Pretty awful experience at Prince Frederick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. My Jeep was in their shop for 9 days! In that time they changed a battery and conducted a plug in diagnostic test. They were so slow and incompetent I had to pull my Jeep out in the middle of their alleged servicing. They worked on my Jeep maybe two hours at most! And 9 days of nothing! I had to pay for a rental car the whole time too. Communication with them was terrible, they were rude, and so completely inefficient and incompetent. The GM and Service Manager were just as bad, and fostered this negligent attitude. To make it worse, they don't care! I had an extremely disappointing and frankly infuriating experience with this dealership. I brought my vehicle in expecting honest diagnostics and professional guidance. Instead, I was misled into believing that my car required a $16,000 part--an outrageous claim that immediately raised red flags once I had the chance to get a second opinion. What's worse, I was told that in order to even obtain this supposed part, I would first need to pay for the installation of a brand-new battery through them. This felt like a blatant attempt to upsell unnecessary services and pressure me into spending even more money under false pretenses. At no point did I feel like transparency or integrity were a priority. Instead, it seemed like profit was the only concern, regardless of how misleading the information given to customers might be. This kind of behavior erodes trust and takes advantage of people who may not have extensive knowledge about vehicle repairs. I strongly caution anyone considering this dealership: get a second opinion before agreeing to any major repairs, and don't let yourself be pressured into unnecessary add-ons. DO NOT GO HERE!! This is my first bad review ever. This is the second time I used the service department for my Jeep. The first time was under warranty, the second time not. Either way, worst customer service by both the people and the work received. I was hesitant to go back but it has been at least 4 years so I gave them another try. DO NOT GO HERE!!! This establishment is set up to screw people with deceptive tactics by a bunch of incompetent, rude, and nasty people. They don't care how they treat you. They will hold your car hostage while taking their time fixing it and they seem to never have a loaner available. The first time was over a month they had my jeep and that was under warranty. We had to go in numerous times and fight to try to figure out what's going on to get our Jeep back or get a loaner, same tactics again this time. They literally said 7-10 days but can't guarantee it. I said last time it was over a month, can they give some timeline or I bring it back when they have a loaner. Nope, can't help with this simple request and got nasty. I'm not even going to get into the ridiculous price they quoted after a "mandatory" $180 diagnostic even after I told them what I needed as they have a monopoly on this fix that is a common failure but no one can fix it except Jeep. I was told Jeep locked this functionality out at manufacturing so no other mechanics can do it except Jeep. I had a local mechanic looked at it prior to coming here and told me what it was and said it was an easy fix but he can't do it because of the lock out. This is just an overall total fraud by Jeep to not recall this and these disgraceful dealerships are benefiting from it at almost $2,000 to fix. I would not under any circumstances take your vehicle to this establishment for any type of evaluation, service, or repair. I brought my vehicle in for a specific problem. I followed their advice, had the team do the service, paid thousands of dollars, and left the vehicle for them to repair the same problem multiple times for extended periods each time being charged more and more money. The last time I picked it up, I was told it was fixed, but it still had the same problem. They told me to just drive it and maybe it will go away. It's with great dismay that I'm here leaving a negative review of your establishment. We chose this dealership due to its high review/praise of work and customer service. Unfortunately this is not what we received. Long story short we took our vehicle (Pacifica Hybrid) here multiple times to fix a check engine light. Work was completed and money was paid but the problem still persisted. We took the vehicle to another Chrysler dealership where they found the problem. Turns out your dealership missed the problem and or caused the problem. This was explained to us by the new dealership as well as the warranty company. Upon hearing this news we reached out to you to help make this situation right. Unfortunately we were met with hostility, anger, and immaturity from several members of your management team. Excuses upon excuses to the point where we as the customer were blamed for your inefficiency. Very unprofessional and disappointing for a business who receives such high praise. Look we all make mistakes. It's nothing personal. As a business it's up to you to provide good customer service and not take things like this personally. Your actions show your true colors in tough situations such as this. Instead of showing empathy, compassion, and professionalism you chose the opposite. Very disappointing and disheartening. In the end we had to contact Chrysler Cooperate for help. They agreed with us and put the full blame and fault on Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM. Bought a Jeep from here back in May. Sales person was good, no issue with him. The finance manager was fine and worked diligently to get the numbers where we wanted them. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends. I traded in a vehicle, but transferred the tags to the new one. For some reason this dealership took a full month to pay off my trade-in. This obviously triggered some issues. The banks contacted me about over due payments, so I had to call the dealership to figure out why they had failed to pay off the trade-in. Since none of the paperwork had been processed in a timely manner, I didn't even receive the updated vehicle registration for tags that I transferred to the new Jeep until the middle of July. Plus, I was also contacted by MDOT to inform me that I owed $157 for an uninsured vehicle (the vehicle I traded in). They suspended my tags, so I have to now go down to the MVA and show them the paperwork proving that I uninsured the previous vehicle after having relinquished ownership of it to Prince Frederick Jeep. It's almost August and I'm still dealing with the headache caused by their failure to process paperwork and pay off a trade-in in timely manner. read more

The staff at this dealership are top notch. I bought my Ram 1500 ecodiesel in 2021. I got a really good deal (all via email). The trade in value was much higher than I expected and they came way off of msrp to make me happy. I brought my truck in today for a recall fix after making an online appointment. The parts for the fix required ordering (I believed the email from FCA indicated I could schedule the repair -- not quite). I was fully expecting the repair but had other maintenance done (I did not schedule but maintenance but apparently the online scheduler did). I was a bit surprised when the bill came and mentioned my expectations of only getting the recall fix. The manager noted that I should have paid attention to the authorization for service (rightfully so) but gave me a huge discount. Good people, good service, and good treatment. If your expectations are higher than that, good luck. As for me, I'll keep driving the 45 minutes to Prince Frederick. read more

I have called the salesman and the manager of the dealership numerous times to get the second key and the owners manual sent to me since it was not given to me at the time of purchase nor was it in the car. Each of them acknowledged that they had those items in their possession and would send them out that day. However, it is now December 1, 2022 and although I call weekly, it just never shows up in the mail. I would never do business with them again. Worst experience ever. Ended up with a fine from the MVA because paperwork was not completed and I didn't receive copies of anything that was supposed to be given on a flash drive. Buyers and owners be aware- Do no take your car to this dealership for service. The customer service technicians are incompetent and lie. Also, the service technicians to do not fix your car. Two days ago I took my car in do to its failure to pass Calvert county emissions. The car sat there for 2 days. I placed a call to inquire about the status. That's when John told me the car had 3 major issues that would cost $4,600 to fix. The check engine light on this car starting showing up in 2019 with mileage of 30k. I purchased the car brand new from Darcars in Marlow Heights in 2018. From 2018 to Sept. 2020 the car had been maintained by DARCARS and PF Dodge only. The car was serviced by PF Dodge twice in 2020 and missed fire codes were diagnosed both time. PF Dodge failed to address the miss fire codes in 2020 (twice) while the car was still covered under the extended warranty and cleared all alerts without addressing the real problem which has now led to a left cylinder head needing replacement, a catalytic converter failed, and oil pump going bad. I was told they could not find anything wrong with the car although the check engine kept returning. Thus, I thought the alert was related to cheap gas. PF Dodge needs to hire more competent workers. They forgot to add coolant to a 2016 Jeep Renegade I owned. That led to the car overheating and the dealership had to keep that vehicle over 6 months before it was fixed. Also, in 2021, a visit to the dealership for a simple oil change and tire rotation. After returning home, I discovered they had not rotated the tires. I purchased a 2015 Kia optima in Nov of 2022 by Feb of 2023 the car broke down due to engine failure. I have a 2007 Dodge Ram .. It took two and a half weeks to get it back. I was told from the beginning it will be a couple of days before they will look at it, due to short of staff and being busy .. ok with that. It took a week just to look at it. I was told it was the TIPM .. the power module of the truck .. big bill coming .. close to 2000 dollars .. now everyone knows dealerships costs can be wallet draining .. this was expected too. It took over a week to get the part .. not happy with that. Just to let you know they do not have any kind of shuttle service and no vehicle lending. You can set up for vehicle rental. Also the communication of this situation was not favorable either. Pretty much have to keep calling to check on it. They have the text messaging, but I rather at least hear a voice. I have had a horrible time dealing with this dealership. My car has been there over a year back and forth. I would say within the year I have had my car one entire week. We pay for them to replace parts that they are not sure is going to fix the vehicle. we pay get the car back and it is doing the same thing. i pick the car up and sometimes it doesn't even make it two blocks and it is doing the same thing. My car is sitting there right now and they are getting ready to order another part that they are not sure will fix it but I have to pay for it. I have paid over $3000 since this has been going on. Horrible place to ever purchase any vehicle, February 2023 I bought a used gmc Sierra 2500 diesel, chris was my salesmen was a rainy day when I bought the truck so I missed some cosmetic issues spoke with Jamie the manager he said stuff would get fixed and bring the truck back in so I did nothing but the bed cover got fixed, the day I picked the truck up to drive home it kept shutting off, called the dealership to speak with rob after he told me he would order my new mirrors because the ones on the truck do not function properly and never heard back and anytime I would call back they would say he was busy or the phone would just hang up, here it is June 30th and the truck has still been in the repair shop, so I called and finally got in contact with someone who I thought was going to help me Mr Basil, boy was I wrong, I repeat do not buy anything from this place you'll be ripped off and they will be laughing all the way to the bank, getting a lawyer involved has been a treat to, save yourself time and a headache and stay away from any of their dealerships in southern maryland and northern Virginia unless you want to buy a complete turd that you will drive for a week or two and have it sit in a repair shop while your making payments on something you can't enjoy. The best part is they have blocked me on Facebook for making a honest review and they no longer accept my calls or emails. Never taking my vehicle here again. When we first moved to the area 3 years ago I got great service and trusted them, not anymore. I go on a long road trip every year took my van on for a check up, oil change asked them to check EVERYTHING as I was going to be going on the road trip. First I had to take it back a week later they had missed that I needed break work done my car was still shaking when I used the breaks. So got that fixed. Since my drive is a long one an oil change is needed before I head home. So I go to get the oil changed in the city I am in and I have barely any oil in my van which means either the oil was never changed or they missed a leak somewhere. And the guy doing the oil change shows me my transmission fluid it is black (not good anymore) he recommends it be changed (by the way this is a place you actually stay in your car for the service you see everything they are doing) I look at my paper work from when I had "work" at this Prince Frederick Dodge dealership done says I had a transmission fluid flush and change cost of $219. There is no way this was done I have driven just over 6000 miles even when driven more a transmission fluid change shouldn't need to be done for at least 15000 miles. And really shouldn't be needed for 30000-60000. Not trusting this place anymore. read more

When I finally found the car that I wanted it was pulling teeth to get the paperwork done properly. They lied about the financing and the warranty that I would be getting. On October 17th 2017 I bought a 2010 Nissan GT-R from Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge. It had approximately 22,000 miles on it and was in overall good shape. After about a week the check engine light came on and I pulled the code myself with my scanner. Turns out that 2 of the O2 sensors were bad and needed to be replaced. Also, needing replacement was the passenger side front door speaker and the instrument cluster because the back light for the coolant temperature was not illuminating (from my research there is a technical service bulletin issued by Nissan that this is a recognized issue and is remedied by replacement of the cluster). I spoke with the service department on November 6th and it was agreed that I would drop the car off on the 7th. The service advisor (Kevin) noted the 3 issues that I was having and assured me they would be taken care of and that most likely they would be sending the car to Nissan or a specialty shop to have the work performed. I dropped the car off on the 7th and had Kevin read back the issues to be resolved (O2 sensors, door speaker and the instrument cluster). During the next couple weeks I had absolutely no update from them and it was up to me to make a call every few days, in which case I would be transferred, they would "take a message" or no one would answer. I was finally told that the situation was being handled by the sales manager (Basil) and that I must speak with him. A couple unreturned phone calls later, on the December 4th he gives me an update and says they would have the car back within the next day or so. I asked him if all issues would be resolved and when I listed them to him, he informed me that this was the first he was hearing about the coolant temperature back light and the door speaker (even though the service department made note of them and even read them back to me when I dropped the car off). I decided to "pick and choose my battles" and let this one go, I was satisfied that they at least replaced the O2 sensors and picked up the car on December 5th. Two days later and the check engine light is back on! Turns out they only replaced one of the O2 sensors and the other is still faulty. I immediately called and spoke with a woman by the name of Caitlin and she assured me that I would receive a phone call back to resolve the issues.... That was three days ago. I should also note, that they were even "nice enough" to leave my on less than 1/8th tank of gas. I can't imagine how many joy rides were had while my car was in "service". Needless to say, this is not the place to go if you want customer service. I spent $60k on a car and they can't even return a phone call. It's awful funny how a place like this will bend over backwards to sell you a car but once you're out the door, that's it. If there was 0 stars, I would've chose that. read more

Just an update after reading the response from the dealership. It would be nice if the dealership stood by their work. At the time of the vehicle pickup after the airbox/intake duct replacement, one part was never installed (a hose clamp) and the omission was acknowledged after it was discovered by the ourselves. The mechanic needed to order the part, more than a month later the part was on hand and the mechanic needed to order the tool required, then two days later I received a text from the service manager stating that the work would not be completed. In the intervening time more repair related issues have been found. Nothing that has caused an engine code, but items that need to be corrected and should have been found before the vehicle left the dealership. read more

It seems that in the detail I suppose to get when i had my bed liner put in,much like the Monday I purchased the truck no one from the cleaning department got inside the truck,the smudge on the rear view is the same one from the night i bought the truck,there are still parts of stickers on the corner of the windshield and glass, a scratch on the center arm rest/console,the dirt on the floor mats still there...needless to say after not having my truck or any other vehicle all day expecting it to be clean and "taken care of" I was disappointed and actually angry I had things to do and not having a vehicle was not convenient, which is why I didn't mention anything that Saturday because this was the second time an I could do and have done a better job cleaning it,I was also mad and that is no way to have a conversation or try and get a point across so I took the truck home took the pictures cleaned it up. a few days ago when showing the truck off to a buddy of mine he noticed and pointed out two screws are missing from the door panel,so someone missed that in the PDI or screws backed out of the door panel in under 500 miles both would be serious issues to me It kinda irked/off set me that i was pretty much just handed the keys and said see ya,i know i work for a upscale car brand but after any and all work and details someone goes over the car with the customer and then sends them on their way. Just seems like a better way of doing things definitely makes a customer happy and shows them they are important. Maybe something to consider. Another complaint there wasn't really a follow up on the rear camera even though i asked,aside from i don't think thats suppose to be there...but i did my own research and found out that you guys sell a kit to add it and already having the camera and some wires i should only need a head unit. But I still have to follow the wiring harness make sure its all there I'll probably pursue that soon. Just incase someone else asks you now know :P All this being said I really am happy with the truck and know i got a great deal on the price and appreciate you throwing the hitch in the package! But the rest of the experience just wasn't there i took ownership of a less than immaculately cleaned truck was told we will fix that when you get the bed liner put in didn't happen.no follow up with anything after selling the truck,i was told you'd help me transfer the tags from my old truck just ordered new tags didn't tell me so i had to come back down to your dealer again not convenient. I got my Ram Brand email and i noted these things in it and I'm honestly sending this email to vent my frustrations and hoping you are now aware of the issue whether it be a stand alone incident or not in your detail department and its corrected before it happens to anyone else. That being said if you wanna send me the two missing screws I'd be glad to install them myself,i actually went to your parts dept Saturday to get them but the door was locked and someone looked at me through the glass and just looked back at their computer. We paid for work to pass inspection then went to pick it up and something else was wrong .Dealership to shortcut to alleviate the problem and when we went to pick it up it was still broken .Finally after much deliberation we got that fixed and now 2 more things have gone wrong that are completely unrelated to previous issues .Then as my wife is waiting for inspection papers the service writers are making faces at each other like juvenile children. I would have given this place negative five stars if it were an option. My wife brought our Jeep for service 6 months ago and they said that several systems needed to be flushed according to the recommended service intervals...for over $1000! She called me and I looked it up; none of them were recommended by Jeep, so she declined. When she brought the vehicle back for the next service, they told her that she needed "fuel induction service" for $199, and it needed rear brake pads because it was close to being "metal on metal" ($325). She declined, and when I did the research I learned that fuel induction service is very rare for a vehicle with only 30K miles, and is only needed if it is sluggish or running poorly, which it was not. Additionally, we brought the vehicle to Midas (who was only going to charge $169 to do the brakes), and they said that the brake pads had another 20K miles or so in them and didn't need to be replaced (and they didn't even have to take off the tires to tell that)! Over all, DO NOT give this company your business! I bought 2 vehicles from this dealership, and this is what I get in return; they are unethical, deceitful crooks! I've never stepped foot in a place that cared less about their customers. From the day I walked out of there it's been hell on four wheels. So my lady went there to check out a used car we saw online. They were pushy and over bearing, offering lies on lies on lies that they couldn't back up. Against our better judgement we decided to go ahead wih the purchase. We decided that at about 12noon. We sat in their show room "waiting for another customer to finish up" in the finance room, apparently they only have one. We didn't leave there until 6 in the evening. That was just the buying process... So a week later, she discovered that her car had a pretty major engine issue. So we take it in. Long story short, it took them over 3 weeks to get this job done. We had to call up there and beg for any sort of updates, and their updates were normally "I don't know." They never once called us. Then when they say it's all finished, (we had to call to get that info!) she drives the 45 mins out there. Gets in the car, and the 'check engine light' is now on!!!! Are you kidding me? She gets mad tells them to fix it etc. They say "oh of course ma'am we'll get right on that and have ready tomorrow, we're sorry and Blah blah blah. Well three days later, she finally gets her car back. Through this whole evolution, they're acting like we should be grateful because they covered the cost on the major engine repair on a car we owned LESS than a WEEK! No you should be grateful we don't just return the car and cancel this whole disaster. Please please save yourself the headache. Go ANYWHERE but here to do your car buying. They only care about the initial sell, once you're out the door you are the last priority in their mind. And believe me when I tell you, this is the abbreviated version of this story. read more

If I could review with no stars, I would. Our vehicle went in for a 2 hour warranty repair. It was returned after more than 30 days and no loaner vehicle provided (one was requested several times). The vehicle was returned with parts damaged, missing, replaced with incorrect parts, and incorrectly installed. Apparently nothing is in place at the dealership to check on the quality of the repair work. After a couple of returns for parts incorrectly installed, the service department was willing to replace a part that was discovered to have been destroyed during the repair and then abruptly discontinued the repair before completion. They refused to correct anything else and said that the issues were caused by another mechanic and not them. Really? This was our trusted service shop that has done all the warranty work on our vehicles for decades. There is no other mechanic. What are they suggesting, that a mechanic broke into our car to do damage to it? read more

i can't say enough about the folks at Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. I've been buying from this dealership since the late 80's and have always been treated fairly when purchasing a vehicle (6). Additionally, the crew in service has been nothing less than great. Russ, will bend over backwards to make sure your vehicle is taken care of and is done right. if you need something done, especially routine maintenance like tire rotations, oil changes and such, give them a try. I purchased a Ram 3500 for my hauling business not too long ago. I used to treat buying a new vehicle as a fun treat to myself -- no longer. The salesman was an idiot and tried to tell me that the exhaust brake (Jake) "diverted the exhaust away from your trailer so if you're hauling horses or something they won't get gassed." It went down hill from there. He lied about the truck having two alternators (I specifically asked for the dual alternator set up). The particular salesman detailed to me didn't know anything about towing packages or even the gross combined weight rating. I knew more about the truck's transmission and towing ability than anyone on staff, as it turned out. I have the CDL-A but I wonder how many of these trucks they sell to unknowing yuppies who then get into trouble weight wise? And they pulled a bait and switch on me (didn't have the truck I was looking for so they got one from the dealer in Lexington Park (where I should have gone in the first place) and cooked up some story about that, too. When they offered me practically nothing for my trade in, I decided to sell it myself and made more than 6 times what they would have given me. Luckily, I didn't need to finance through them (can only imagine what THAT would have been like, judging by their other tricks). Granted, they need to make a reasonable profit to stay in business, but I would stay away from this business -- it's lack of integrity was appalling and they know very little about their product. I will probably never buy another new vehicle from *any* dealer, let alone them. Stay away. read more
