They've got a huge selection of nail polishes, and the nail technicians are friendly. You're offered refreshments, the pedicure stations are a secluded oasis and everything looks very clean. The nail tools are opened from a sanitary pouch right in front of you. Pretty reassuring if you're a germaphobe. Manicurist did a great job on my nails. The skin around my nails is very dry, and manicures are sometimes very painful. Not this time! She worked slowly and diligently, and by the end, my nails were perfecto! Chiew is the best at the Greenpoint location; and Joey is the best at the Driggs location. Joey was my 1st technician and I love her she is amazing. I love her designs and she is allowed to do any type of design to my nails. The Greenpoint location is 2 blocks from my house so i started going to Chiew and I am so happy with her too. Last time I did the Matte nails and normally my nails come off after 2 weeks but these are staying on for a long time. It took me a long time to find Joey and now I found Chiew so I'm very happy. Please be aware that the prices are a little higher then the regular salsons you may go to in GP but it's worth it. read more

What can I say? This salon is top notch! I came in the door and I was greeted by a young man who took my name and phone number. He said my manicurist would be with me soon. He gave me her name. To let me know who would take care of me. I had a seat on the plush lounger and waited approximately 2 minutes. My manicurist greeted me with a hello and a smile---and off we went. The place is expansive and it does not feel like a factory! There is no rush. Once we got to the pedicure area, I was floored by how private/chic it was. She used a lemon on my feet to prep them before an outstanding scrub down with sugar and a light oil.Heaven!!! My manicurist was so detail oriented that after my massive scrub down she went back over my feet to go over spots that were not perfect! I love this place! I'll be back. A little pricey, but my mani and pedi always last a long time. They also patiently let me hem and haw over nail polish color trying on several. The scrub is nice and different than the other local nail salons. Tools are sterilized and some are completely new, but they look like they go on a metal tray that might be reused for all the customers? Not sure about the last part. read more

Huge selection of gel colours and most importantly, the manicurist (is that a word?) was meticulous, taking her time to ensure each nail was equal in length and that my cuticles were trimmed to perfection before applying the first coat. Walked in without an appointment for a gel mani and was accommodated right away. I do recommend making an appointment though unless coming in at a non-busy time. I absolutely love the atmosphere in this place - very laid back. Take your time picking out nail polishes from a very wide selection. Yes you can find Chanel, Dior, NARS etc nail polishes. A gel manicure is $35 but it's done to pure perfection. Each nail was done precisely to match. My nails were not filed off my length and filed perfectly squared. My cuticles were cut very delicately so that I don't have to worry about overgrowth. They also scrub your hands prior to nail polish application so they're nice and soft :) Very very happy with the service and already made an appointment for my next visit. read more

Went here for my first time last week. I got a regular pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicure was great! I am disappointed in the gel manicure. Within 3 days i started noticing chipping in the corners and I do not use my hands for work. Now all my fingers have the tips lifting. Pretty disappointing as this is an expensive place. read more

My go-to. I live a few blocks closer to other places, but walk a little as Primp & Polish is by far the best. Clean, sleek, spacious and relaxing atmosphere - no loud noise, no TVs, no salon fumes, etc. I get the basic mani & pedi, and sometimes go for a gel mani (my nails just don't love gel so it's special occasions only for that) The basic pedi feels luxurious compared to to those at other places, with lemon slices to exfoliate cuticles, signature sugar scrub, your choice of essential oil, and hot stones. All technicians I've had have done a great job. Everyone's quiet, but most are very warm once you start talking, and remember you, saying hello even if you're with another tech. I trust that I'll get a good quality service and so don't feel the need to book with just one person. Even bought a scrub for home - it's that good! read more

This is probably the best location of the Primp & Polish chain. It's huge and very clean. My toes were a horrible mess before coming here but Hana saved them! I came in for a classic pedicure ($27) but she was thorough and did an amazing job. My feet came back to life! When she started putting the color on I was so disappointed. Catching my disappointment Hana told me, "it's ok! We can pick a different color." She found me the peach color of my dream (Essie Shop til You Drop). I live much closer to the location on Driggs but I will travel further to this location. Also their prices are about 3$ less than the Driggs location. read more

the service is a hit or miss depending on who your nail technician turns out to be. that's my guess considering the girls beside me seemed to have a blast but i didnt. it was overpriced. the concierge was extremely sweet and fit me into their schedule last minute, for which im grateful, but the experience was lackluster. for a $20 manicure i expected a little more pampering, perhaps the option to select the scrub scent, but no. the scrub itself lasted 2 seconds. my tech's tools seemed clean, coming in a sealed plastic pack, but they were laid on top of a heavily used tool in the same tray. doesnt that defeat the purpose? the hand massage was forgettable. the cuticles were cleaned well, so i tipped generously, but there were minor specks left on my manicure. two girls beside me were offered quick dry spray twice and i was never offered once. i tipped well too, even though my tech was a bit abrasive. it wasnt a poor experience, but it never stood out either. read more

She was rude from the moment we walked in - no hello how are you, just "pick your color". Was so looking forward to coming to this place for the first time when my sister was visiting from out of town to treat her to what should've been a nice mani + pedi. I called to make an appointment on Sunday at 12 for a Monday appt at 315. When we showed up to our appt the lady said they had no record of the appt and weren't flexible to squeeze us in on behalf of their mistake. On top of that they accused me of lying about ever having an appt, rude. I was embarrassed and left without an appt for my sister and while she was visiting. This salon is beautiful with tall ceilings, lots of light, calm atmosphere, and it's very clean. Staff is very nice as well. They also have a huge selection of colors to chose from. For my pedi they used a fresh lemon wedge on my feet for a detox. They also did a massage with hot stones and put the stones under my feet for a few minutes, which felt AMAZING. Another thing I appreciated is that Tiffany asked me if I liked the colors I chose as soon as she put it on. And above all, my nails look perfect. God bless Primp & Polish. I went there the day after they opened and got my first gel mani/pedi for my wedding. They are fast, friendly, great at what they do and, most importantly, clean! Clean as in Apple Store sanitary. The place looks like a Genius Bar, but far more efficient :) Whenever I'm getting my nails done there I find myself staring longingly at the amazing graphic nail art demos by Chiew.
