Everyone from the front desk to the imaging area was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. The nurses were thorough, professional, and caring. The radiology tech was one of the nicest people I've met in a minute! The doctor actually spoke to me like a real person. This was in stark contrast to the CareNow clinic I visited earlier in the day wherein the doc stared at his computer screen as he typed the whole time he was in the room with me. At Ally, the doc had a conversation and let me have a voice in my care plan. She actually seemed like she cared about what was going on with me even though we didn't really figure it out. She made she I was safe to go about life and try to figure it out with my pcp, which was all I needed. I had seen the Ally logo around but didn't know what it was. Now I know they are my emergency medicine ally! Hope I don't have to go back, but know I'll choose Ally over anywhere else if I do.

I have a major needle phobia so I was having a panic attack about the blood work. The nurse practitioner was completely unhelpful. We let them know at sign up i needed something to calm me down. Even after seeing my panic they not only refused to help, they refused blood work at all. They are supposed to help. Not judge and pass us off to someone else. Luckily the doctor i ended up seeing at ARC LISTENED and understood. They HELPED. Shame on this place for not doing so.

I'm just gonna cover the highlights of what makes this good and bad in my opinion. First and foremost with any hospital ratings is the nurses. I've got to admit this ascension Seton has more outstanding; above average nurses. Like around 70%. Then about 15% our average and 10% are below average. Unfortunately, there are about 5% that are in the category of why are they even nurses if they hate people? I found these mostly to be the Night Shift people. Next step is the hospital beds, they have two types. I'm gonna call them the Chevy and the Cadillac. Needless to say they are both uncomfortable. The bar that gets them to move up and down so you could sit lay down have your legs up or also what sticks in your back the entire time making sleep impossible. The Chevy beds I have to admit did at least have convenient factors of a cell phone charger right in the framework so you didn't have to try and stretch it to the wall. It was also easier to make the bed go up and down, which is extremely helpful around meal times. It is a pain to get your food served on a tray that needs to slide under your bed, except it doesn't give you room to sit with the table in front of you. There were so many times when I had to eat almost laying down with just my neck above the food tray, not comfortable The temperature throughout the hospital it's always a bit chilly. I can't remember the reason for it but it's medical. One room they had me in. I was freezing and I like the cold. I asked for more blankets since most of the blankets they have are so thin. My favorite was they asked me if I wanted a heated blanket and what they do is they throw it in the dryer for about 15 minutes then bring it to you. So you have a short amount of time where your body can absorb that heat before it's all cold again. My main point being is that freezing room was freezing because the air conditioning was broken in it and it was probably about 62° until they fixed it. Now the most important factor the food. Most of the time they will hand you the menu items that you can order off of they don't tell you about the off menu items. Get to know the lady who brings around the menus and be real nice to her and she will tell you what off menu items that she can get for you. There were certain things I did, which I don't normally do. I told them I was allergic to pork because that pork was so overcooked. It was disgusting. Don't order extra vegetables. It basically is overcooked mush. And whatever you do, don't eat the eggs in the morning. They are the fake powder kind that you mix with water and fry up. Trust me it taste fake. Some of the favorites of the off menu items were the spinach, strawberry pecan salad and the grilled chicken sandwich. I don't know about anyone else, but I basically saw my doctor for approximately two minutes before I went in for surgery and that was it. You mostly deal with the nurses or the doctors assistants. During my time there, they were renovating the hospital because it was an older one. So if you were brought to the basement to have test done, you get to go by the new cafeteria being built, which was going to be huge. I don't want to say I wanna be here again but as a hospital, it was OK

I picked up my partner after surgery and we packed up everything but my dual apple charger. once we…read moregot home and realized we forgot to pack it, we immediately called them and they said they'd hold it. so when we went back to pick it up, they gave us a completely different charger that wasn't ours- the cheap kind. they also discharged my partner without proper instructions or contact info for a follow up appointment. overall, the staff are pretty nice but it's extremely fishy that they "immediately found" my charger and it wasn't the correct one. I feel like it was stolen because it was a really nice charger and I just don't understand how they found the wrong charger when we called them 10 mins after we left the hospital. and pretty sloppy care for my partner too, making them wait a long time for pain medication, etc etc. i'm sure it's not anybody's fault but the politics but still. we still deserve top line care especially with the cost of healthcare in this country. super disappointed.

I love how quick the discharge process was -- they make it so simple for you. Shoutout to Colin and Sherry, they are the best nurses we have come across and that says a lot given we are in an ER every few months. They are very great at making you feel heard and overall just amazingly nice people. The best of the best. Dr. Wright was very knowledgeable and just as respectful/nice as the nurses. Dr. Wright spent the time with us that a lot of medical providers fail to do. He explained options, possible effects, and helped us with decision making. He never made us feel like he was in a rush. We have visited the Bastrop location twice in the last couple months. The experience was better…read morethan any I've had at hospital ERs. We first went to a Hospital ER but the wait was unknown, nobody ewas even in the lobby to answer questions, there wasn't even a window to wait at (really Strange, and we used to go there every time). I checked the wait online for Ally. It was less than 15mins so we drove there and there was no wait when we arrived. Checked in online during the drive. Filled out a couple forms as we sat in the lobby for a few mins and were called in almost before we could finish them. The staff was very friendly and efficient both visits. The first visit was for my son with an injured finger. He was brought to a room, provided pain mangament and xrays quickly. Broken finger diagnosis was provided, we got a cd with the Xrasy on it, splint and supplies to adjust it. Out the door very satisified with the service. Our second visit was my wife having abdominal pain. Again, immediate entry, barely time to fill out the forms and we were in a room. They provided pain meds and a CT within 30mins or less. We ended up transferred to the Hospital and they arranged everything. It was seamless and the staff was great in helping her. The rooms were clean and nice. I highly recommend Ally. They bill insurance, and do not charge for anything insurance doesn't cover which is amazing! Will be going there again if the need arises.

RN Nikki got me back to a room, listened to all my complaints and even had me laughing through my pain. Nikki was wonderful and made a rough situation better, she's funny, caring and over all everything I ask for in a medical care giver. Joe (tech) was ready and waiting to help me and get vitals. Dr. Patel was quick and efficient. I will continue to go to Ally for emergent needs.
