Loulou is the best!!! I definitely recommend her! Shes friendly, attentive, patient, and detailed oriented. She took my neglected and damaged hair and turned it into the best asymmetrical bob that I envisioned (maybe even better!) She had been cutting my hair for awhile (I have always received great cuts) but I insisted on doing my own color because I had been doing it for years and it seemed healthy enough to me. But then I really screwed up the color during the beginning of the COVID shit down and when the lock down was lifted in 2020, I finally asked Loren to help me with the color. Background: My hair was up to my waist and my grey hair was out of control. As a new mom, I am on a tight budget and rarely have time to take care of myself -- when I finally decided to have a new look, I had such a traumatizing experience that I ran out of the salon crying. My cut/style was nowhere near how I described it and she colored my hair black instead of medium/dark brown. And did I mention that she used a razor to cut my hair? split ends waiting to happen... After getting my extensions removed, I tried different three times over two months to get a haircut that allowed my fine, wavy hair to air dry without styling yet still look great. I actually found Loren via a Groupon for a Brazilian blowout. I was dubious to try this particular service because I have very curly, frizzy hair, which I've straightened and relaxed chemically and permanently for years. Sure it was damaging, but having stick straight "weather proof" hair for six months ( except the regrowth) was worth the $750 + and seven hours I spent. Then I decided about a year ago to cut off all the damage straightened hair and embrace my curls. Overall I've been pleased, but I needed less frizz, less volume and more control over my curls. The Epic Artistry salon where Loren works is down the street from my house. This seemed like a perfect way to "test out" a Brazilian blowout or keratin treatment. My expectations were not super high. Loren blew my mediocre expectations out of the water. She was proficient, unassuming, worked within a tight timeframe and I'm thrilled with the results. She gave me great feedback, advice, very specific aftercare instructions and had wonderful recommendations for products that were reasonably priced and would not be damaging. She steered me gently in a different direction when I related my routine, explaining that some of the things that I was using would dry out or further damage my hair. I walked out of the salon with amazing hair and while I have yet to wash it and blow it dry myself, I'm very comfortable that I'll be happy with the long term results. Best of all I've got a much better understanding of the things I need to do, products I need to avoid and how to keep my hair looking it's best. Loren not only understands hair, but she's obviously passionate about teaching her clients how to care for and maintain their desired results themselves. I felt like I got a free hair tutorial from a highly educated professional. Let me be clear, there was NO up selling, no pressure. I'm just a girl who walked in off the street with a Groupon, but I left looking awesome and even better with confidence that I understood what I'd been doing wrong and what changes I could make to keep my hair looking good, at a fraction of the cost, with far less damage and with the right products.
