Not only did David communicate effectively regarding Gabe's arrival time (something I've come to notice is rare in the industry), but they came out on the same day in response to an emergency. Despite my emergency last minute appointment, Gabe showed up in a timely manner and took his time to explain what was wrong to me before doing the work. David and Gabe both provided me with a reasonable and competitive quote. I really appreciated how Gabe took his time to explain things to me and answered all my questions. He even took time to teach me a few things about what was wrong and why/how he was fixing what he was fixing. Gabe put absolutely everything back the way he found it after replacing all the outlets in the circuit with the problem, even helping us move the refrigerator to where we wanted it after replacing the outlet. Update on electric work: Dave and his guys have done amazing work around my house. After they changed out the kitchen light fixtures, I asked them to change out some other light fixtures, replace a wall heater, change light switches around the house, and replace old sockets. Five Stars for the electricians at Primo! They took wiring and breakers from a 1949 house and brought us into 2022! They are responsive and awesome with their quotes and service. I was clear that honesty was important and that I could not afford the typical "Rabbit Hole" of more work and more money after the initial call. Primo kept it real with me. David, Mark and all of the team are great electricians and very detailed and clean. They even made a little time to calm the nerves of our anxious pet that was interested in their work. Exorbitantly expensive. I needed a 30amp breaker changed to a 20 amp breaker for a line to the outhouse and I was charged 245 for replacing ONE breaker and "troubleshoot/testing. " for less than one hour of work, I paid 2-3 times as much as I should have to replace one breaker. The description says primo electric offers free estimate and service call however I was charged full price for everything. It was a ridiculously high amount. Even for just service calls for electricians can go up to 75 dollars but to replace one breaker was really high. It is likely I will never come back. Update: he is extremely angry and took it very personal that I gave an low review for his business. Look at this extremely unprofessional reply from a business owner. Update #2: He private messages me this time, I have posted a screenshot. Thiis is an example of how angry the business owner is. I have never discussed anything with David regarding my personal life so I'm not sure what he is referring too about family . This type of unprofessionalism stems from the ego of the business owner. I live in a condo which requires a city permit for my recessed lighting and he was able to pull them seamlessly while also communicating directly with my HOA. I've spent the last 2 years doing extensive renovation work on my Boyle Heights family home. So I know a thing or two about contractors. This includes having dealt with general contractors, electricians and plumbers who have lied extensively. So I can tell you, that Primo Electric, per David and his team, where honest, communicative, reasonable in price, and performed a solid job. THE WORK: Primo was hired to install a 220v line, about 8ft from the main electric box, and a 30ft of conduit to install a ring doorbell. Straight forward job, yet one for which I'd received prices about $300 more (just for the outlet alone!). I don't like to focus on cost, but all of you know the sting of inflation; and most of us are hurting. ISSUES: There was one problem in how the 220v outlet was upside down, in relation to a connector plug. After sending David a picture and asking for it to be swiveled to a different position, David sent one of his guys back to turn it around the next day. DONE. MOVING FORWARD: I intend to hire Primo Electric again in the future. First, for the honesty. Second, because they were responsive. When I first contacted David, we started talking through text and we agreed on everything through the text, as though we have been working together for a long time. In my line of work trust is hard to come by and that goes both ways. If you tell a contractor you just bought the house, they will ask for proof that the house is yours and then they will ask for a consultation fee and then schedule you out for a week. Because they are afraid you're wasting their time. This never happed with David. We agreed on a price through pictures and text and he never once tried to upsell me while working on the project. Hired these guys form the Home Depot list of providers which showed they had good reviews as well as checking their Yelp reviews. Still I should of done more research. I hired them to upgrade my breaker panel and to add a dedicated outlet to my bedroom. Well it seemed as if they knew what they were doing they even had someone in my small attic space to run the line. Even though there guy brook the board to cover the attic and a small crack on the ceiling I did not say anything. After a few weeks three outlets on a line stopped working I called to have someone check to see what happened. They dis send someone but they said it wasn't their fault it wasn't working I told him how come you guys were the only ones who ever worked on them and I never had a problem with them until now. They said they could fixit for an additional $300 which involved breathing the wall and even them they did not know if it was going to work. Needless to say after paying for the initial work I couldn't pay anymore so they left and I never heard from them again. By the way they say they had a 3 year guarantee but as you can tell they do not honor their word. I do not believe they were all licensed and trained properly as I believe the real electrician showed up later in the day to check their work. Let me start by saying this truly hurts my soul to have to make this review. The guys that came were great, as was the owner. They all worked their asses off, and in the heat nonetheless. However, after they left I noticed that the ONLY REASON I LOOKED FOR AND HIRED electricians, was still NOT WORKING!!! They did a bunch of other crap that probably needed to be done at some point in time, however my initial problem not only wasn't fixed, it wasn't addressed AT ALL!!! So disappointing. So I'm editing this after discussing things with the owner. Even though they completely dropped the ball on the initial issues, the work they did to the overcrowded and burned out panel, not to mention the dedicated lines they ran, does deserve a better rating. He also offered to follow up on the initial issues so hopefully something will come of that. I'll update if that happens. Summary: Amazing work quality, responds to emergencies on a weekend, reasonable price. My 30-year old circuit breaker caught fire on a Friday night this August during the heat wave, and I had visitors staying over including my child and their child, so I was worried about the heat (and the food in the fridge). After calling several services that couldn't come out on the weekend, Dave answered my call on the first ring even though he was out of town supporting his family! His cousin Jesse came out within an hour (he doesn't live close) and put in a temporary circuit for the weekend which was a lifesaver. The actual new breaker was very very reasonable (so says my cousin, an experienced construction worker and handyman). Upfront quotes on everything, no financial surprises. The installation was not straightforward due to the original construction, but they knew exactly what to do. A little glitch with the door afterwards and we fixed it over video.
