing to note is that the course is in California and does not seem to be officially connected to the Nevada resorts at Stateline. I played as a duo with a buddy, the rest of the group that was with us in Vegas was either in a hurry to get home or didn't want to wake up. It was easy to get a tee time here, and we set up a mid morning time to hopefully beat the heat. The Lakes Course was full, so we played the Desert Course. Unfortunately, the morning we showed up they blew a water main, so the facilities were a bit out of commission, but that is not a normal instance. The pro shop is friendly, and there are attendants when you drive up to set you in a cart. Coolers are included, which is a definite need in the desert. The GPS is an older basic unit, with text distances. This is really the only thing that needs a major upgrade. My buddy has an iPod and I have a Droid, and we both had golf GPS apps, so we had the visuals, but having it on the course would be great. We had a lot of luck that the heat was not too high, even in the middle of July, and there was really no wind in play here. A few mild gusts, but no rip roaring winds. The course itself is in great shape, with the waste areas of desert not coming too much into play unless you are well off line. It is far more of a traditional course than a desert course where you have to carry waste areas on every hole. I was rarely off the grass, and I spray the ball quite a bit. In addition to the desert waste areas, water comes into play in a few spots as well. In addition to the course, the practice area is great, a huge driving range with free practice balls, plus you are hitting off grass. I guess I need to get away from So. Cal Muni practice areas where everyone makes you hit ff mats. I would definitely play here again. At 45 minutes, it is worth the drive from Vegas for me as well. read more

Wow. Been coming to this coarse for 20 plus years it was beautiful. Played it today. It was terrible. From mounds of what looked like horse crap on every hole to bad greens and fairways. I don't know who runs it now but charging us 50 to play that is a crime. No starter nobody to take cart after our round. The fairways were a mess. Wow for $23 US you can get a pretty nice golf course in Vegas! I played the Primm Valley Dessert golf course! What a bargain! Nice challenging layout with resort quality golf conditions. It's a bit of a trek. About 40 minutes outside of downtown Vegas, but the course is worth the drive! The greens we played on were lightening fast! I did ok today. I shot a 96 so I can't complain. Next time I'll do better! read more

Went here a couple weeks ago.... I played poorly but the course was in really good condition and the weather was perfect. (We were on the Lakes side which sounds like there might be crazy water holes... but it's really not that bad.) For women, the tee boxes were well placed... and gave you a good set up to the hole. The greens were in good shape. My short game was a mess but my drives were good and the fairways are pretty forgiving. I only lost 1 ball.... which is a miracle ... and that was when I hit one into the water. We ate lunch afterwards at the clubhouse... sat outside overlooking a really pretty hole on the Desert course. Beautiful way to end the day... They make a really good bloody mary... and their Chicken Wrap was Great. The chicken was pulled / shredded kicken and the chicken was warm like it just got off the grill. The wrap was big enough to share if you wanted .... I definitely want to go back again and give it another go... but will now wait til Sep/Oct as it is getting too hot to play out there.... read more

Primm Valley has 2 18 hole courses, the Desert and the Lakes courses. Both are good layouts. I slightly prefer the Lakes course. Primm seems to be hit or miss with the course conditions sometimes so that knocks off a star. But the facilities are pretty decent but also have been allowed to rundown a bit. But it's worth the 30 minute drive from Vegas for the variety. read more

This review is for their Golf Facility Only! About 40 Miles from downtown Las Vegas Primm Valley Golf course is located in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Once you get there, two courses to choose from the Desert Course or the Lakes Course. This review will be for their Lakes Course only. Clubhouse is your standard resort clubhouse nothing special and their driving range is huge out into the middle of a deep drop off. Putting green is pretty cool that narrow and lightning fast which is unfair as the course is not as fast as the putting green not good if you're trying to get used to the speed of the greens. Lakes course is really quite beautiful with tremendous aesthetics on every hole. Simply outstanding views and from a looks perspective it's tremendous. Bunkers are deep and sand is hard as rock more like waste bunkers rather than traditional type sand which for me a good sand player a big disadvantage with the club skipping into the ball rather than a nice splash. The real downside was the fairways which although recently over seeded about a month ago, they were not in any great shape. Wet or barren with patchy spots and no roll off good drives due to the length of the grass in some places. Greens themselves were excellent, but speeds not equal to the practice green causing some early headaches. We passed the desert course on the way through to the driving range and that looked like it was much better condition as a point of reference. Here is the dilemma? Do you give this 3 stars cause of the gorgeous look of each hole and layout or do you knock it down to 2 and say No Thanks. Biting insects and green flies I guess not a course issue along with the fact there is NO WATER anywhere on the golf course to consume makes me go to the 2 star rating here. Sorry there are much better golfing options out here without the 40 mile hike to Stateline. Have to give this one a pass. read more

Best $20 I ever spent on golf. Started on the Desert course, but since we were a 2-some and their was a 4-some in front of us, we moved to the Lakes. The marshal told us that the Desert course was in better condition, but the Lakes was a good shape itself. I like the GPS in the carts because nowadays there are so few sprinkler heads with yardages, you always have to guess whether you walk or ride. (I think this is how they are making golfers buy gps or rangefinders) The layout was nice and for the heat, the fairways, tee areas and greens were in very good shape. It does get windy in this "middle of nowhere" course that is literally in a city called Nipton, CA about 4 -5 miles from Stateline. Don't make the mistake of going to the casino and thinking it's next door, because it's not. All you need to know is look for an exit called Yates and follow the signs. My only reasons for not giving this place 5 stars are there's no one working on the course, that means we saw the refreshment cart once, the put 4-somes, mixed with 2-somes and singles, so play was a bit slow at times and this is the land of the dragonflies. Trust me, play there and find out yourself. I would definitely play this place again on my way to or from Vegas. It's a great course for an even better price! read more

The Primm Valley Golf Course is not following Covid Guidelines for social distancing. Their website has no information on how they are keeping people safe during Covid, like most courses in the area and the pro-shop said nothing about riding together when we made the reservation or when we paid. They are forcing people to ride two people to a cart when none of the players are part of the same house hold. The guys who clean your clubs at the end, came right up close to us without wearing masks. Rakes are in bunkers for anyone to touch. I was on the first tee with my ball tee'd up, and an employee drove up and rudely told us we would have to pair up on a cart, interrupting my pre-shot routine. I have played over 30 rounds around Vegas during Covid at public and private facilities, and never been asked to share a cart (even with those ridiculous plastic dividers that don't fully protect you when you are sitting a foot away). They said the only way I could ride solo was to pay an additional $25. The course was in very poor shape with many bare dirt spots on the greens, fairways and tee boxes. Plus there were lots of large piles of horse/donkey crap around the greens, in the fairways, and on the cart paths, with no effort to clean them up. IN SUMMARY this course is: Ignoring Covid Guidelines, is in poor condition not worth the $59 local greens fees. I will not play at Primm again with so many much better option closer to Vegas. read more

Came here to watch a college tournament our son was participating in. Requested to Rent a cart because my wife needs a cane to walk and they would not accommodate her. I played the Desert course on September 28. I was told that the course was coming out of overseeding. While the course was in reasonably good condition I expected it to be in superb condition. Some of the greens had some dead spots and one green had a plug/cup pulled out and an irrigation flag next to it. On multiple greens the pin flags were torn. Some were severely torn. I know from experience that these flags are replaced during overseeding at most courses. We received a good deal to play Primm Valley Golf/$100 for a foursome. It is such a long drive to play this course it would need to be in a lot better condition for me to get out there again. CoyoteSprGC is a course that's a similar distance from my house and is usually in better condition. One more thing I bought a drink in the clubhouse. I asked if there was a drink cart on the course the girl said yes. The drink cart came out on the first hole. I did not need a drink then. We never saw her again. Very disappointed! I got to play the Lakes and the Desert course in 2 days and they both are great courses. I liked the Lakes a little bit better but both are great and i cant wait to play them again. We first played Sunday on the Desert and a 1:00 tee time and we didnt see another group out there at all. We had the course to ourselves. I was crazy windy. We played the Lakes on monday at 8:30 and we had a very slow 4some in front of us so the 2 of us took our time and messed around on the greens after we holed out to waste time. One of my favorite golf locals, Primm offers what I think to be one of the best values in golf. Both courses are amazing, but I definitely prefer the valley course. It's beautiful, with some of the best maintenance available. Well worth the stop on a trip to or from Vegas. A+ Practice facility is Amazing. read more
