I had a very disappointing experience at Halo and would never return. I booked a blowout/curl appointment 1-2 weeks in advance because I had a dinner event tonight. I even went into the salon in person to make the appointment and specifically pointed out a client whose hair was being styled with curls using a curling iron and asked if they could do something similar for me. The receptionist assured me that it would not be a problem. When I arrived today, the stylist, Elisabeth, was rude and unwelcoming from the moment I walked in. She had a negative attitude throughout the interaction. After I took my ponytail down, she told me that because I have a lot of hair and because the appointment was apparently booked only as a "blowout" and not a "blowout + curls," she only had time to blow dry my hair and did not have time to curl/style it because she had back-to-back appointments scheduled afterward. Instead of trying to help find a solution, she blamed the person who booked the appointment. As the customer, that is not my responsibility -- especially when I booked well in advance and specifically discussed and pointed out the hairstyle I wanted in person beforehand. The entire experience felt unprofessional, dismissive, and extremely frustrating. Now I'm left scrambling last minute trying to find another salon before my event tonight. Completely unacceptable customer service. read more

I have been getting my hair blown out for many years now and out of all the places I've been to, Halo Blow Dry Bar has the most quality people of all. They take care of their Stylists here and it shows. Jennifer Rodriguez and Nicole are amazing. I recently had an amazing experience even after I left. Jewelz, who was working the front Desk, called me to arrange all of my future appointments for the next two months due to a change in scheduling I was so appreciative of her excellent customer service. Update- I watched her THROW them away. And I told the stylist if they fall out I can put them back in after I told her not to throw them away. They were not grown out- I informed her my hair is newly bleached and it's a mess. Without drying the base of the extensions first she started pulling them as they are wet. Every stylist knows with tape ins you dry the base first. Also I had to call the manager after I emailed. I never got a call back like she said I would on 2/2/26 I had a blowout with extensions. My stylist Nicole ripped out about 10. I also caught her throwing some away. I don't know how many she threw away before that. I tried contacting the owners and got nothing. And the manager pushed me off and said I shouldn't have used class pass to book? I am a stylist myself and just like to try new places besides my own salon so I get the guest experience too. Back to the five stars and for Miranda specifically. She took the time today to do ALL of the right things . The thorough wash with no water dripping down my neck to ruin my blow out at the nape of my neck, using the more sanitary papery towels rather than terry cloth which catches and kinks up my hair, the right amount of the perfect anti-frizz, heat protectant and shine spray products, sectioning my hair, using brushes for the exact amount of volume and the vital cool shot to seal the seal! Miranda does not ask many questions, because she knows what to do! All the stylists are pretty good, but Miranda gets the crown for her technique. She takes 40 minutes, not 20. I had a little snafu with my blowout frequency card but this was easily cleared up by contacting the owner. Janeen the owner of this Halo salon is the best. She actually wants and responds to feedback directly. She spent years as a stylist before buying the franchise. read more

First time at this blow dry bar, overall the result was satisfactory. It did not look like the inspo picture but I would appreciate it if the stylist clarifies expectation before she proceed. The stylist didn't give me a mirror to allow me to see the process. At the end when I asked it doesn't look like the inspo she then said she doesn't think that's possible. This is by far one of my favorite blowouts I've ever had. I was so sad when dry bar closed all their locations in San Francisco. So I was looking for a new place that does blowout. My coworker told me about this place as she raves about it all the time! I booked an appointment through phone 2 weeks in advance and was scheduled with Ginger! Parking is horrible in Burlingame so I recommend Uber. Ginger was super nice & it took 45 mins to do my hair. Blowout was $55 not including tips! Would definitely come back. So I make an appointment ahead of time, I receive a call that the stylist is out sick and cannot make and they give me ONE timeslot to reschedule that is 3 hours ahead of the time chosen. Ehhhh... I've been to a lot of salons, lots of blow outs in my life, this one by far was my least favorite. I asked for give it to me straight, and I've noticed that every single stylist has a different way of doing it. This one felt half assed. She just blow dried my hair and then went over it with a straightener but not sectioning it out at all. I usually see stylist section it into very small parts and using a comb while straightening. This girl did not so I knew I was going to be disappointed. I have front bangs and she did them terribly. The stick out and cover my face, and not at all how you're supposed to style front bangs. Front bangs must be dried and styled FIRST because of the length and she did them last. I'm not even a hairdresser and I know that. Very disappointed. The Los Altos location is much better. I've been coming here for years and absolutely love Halo. They've managed to maintain a great level of service and reliability over so many years. They've also managed to hire such wonderful stylists that are professional, punctual, talented and super sweet! Vanessa has been my ultimate fave but I recently had the great luck of finding another fave, Benjamin! My hair STILL looks good and I got it done on Wednesday and today is Saturday. Insane! I knew scheduling had been difficult that day because someone called in sick but Benjamin was so incredibly accommodating and despite managing a tight schedule managed to be so kind and did a killer job! I'm so bummed, I get blow outs at salons at least 2-3x a month and never have I had so much breakage. Hair was flat and tangly. Even my daughter commented, " mom you have so much hair on you. I have medium long hair and a lot of it! I typically like to wear my hair blown straight with a little "personality" & I am absolutely not patient or talented enough to do this myself. If I'm not going anywhere special, I'll wash my hair, let it dry by itself and then it lives in a pony tail or bun until the next wash. However, lately there have been a variety of social events on my calendar and I started to visit Halo about a month ago. So easy to make an appointment on the app and I have had my hair done by Cari, Vanessa, Alexandra and Andi. All of them have blown my hair dry to perfection. The products they use are amazing because my hair feels so soft and healthy. You also can't beat getting your hair washed. When we wash our own hair, we just do not give the scalp the attention it deserves! I will say that $50 is steep and right now a bit of a stretch on my budget but I keep justifying it! They do have a current $35 special April 1st-15th which I did take advantage of on the 1st. The investment does last a week though, so I get my money's worth! It will be a couple of weeks before I go back only due to schedules. I have my regular appointment with my stylist/colorist this coming week and will be out of town the following week and will try a Dry Bar out of town. Have experienced hair loss from root, hair breakage, extreme dry hair ever since my blow dry at this salon by stylist: (won't name her). NEVER in my lifetime have I had my hair blow dried by someone who went over the chunk of strands 30 times with extreme heat. I left with a real bad headache and never dealing w/ this situation listed above. Worst hair blow dry of my life. Absolute big nightmare. I've spent $$$$$ so far on products to get my hair back. The stylist was mean, aggressive, did not listen when I told her to lessen the heat, had a negative attitude. She wanted my hair fried. She was a very angry woman. AVOID AVOID AVOID. May you be forgiven for what you've done to my hair. She does not belong in HAIR CARE, she must employ her self at nearest fire department instead. When I asked her to lessen the heat, she claimed the cream she put in was protection. She really thought the little cream was going to protect against EXTREME heat stroke to my hair 30 times per chunk of hair? She must think that cream is like a bullet proof vest. She lives in some imaginary world. it's a Cream that's all it is!!! hair is not made out of stainless steel!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hair is gentle!!! learn to treat it as such!!! and remember we all have different hair types!!!!
