One day I had an appointment and I had written down the wrong time and was told by my wife the correct time and that I had missed it, so I called to apologize and reschedule and the receptionist got all angry and started talking down to me saying I missed my appointment then said bye and hung up on me. I was wanting to reschedule but with that attitude I will never go back! I have told three people about my experiences here and the canceled their first exam with this dentist. There is another dentist in Fremont who has openings.

This being my first surgical experience, I was quite nervous. At my initial consultation with Dr. Kirby he informed me that one of the teeth wouldn't need to be pulled at this time. This was a refreshing surprise for a dental practitioner to not push for as many procedures as possible. During this consultation, everything was explained and easy to understand. Dr. Kirby stayed to answer any questions I had and I didn't feel rushed at all. It was as if I was his only patient that day with the level of attention he and his assistant showed me during that consultation. Upon leaving the consultation, I felt more at ease about the procedure and felt confident that Dr. Kirby would take good care of me. On the day of my procedure, Dr. Kirby was running a bit behind schedule due to some additional work a previous patient was having performed. But, Dr. Kirby's assistant checked on me regularly and kept me informed the entire time. When Dr. Kirby arrived in my procedure room, he answered a couple more questions I had and then went to work. The procedure went perfectly and Dr. Kirby even spent some time in the recovery room with me to answer after-care questions and make sure I knew everything I needed to before heading home. In the months following my procedure, I ran into some issues with my insurance company. Dr. Kirby provided a letter for the insurance company on my behalf and ensured that the situation was completely resolved. The fact that his high-level of care and compassion extends beyond the surgical room shows he truly cares about his patients' whole experience. Dr. Kirby's ability to quickly put me at ease and the level of care and attention he provides is extraordinary. While nobody looks forward to dental surgery, if I ever find myself in need of it again, Dr. Kirby will always be my first choice.

However, the bedside manner of Poupard and his office and nursing staff are atrocious. They are arrogant and rude. Our experience is that we were treated like cattle. And once the teeth are pulled, it's clear from the way he and his staff interact, that he wants nothing more to do with you. My child was having trouble with the healing process after wisdom tooth removal. Called his office, she described the symptom over the phone, and he prescribed antibiotics sight unseen. We were foolish to follow his advice. Go at your own risk. My advice would be to look further afield.

If you need an oral surgeon he is the kind you want. He is clinically extremely well trained and experienced. He exams thoroughly and explains in a clear straight forward way. His supporting staff and office are competent professionals. Oral surgery is not a fun prospect to have and being under anesthesia has its own anxiety for me. However, I was calm and confident in Dr. Lonergan and his staff and the procedure went very well. My pain is minor. I have been well instructed on how I should do post operative care. I am still eating oatmeal, scrambled eggs and pasta, but that won't last long. I recommend Dr. Lonergan and his staff highly to you and without reservations.
