Overall, I'm very disappointed. Prince William Garage Door installed the original garage door on a new home we purchased in 2016 and was contracted by the home builder. Since installation, the motor has had nothing but problems. The first few problems the home builder engaged them to make the repairs and we didn't have to pay, but after 1 year we had to call PWGD directly and pay them for the numerous repairs as it was apparently no longer under warranty. Come to find out from three other garage door companies, normally the warranty is 3 years on new installs!! Recently we needed yet another repair as the garage door was opening by itself. I called in and spoke with the owner, Ricky, who was overly talkative about how amazing he says he is and went off on a politics rant, but spent a lot of time explaining to me what he thought the problem was with our unit. He also said Liftmaster is "Chinese junk" and that he would never sell one (yet he had no problem selling one to our home builder). He said the solution was to replace the Liftmaster motor with another brand that had another 1 year warranty, or I could pay them to come check the wires in the existing motor and he would provide zero warranty. I told him I would call him back at the end of the day with a decision. I called back an hour later to book the appointment to have the motor replaced with his recommended brand, and spoke with a receptionist who said they were very busy and needed to call me back. By the end of the day I hadn't heard anything so I called again and left a voicemail. I called again the next morning and left another voicemail. I never heard anything back. I guess they don't want my business? I ended up calling another company who came out and replaced the motor (for less than PWGD quoted) on the same day, and told me no matter what happens they'll fix it for free for 3 years. As a business owner myself, a customer having this many problems with a single unit clearly has an issue that should have been addressed sooner. If I was in PWGD's shoes and saw the service ticket history, I would have replaced the motor as a courtesy considering it's never worked perfectly and should have been replaced from the start under warranty. That's how I treat my own customers at least...plus we've consistently gone back to and paid PWGD to repair it, totaling more than the cost of a new unit. The only reason for two stars and not one, is the fact that the owner did indeed spend quite a bit of time on the phone with me originally when I called in to remotely diagnose the issue over the phone, so I will give credit where credit is due. read more

Horrible customer service, attitude, and POOR professionalism. I'm very disappointed. Prince William Garage Door acted like I was bothering them when I scheduled and the supervisor is an arrogant ass. He should just quit and do something else if he has attitude because he doesn't like this line of work. They incorrectly installed my garage door open, left a mess in my garage, and charged me almost twice what they quoted. Prince William Garage Door is a SCAM! They did the installation, but install the sensors to the wrong side, and during the spring/autumn/winter time, when the sun goes west and shine on the sensor, the garage door won't work. After figuring out this issue is the installation issue.. called them, the lady said, their guys had no ways to know where the sun would be... (Great..) I was going to use a company I used in the past ,but they we're down due to the snowstorm.I looked online and saw Prince William Garage Door I called and spoke to the owner Rick.He was a very nice gentleman and he gave me a fair price for new springs.The technicians Jason and Rick called 20 minutes before arriving and we're right on time.They did the work in a timely manner and the most important thing is correctly.Rick took the time to answer all my questions.The price stayed the same once the work was completed,unlike some other companies out there.I would highly recommend this company. Purchased new doors through Home Depot. After a few months two panels developed outward damage, not inward like we hit it, on two pairs else that are located in the same location and look identical. I couldn't have created the exact same damage on two of the panels even if I tried let alone on accident. This is clearly a defect in the panels and the company refuses to come out and even look at them. read more

I had scheduled an appointment with a competing local garage door co. only to discover lots of false reviews which numbered in the 500 range, all 5 star, only to be supported by a facebook page with no content. Immediately canceled that and called Prince William Garage Door after they checked out to be more honest from what I could gather online. I gave them a ring around 8:30am and was greeted by an obvious morning person (I am not one :) ) who was able to give me a price and a very clear description of what was to be done and included with that price. Scheduled an appointment for the next day and was given a window of 8a-10a. Installer showed up at 8:10a and was a very personable guy. He knew what type of door I had by sight and had the spring I needed on the truck. It was installed within 30 minutes and works great. The best part was the price did not deviate from the quote. I can't speak for garage door installation/replacement, but I can certainly recommend them for repairs, will use them again. read more

They came to complete a tune up on two garage doors. The were quick and efficient. The doors are now super quiet no more squeaking. The tech provided some great tips on preventive maintenance on the doors. Will use them in the future if needed. read more

Extremely disappointed. I had a new concrete driveway constructed at my home in August. Three weeks later, a guy from PWGD came to install two new garage doors for me. It took him three hours. The whole time, his pickup truck was leaking oil or power steering fluid onto my new driveway. When he drove away at 11 am, I immediately saw the pool of stuff on my driveway and tried to clean it up. I have tried six different products to remove the stain but nothing works. The company har refused to accept responsibility. Very unethical. read more

Installed my door quickly and well. A week later, the power to the door had to be reset (a problem I am still having, but that review is for the electrician!). The door wasn't resetting, so I called. They came by the same day and patiently showed me how to reset it correctly. I should have read the instructions (old school) or checked YouTube, but I didn't even think of it. Two garage doors installed. Supper quiet. Like The lockout feature for vacation time. Will try to remember to add an update in 6 months. I pay more attention to reviews from people who take the time to update their opinions a few months out. Installer was very professional, arrived on time and finished on time. Nice to get rid of thirty year old wood doors. Neighbors were pleased too. I must say that I don't understand the one review about a door that buckled. When the doors are lowered they glide down to a foot or so before the floor than slower the last foot for a nice quiet even fit. They don't just plunk down. Will recommend them. Okey dokey I forgot to review in 6 months. It's been probably a year and my husband still teases me. "Can u hear the garage doors closing?" The garage is warmer and the den a bit warmer. read more

I bought a garage door and 13 months after buying, I noticed the door was buckling. I called and no one would call me back. When I eventually got them to call me back (by leaving a message that I wanted to buy 4 doors for my estate property) they wouldn't even look at the door and started to call me names. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED LIKE THIS BY ANY COMPANY!!! I have never written a negative write up on any company either, but these folks are seriously the worst! Unbelievable! This company installed the door with the previous owner of my house and installed a motor for me. Go forward about a year and the door has been squeaking like mad. I've put lubricant on it all over but it's just an annoyance so I never called. I was walking the dog today and say a PW garage truck park in my neighborhood. I asked him if he could take a look at the squeaking and he was happy to do so. Came over and fixed it very quickly (a side spring wasn't high enough). Also had a keypad on him for the model I have and installed that and programmed it. I am extremely pleased. Asked for a number to put in a good word for him and he turned out to be the owner! My garage door broke on a Friday afternoon. I called Prince William Garage Door, expecting (and okay with) an appointment for Monday or Tuesday. Tiffany, I believe, said they had appointments available on Tuesday but that I didn't want to wait that long. She asked if she could call me right back after she checked around. A few minutes later she called and said someone was nearby and could come out right then. That alone was awesome. You never hear of that any more, y'know? The gentleman who came out was friendly and incredibly fast. One of the springs on the door was broken, and he replaced both of them with a better model. He was finished inside an hour. About a week later the install was scheduled. The installer, Odilio, arrived on time and was fully prepared.
