Efran and Christian are the best in the business. They showed up on time and began to troubleshoot. They explored all the possibilities using their tools. Once they identified the problem they got right to work. Once they solved and fixed one issue, they went right to the next one (I had two separate issues). They communicated and showed me where the problem was. I cannot say more nice things about these two. They replaced the wiring and patched up their work. Do not hesitate to hire Efren and his team at Martinez Electric! We had him come out to install a new panel upgrade and a couple of bath fan/heater combos. From the very beginning he stood out from the competition. He was the ONLY electrician to let us know we needed to get dwp out to give us an approval for placement before giving us an accurate quote. Once we went ahead with the work, he and his workers were efficient, friendly, and polite. Best of all, they did a great job! They even fixed some substandard work done by a previous electrician. They also alerted us to a water leak under our house (had been patched poorly previously) AND a gas leak at our water heater! I was dreading finding someone to fix these problems, especially after the gas company made us turn off our water heater! Luckily, Efren referred someone who came and fixed it all, for a fair price, on a Saturday! The panel upgrade looks great and passed inspection. We asked for his patchers to patch the stucco and they did a great job, and it matches the existing stucco perfectly. The bath fan/heaters were a difficult task because of our plaster ceiling and walls, but they managed to do such preside work that no patching was needed! The last company that we hired, left huge uneven holes all over our house, and told us to learn to patch it ourselves. One of the workers accidentally dropped a drill and even though he had laid down drop cloths, it gouged a tile. I alerted Efren when I saw, and he apologized profusely and immediately scheduled someone to come out and fix it. We used this company for installing a few lights and switches a few months ago, paid about $1200. Last month, one of the switches they installed stopped working. We scheduled these guys to come out. First, they no showed, and only when we asked if they were coming they replied that they had an emergency. They re-scheduled for that afternoon. Without even coming in, they said it was too hot to work. It was 87 degrees outside. After they left, we get a text that the job will cost $200. They never even assessed the problem? They claim it's because we got our roof redone, but no one ever went into the attic, and there is a whole wood layer that covers the attic when shingles are replaced. Nothing else in the whole house was affected, but this single switch they installed failed. Not impressed with how this situation has been handled. They asked us to write a good review for them last time, but I delayed. Glad I did, knowing how they truly work. read more

Efrain is awesome! He runs a family business, which I love supporting. I grew up in a bicycle shop with my parents so I know what it takes to make it with a small mom and pop business. In this case it's a pop and pop.... pop senior and pop junior. The family works together and it's nice to see him training the younger generation to one day take over. A good, honest, hard working team that will get the job done for a decent price and not overcharge you. This is my 3rd home and as a single woman, believe me, most contractors think women are stupid and jack up their prices. This was NOT the case with Efrain. Also, he arrived when he said he would which is a rare commodity these days, and to boot, they vaccummed after themselves so there was no big mess left. I had him come out a few times. First one night it was raining and huge power pole a block down the road BLEW UP and literally turned off all the power to the block. I heard it explode and then heard the voomp when everything turned off in one swoop in my home. By the next day the power was back on to the block but 1 of my breakers and several of my outlets and some of my "power protection strips" had fried (hey, good news is they're only $20-50 a strip VS all my electronics that were hooked up to them that would've cost a couple grand to replace if they had fried - ALWAYS invest in those protection strips, I'm telling you!). So he came out and replaced the fried breaker and the fried outlets. Then I had him come out a 2nd time to hard wire some e-heaters (biggest waste of money I ever invested in in my lifetime, but totally not his fault) and he even created dedicated outlets for my "window a/c units" and these stupid e-heaters that I'm now going to return after making a complaint to the BBB about their false advertisement on their website, which means I'll need Efrain to come out a 4th time so he can unwire them all, but at least, as he reminded me, I have dedicated lines for the a/c's and since my house is on 110 (not 220), well, I was getting close to maxing out and didn't want anything plugged in the wrong outlet that sucks a lot of energy (such as one of the a/c's) and next thing you know, I've blown the breaker or worse, started a fire. The 3rd time he came out he installed an outdoor outlet (with a nice waterproof cover on it) so I could plug in my Christmas lights outside. Quick and easy and no huge bill, just an average price that was more than fair. Now I will be calling him for the 4th time to get him to unwire all the hard wired piece of doodoo e-heaters so I can return them and I will likely have him wire some security cameras and replace my flood lights while he's at it, and maybe add a sensor light for my front door. He is an honest, hardworking, fair priced man that will get your job done right! Go Efrain and team! Thank you for being fair and honest with me, and most importantly, timely and to your word! Such a great experience with Martinez Electric. I was in the middle of installing wall cabinets in our living room and since it was empty and very dark, I decided spur of the moment to get 5 recessed lights put in with dimmers. Martinez Electric came in at the lowest cost & was able to install the next day! They showed up at 8 AM (on-time) and finished the job within 2.5 hours. They made very clean holes in the ceiling. There was only one portion where the hole wasn't as clean but they patched it up. While they were working, they were also kind enough to clean my vacuum (it had a lot of stuff stuck in there..LOL) and even took off my base boards for me (I was prepping for the wall cabinets to go in). Came out and fixed what Powell electric broke. They came 8am the day after I texted them. They found a short where the ground was mashed up against the positive line. This hadn't been an issue before but after Powell pulled the switches out there was clearly a short. I had originally asked Powell about a three way switch that didn't work. They had left me with a hefty quote to fix. The Martinez guys had that fixed as well in 15 minutes and taped off the cables to prevent future grounding issues.
