Later, I explained that my son has a disability and that we were approved for TEFA funding. I shared that he is speech delayed and somewhat behind academically. I also explained that he previously attended a private Catholic school that requested a one-on-one aide, although his IEP team did not recommend one. We are transferring him because we cannot afford the cost of a one-on-one aide on top of tuition. I also clarified that while he has a medical condition, he has not been diagnosed with autism or ADHD, and evaluations from neurology, ABA, and neuropsychology specialists did not indicate autism. I explained that the academic expectations at his previous school were simply not the right fit for him, and that we believed a more play-based environment would better support his development and learning style. However, during this discussion, the owner repeatedly emphasized how advanced their standards were and mentioned that many of their 4-year-olds already know how to read. Unfortunately, the tone of the conversation made me feel less reassured about how welcoming or supportive the environment would be for children with developmental differences or disabilities. After I told her the amount, her eyes widened, and she became noticeably quiet while pulling out a calculator and computing the yearly total. That interaction made me uncomfortable and gave the impression that the financial aspect became more important than understanding my child's actual needs. Because of these concerns, I began having second thoughts about enrolling my son and asked for the payment to be placed on hold while my husband scheduled a second tour. Within two days, we were informed that the slot for the next school year had already been filled. What was frustrating was that instead of directly informing us that no spots were available, we were still asked to work around their schedule for another tour. I was also told that I had "cancelled," when I had clearly requested that enrollment simply be put on hold while we made a final decision as a family. Afterward, I also came across other reviews from parents who felt their children with disabilities were treated differently. Reading those experiences made our interaction feel even more concerning. It also made me question how genuine some of the positive reviews are, because our experience was very different from what was portrayed online. I cannot say whether reviews are incentivized, but it did leave me wondering if discounts, perks, or other incentives may influence some of the overwhelmingly positive feedback. I truly hope this daycare reflects on what inclusivity really means. Participating in programs like TEFA should involve genuinely welcoming and supporting children with different needs, not just meeting requirements on paper.

An update! My son…read more**really** enjoyed his preK class with Ms Alicia. He adores her and she really has his best interest at heart. I saw first hand how she is able to tend to children based on their own particular needs and how she wants them to learn and grow in her care. My son is on his second day of kindergarten, though he is in Stepping Stone's after school program. As soon as I picked him up from his first day in the after school program, he wanted to go see Ms Alicia. I can't fully express how much Stepping Stone influenced our family in a very positive way, made my son happier about going to preK - so much so that he was sometimes sad when it was the weekend and he wouldn't see Alicia or his friends. Over the summer, he took swimming lessons with Stepping Stone and he learned SO much. I really enjoyed all of his artwork and how prepared he is for kindergarten. Ms Alicia really helped us prepare him for school - both academically and socially. I cannot say enough good things about our experience in Ms Alicia's class. The front office staff is kind and I always enjoy seeing them in the morning. Ms Connie is very kind and I'm certain we will enjoy Brodie's time in the after school program, where he is dropped off and picked up from school and is offered play time after school as well as homework time.

We found the few issues we've raised over the years have been taken seriously and handled professionally. Ms. Janice, Ms. Kat, and Ms. Diana have been fantastic - even when I'd forgotten to let them know my daughter wouldn't be on the after-school bus. They are extraordinarily kind, quick-witted and a pleasure to interact with on a daily basis. Our daughter's teachers, from Ms Joanna when she was an infant - to Ms Zee, once she hit elementry school -have taken care of our kid like she was one of their own. Every teacher and administrator that our daughter has come in contact with has kept a gentle sense of humor when confronted with our daughter's awe-inspiring imagination. But I would say driving a lit longer and have your kids in a safe school with management/owner who sincerely value their customers is well invested and worth it. That being said, still I am giving that place one star while it deserves none, only because of Catarina, the admission coordinator. She is the sweetest person ever.

My son has never complained about anything and actually asks if I can let him go to Stepping Stone instead of being an early pick-up on days that I get off work early. I sent him to the 'Y" summer camp this year. They have a lower cost and more activities, such as paintball, daily swim, rock climbing, gaga ball, etc.. Even with all of this, after several weeks my son didn't like it as much since they were outside for almost the entire day and he said he missed his old friends. Our child also had no reports provided for any incidents and for three consecutive days the work sent from school was a scribbled boat/heart etc. which talks about a phenomenon of checkbox teaching. Our child otherwise can trace all letters of the alphabet - use scissors - paint and talk fluently. In these three weeks we saw a clear regression. Management is somehow not concerned about this kind of classroom mismanagement - In fact we were told that the teacher is extremely good and provided all praise in the orientation. The motto of play to learn is used more for marketing and less for real learning. If you are looking for purely childcare and your child is happy with the play with no kids pushing them around(which was communicated to us by our child multiple time and we asked for any incidents - zero reports - only response we got was "he was good"), you can go here. If you want proper child education with empathy - last place to go if you have a 4 year old toddler. Our little one who is 1.5 had an amazing time and that classroom was actually doing and effective job so I would conclude by saying that the management and the specific teacher is our primary concern. After we complained to the district head - suddenly our child was promoted to ms.Terry's class and started getting all the things promised in the previous class and the tone of management completely changed. Please understand that my son and I had a wonderful experience at each school. That being said, Primrose has exceeded all expectations and impresses me beyond words. The administrative staff, Kortnee, Juli, and Michelle, are absolutely wonderful to interact and coordinate with. The communication here is impeccable. Any incident or concern is immediately addressed with a phone call. They are prompt to respond to messages through the app or email as well as discussing any matters in person. Each day we are greeted by name with a welcoming smile and a "good morning" or a sweet "goodbye". Each staff member fosters a relationship with every child to a point that makes me wonder how they're able to retain such quality, personal knowledge of every single child. Their genuinity sincerely warms my heart and helps gains my trust. THE TEACHERS, OH MY GOODNESS, THE TEACHERS HERE ARE OUTSTANDING. The morale is reinforced with physical notes that acknowledge and praise every student's improvement seen throughout the year. They are authentic, hand written, and personalized for each child. This is the only person, not just teacher, I've ever met that shares the same parenting style as me. She consistently displays a level of emotional intelligence that is rare to encounter. She speaks to the children with respect and understanding and helps guide them into thinking with moral and logical reasoning. Ms. Monte does not limit her responsibilities to academic education, she also forms their character by modeling how every human should act. If every teacher were like her, then I know for a fact future generations would thrive and redefine societal standards. I know this may come off as a bit extreme, but what I say is what I truly feel and believe. I couldn't ask for a better influence for my son. Mr. Flores is such a joy to have. He, too, always has a bright smile on his face and tells me how my son's day went with detailed knowledge and a cheerful demeanor. His written notes and personal interactions show recognition to my son's progress which increases his confidence and encourages him to pursue new challenges. Mr. Flores does an excellent job fueling my son's desire to learn. He is also very kind and patient with the students and his studious conduct projects onto the children in a productive way. I try to keep questions open-ended to allow my son to think and elaborate on the details and regardless, he always replies with "I don't know" or, when asked what he learned, he responds with "nothing". This is the only school that has caused him to talk about his day without me even having to ask. Not only that, but he also excitedly and proudly tells me about what he learned that day. We talk about his social interactions, his education, his thoughts and feelings, and whatever else he feels is worth mentioning. I absolutely love hearing all of it and it pleases me to know how much he genuinely enjoys attending this school. As a mother, I couldn't ask for anything more than this school already provides. The kids go on field trips, eat healthy food, learn through hands-on experience, and much more. This experience has blown me away with a standard that I never knew existed.
