I was in the hunt for a budget friendly place to stay. Luckily, this place was just what I was looking for! The check-in process was quick and painless. The staff were friendly. There was an indoor pool area just beside the front desk and lobby area. When I found out my room was down the hall from the pool, I immediately regretted not having my swimsuit. It would've been such a short walk to the pool area. My room looked newly renovated! The carpets were clean. There were no musty odours. The standard coffee maker, TV and mini fridge were available. However, there was also a small microwave which I thought would be convenient for travellers to use. The bathroom was awesome! The walk in shower had floor to ceiling tile. The vanity mirror over the since was F-A-N-C-Y!! If you pressed a button on the mirror, a bright light would turn on, along the rim of the mirror! It was super cool and kind of unexpected. It seemed like something you would see in LA or some trendy hotel. This mirror seemed out of place here. But whatever, I loved this feature! The walls are quite thin here. You could hear the people upstairs literally using the bathroom. If you're a light sleeper and are sensitive to sounds, you could have issues with this. It's just something to consider. Honestly, this is a risk no matter where you stay. I personally didn't have a problem sleeping. The next morning, I had breakfast in the second floor Sky Room. The spacious dining area was filled with natural light. There was plenty of seating available. It was nicely decorated too. There were decent breakfast options here. I had a waffle that I made with the waffle iron. They had yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, toast, pastries and some fresh fruit. They also had juice, tea,and coffee to drink. Overall, I had a pretty good experience here. I definitely felt it was good value for the price I paid. The location was next to the Chinook Mall and also my favourite sushi restaurant Kinjo. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Of all the hotels we've booked under corporate rates, this is the only hotel that gave us issues. I ended up having to keep this reservation because of convenience. One of the rooms also became flooded due to the rain, so our stuff became wet. They didn't offer a new room, nor any sort of compensation. Only reason I give this hotel 2 stars is because breakfast was actually good, and our rooms were always made.

A Dorm Room. Let's call it what it was!…read more I don't know if it was an issue of description (or lack there of) by Expedia, or the fault of the property, But it was advertised as a 1 bedroom apartment. And some can argue that technically that is what it was. But I'm sure that most people would feel a 1 bedroom apartment is pretty different than a dorm room with a shared "kitchen" and shared restroom in a school. I didn't see any mention of it being on a campus at all. It is Housing that is On the University of Calgary campus. We checked in at 1 building which actually did look like a nice hotel. During the check in process, we were told that there will be three doors but the other two were empty. I was like, what? But OK... I guess we'll find out, and then was directed to a whole different building that I had to drive to at a different area on the campus. Once opening the door, it was a communal area with a sink refrigerator, and a bathroom.... And Three Doors. This is when it dawned on us that this "One Bedroom Apartment" was actually just a Dorm room, and If there were other tenants in the other units, we would be sharing the bathroom with them. Kept feeling like someone else would walk in at any time. The dorm room was tiny. The "mattress" was a plastic foam cushion that was probably designed for bed wetters. The frame it was on, was more like chain link fence and we sank in it. Had to put mattress on the floor to sleep. Horrible night's sleep.

The check in process was quick as there were 2 reservations with one being preauthorized. They provided me with one key (instead of cards) for the room and told it would be $10 to replace it. The elevators are spacious and can fit luggage and people! It was a little confusing once we got off the elevator which direction to go in as the room directions were beside a large TV screen. There were a few meeting rooms on our floor close to the elevators. The room is a little smaller than other hotel rooms but modern and clean. The sink wasn't very deep so one time the water splashed out. The room had a mini fridge, microwave, and modern coffee maker. The free wifi worked well most of the time and calls to Canada and US were free! That was a first for a hotel. The room included continental breakfast in the bistro. There isn't a lot of seating so it could be difficult to get a seat if everyone went down for breakfast at the same time. The breakfast included hot drinks, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, baked goods and bread for toasting. I think there was also oatmeal. I had a croissant one day but it didn't taste fresh so I stuck to fruit and an egg. Overall is a good hotel and staff were friendly. I could hear guests a few times but not too noisy. The closet was too short for my pants and long coat so it would have been better if it were longer. It's about a 5 minute drive to Market Mall and at times there are cabs in front or the hotel will call you one.

Everything seemed fine until I opened my door and outside was some party van that looked like an Amazon truck. NO LIMO!!!! When I asked what the hell was going on I was informed that the limo was broken. So instead of sending me another stretch limo or a Hummer limo or truck limo they sent me a van!! I called the woman (apparently the daughter of the owner) and got told to basically pound sand. Sorry never even left her lips. I got attitude and was told it's my fault because I never checked my messages from a few hours ago when she was giving me the heads up!!! Say what!!?? Even if I had checked how the heck could I get another limo in only a couple hours. I also work nights and had very little time to do anything besides get ready before they arrived. But that's not her problem she said. And when I checked my missed calls there was none from this company. Only ProCom Cleaning Services. Well I didn't order cleaning services so even had they called and I seen it I wouldn't of answered a number I don't know. Maybe if this company was more legit they'd have their business attached to their number.
