By far the worst place ever, be prepared to wait at a minimum 3 hours, most likely more. They are very unorganized and it shows while you watch them during the many hours you will be waiting to see a so called eye specialist. Brutal!!!! read more

Terrible experience, fall of 2024, that will affect me forever. Referred to Prism by hospital ER. Expensive scans done. Concerns not listened to. Told "everything fine, you have nothing to worry about". NOT FINE. Needed retinal surgery, thankfully found a doctor in Toronto. Delay meant I could have had a better outcome. The other ophthalmologist --who of course did same tests and exams--was able to diagnose looking at just a low-res black and white scan of a fax of my test from Prism that I showed him. In other words, either Prism doctor didn't look at scans, didn't care, wasn't competent or willing to refer to someone who is--or for some reason decided I didn't deserve my vision. It's taken me a long time to come back and write a review as I was severely traumatized. This was Dr. Michelle Khan at Prism who treated me this way. I am still shocked that this happened. I did get surgery in Toronto and surely wish I had just gone there first. But it's not easy to get an appointment with an ophthalmologist. I was even warned by my optometrist, who was fighting this battle alongside me, that I might not even be allowed to get a second opinion. To which I replied, "I went to Prism. I didn't get a first opinion!" Prism might be good for routine issues, cataract surgery, for-profit procedures, I don't know. However I found it to be a black hole of despair in regards to my retinal problem. If you have an eye emergency in Halton-Peel, the hospitals do not have ophthalmologists on staff, so they refer you to Prism. I wish there was a better way, for all the patients in the future. read more

I was referred from the hospital to Prism Eye Institute in Brampton. Unfortunately, my experience there was very disappointing. The clinic was overbooked, and the equipment appeared to be outdated. A nurse quickly sent me to an examination room, and the doctor spent only 2-5 minutes with each patient before moving on to the next room. When it was my turn, the doctor briefly looked at my eye and told me to book another appointment. I had a tear in my retina, but he either didn't see it or chose to ignore it. I wasn't even given a chance to explain my symptoms. The doctor was rude and unprofessional--he treated me with no compassion. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion at another clinic. They immediately found the retinal tear and treated it. If I had trusted the first clinic, I could have lost my vision. Please be very careful. I strongly advise against going to this institute--especially if you have a serious eye condition. read more

The office experience is absolutely awful. They do not take outside calls. They have extension numbers to call the individual doctors where the mail box is full and do not receive any messages. They change your appointments with only one day notice. They do not respect existing appointments. The messages left in our answering machines are inteligible with voices so pathetic worse call center experience. if their eye care is reflected on their attention to public... Very poor administrative experience. They leave you on the phone for more than 2 hours then voice mail and no one returns back to you. When you go expect to stay the whole day there, neither they nor their doctors respect their appointments or patients. Not all of their doctors are professional... my mom had a glaucoma surgery with one of their doctors ... and no success, as if she did nothing. Saw Dr Malam today for my regular bi annual diabetes eye exam. He is an excellent physician who has treated me for over 10 years. He has a very professional but warm approach. Very happy with his treatment and highly recommend him for anyone seeking eye treatments. read more

Yesterday l had several eye tests done at the Prism Eye Institue. I have been a patient of Dr. Klein for many years. The tests were rescheduled for a different time but still on the original date. Upon arrival, l was met by a friendly person who explained how the office area would be used. The seating area was specifically arranged for distance. Everyone who did the testing was quite patient and helpful. These days we are all somewhat challenged. They treated each patient with calm manners and were very helpful. Dr. Klein called today as was arranged at the scheduled time. He is very calm and reassuring. This is always his manner. I am quite fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Klein at the Prism Eye Institute. The wait time at Prism Eye Institute is extremely long & frustrating. Appointments are given but the doctor never sees a patient on time. I had an appointment today at 10am. I got there and checked in at 9.20am and when I was called in for the appointment to see the doctor it was 2.00pm This is not the 1st time this long wait has happened. This is constantly happening and the Management should take some action to rectify this. This delay has been brought to the attention of the doctor several times. There are always excuses being made for the long wait. Sitting in the waiting area takes about 2 - 2 1/2hours and once you get into the room to see the doctor another 45 minutes of waiting and the consultation with the doctor is not more than 15 - 20 minutes. This is very frustrating to keep waiting as we have jobs to go to. It is a case of constantly apologizing but nothing has changed even if a complaint is made. Appointments should not be overbooked. The receptionists are unable to help with these delays. After 3 hours of waiting to see the doctor, the lady at the designated area where the doctor is consulting takes her lunch break and there goes an hour there too. The management of Prism Eye Institute should take some action it is disgustingly lacking. Dr. Elham Rastikerdar is so busy with many patients and her answer is always that she is behind in her appointments. Why are appointments overbooked keeping patients waiting taking 1/2 day of their time just to consult with the doctor for 15 - 20 minutes only. This delay is happening for years and about time the Management of Prism Eye Institute take some action to rectify this situation. read more

The business is run like a factory, you feel like an object being processed on an assembly line. During my first set of tests, a large man pointed to a room and states "in there". Next he points to a chair "SIT" then says "put your face to screen". As I'm moving towards the screen of the machine, he puts his hand on the back of my head and pushes my face into the screen. My nose is bent sideways as he smears my face and then tells me to turn my head. He forcefully turns my head and I'm having difficulty breathing because my nose is smushed up against the face of this machine. Next part is in another section of the building. The places is massive with which must have been over 100 hundred people sitting and waiting to be seen by a tech and then the Doctor. There are so many people there that the waiting areas goes from A to E. It's like being at the airport waiting for your flight. Sitting for the hour and a half to see the Doctor, I observed the many small rooms being filled with patients and the Doctors going into the room, spending 5 minutes with the patient then darting to the next room on and on. Then the empty rooms being reloaded with new patients. when I did see the DR and get my examination, I was told that I needed Laser surgery and that I would be getting it right away. I was sent to another room where they put more drops in my eyes to dilate then even more. I was then handed a piece of paper to sign, unable to really read the paper and totally overwhelmed and freaked out by the news that I need and was getting the laser surgery right then. My head was spinning! I signed the paper. Dr comes in and puts a contact lens in to magnify the eye. He then put something in my eye that feels like a spoon. I immediately feel and intensely uncomfortable pressure on my already very sore eye. Then intense white light and stars. I'm now having a panic attack and he hasn't even fired up the laser yet. The laser work was very very uncomfortable, despite being told that I wouldn't feel a thing!!! after he was finished, he darted off to the next patient leaving me with a bunch of questions in my mind. I was so shaken by how this whole ordeal played out, that I went to my car and sat for an hour to collect myself. read more

I have been here on two occasions within the last week and is scheduled for more till the end of September. First off, this was done through referral from another optometrist. Upon entering, the place is spacious and clean and staff are easily identifiable by the navy blue scrubs they wear. Doctors are business casual clothing and adorn a lanyard with name tag. To check-in, you must have you health card. First time patients, you are required to fill out a Client History Form, it was pretty self explanatory. As for the wait time. Yes, there is a wait time. But you are notified of this ahead of time. The reason being is for clients that are diabetic or have other medical concerns that require food or pills at a certain time. I know this for a fact as I asked the receptionist at the front. I've now had two positive experiences here. The Doctor that was seen was informative, knowledgeable and provided all details regarding the next set of appointments and procedures. I can't complain about the service I received. My only issue was that they were about 15-20 minutes behind on specific eye tests, that could be due to over booking or group booking. Either way, it was not a huge dent in my day, but it would be a recommendation for them to remedy. read more

Two and a half hour wait for my mother to receive a written prescription for eye drops. Eye Prism was alerted before the appointment was made and knew it was only for a written prescription. A few other clients and their relatives had appointments that the same Doctor over booked and also had to wait up to 3 hours for their appointments. Why do Doctors/Specialists over book and have clients waiting half a day to see a doctor? Totally uncalled for and being clients with all different forms of ailments that make them physically sick for waiting so long. read more

Service: Since this is the first Yelp review for this business, perhaps I can go into a little more detail. I was actually referred to see the opthamologist here by a doctor from a Walk-In Clinic. All the staff were okay, definitely looked a little tired, but not rude or mean. It's a super big clinic. My only pointer for you is to get someone to drop you off or drive you. Most likely you are in here because your eyes have issues and I'm sure you will get a dilating agent (but hey, I'm no doctor). Make sure you tell your buddy to look for parking behind the building, around the corner. Wait Times: The place is so big they have names for different waiting areas, I lol'ed. Anyhow, the whole process took less than 1.5 hours. That's not too bad, maybe people here are more privileged, I rarely get to see a doctor in less than 1 hour (don't hate me). I do think the healthcare system needs to be revised, especially when you book an appointment time and that time is not honoured. Personally I prefer doctors who spend more time with patients, regardless of who is booked after...aren't we talking about someone's eyes here? Doctors: Mine was fine. Just my 2 cents, for any health care service, if you are not well-versed in medical terminology or need help with understanding treatment plans - bring someone else. I always do this, so take it or leave it (my advice I mean). Try to write down all your questions before attending your appointment, before letting your doctor do anything - ask them what they intend to do (sometimes they forget or assume you are okay with everything), it's ok to ask health care professionals to repeat or better yet write things down for you. I'm not saying the ophthalmologist I saw was perfect. When I mentioned some other symptom, he went to back to look at my eye again and performed more stuff...probably could have done that since the beginning. I guess my nudge to him prompted the doctor to think "I better be extra careful and be 100% sure". read more

There only looking to make more money by booking additional appointment that are not necessary. Doctor says one thing to book surgery at hospital meanwhile appointment desk will try and book another appointment in office before surgery just to make another buck. Yet, when I called then out on it they tried to tell me I don't understand the English language of what the doctor told me...sorry i understood him very clear same as the assist before him. Very poor administration! I have a referral from my doctor and it was faxed 2 times. It took me 2 or 3 times calling to connect with them. They did not find a record. My doctor faxed again and no response. I tried to connect with them several times at different days and times. It was just ringing and no takers, no voice mail nothing. Extremely poor experience! Well after that I was waiting 45 minutes to see nurse first and doctor after. I was not given the proper information prior to laser iridotomy. Despite videos, and emails I was sent pre-procedure and my in person consult - nobody told me this procedure could or would be extremely painful. In fact I was lead to believe that I wouldn't feel anything. This was a horrible experience. And I felt like I was treated as just another number in an assembly line. While some of the doctors are fantastic, Prism's administration is disgustingly lacking. 1) you receive a robo call re your appointment - after hours. This is deliberate so that you cannot speak to anyone. 2) you call the next day (they got the appointment time and date incorrect) and, if you're lucky, you enter a queue. After being told I was fifth in line, I was asked if I wanted to provide a call-back number and then was disconnected. 3) you call back again and the recording states that you have requested an incorrect option. 4) you go on their website and fill out a form. PLEASE TELL ME HOW SOMEONE WITHOUT A COMPUTER HAS ANY HOPE OF CONTACTING YOU! You then get a "thank you for your submission" email back which states that Prism will make three attempts only to reach you and no additional attempts will be made and your request will be considered closed. 5) you get 2 calls from them but are unable to hear them. You fill out another form. This is not the first time I have advised Prism of their unacceptable practices. Years ago, before they instituted the online form I was finally forced to go to their office as repeated phonecalls were going unanswered. Prism needs a much needed and overdue overhaul. This is not how you treat your patients - or people that wish to become your patient but can't get through. read more

The Worst Clinic Ever - Long Waits - Which i do not mind because i can wait longer for my eyes but the problem was neither the wait nor the parking but the Doc herself. If you find yourself going to this eye care centre. Stay away from Dr. Elham something - She goes by her last name but Elham is her first name. Very Rude Doc. Total waste of time. Does not give any answers to your questions Does not listen to the problem you are having .. A very bad experience. I am never going to this place ever again just because of the worst attitude of this Doctor. Apparently, they were behind and all the appointments were getting delayed, this had some kind of stress on the doctor to see the patients in a rush and get it done and over with. When asked questions after she had done a check up on the eyes, she had no answers - She said " ask this from your surgeon " The next questions - She said " ask this from an optometrist " If all the answers are with either surgeons or optometrists , why the hell did i waste my time in your clinic ? So far I'm in this office. I got here at 9:30am and they said that I would have 3-5 hours of testing which is fine. But! I came here from another country and it's costing over $5,000 and they booked my testing and appointment with an 1 hour and 40 minute gap. I am so mad. There is nothing that anybody will do about it. No explanation. Nothing. They make such an amazing dr look so dumb. I don't believe the stupidity and lack of explanation. So I will be here from 9:30 am to prob 5:30 pm. PLEASE read this review if you are planning on being treated at the PRISM EYE INSTITURE. On Thursday February 6th, my 85 year old Father had an appointment at Prism Eye Institute for a check up on his eyes. My father is being treated for stage 4 cancer that has spread into his spine and is on a pain management plan that involves morphine 24 hours a day. My parents specifically scheduled an early morning visit with Dr Klein so he would not be delayed and could be back home with the least amount of time. One would expect this could be accomplished in 1 hour max. Not so ... My father was kept waiting over 3 1/2 hours for this 5 minute visit with Dr. Klein. When my mother explained my fathers circumstances to the receptionist and asked if they could rush my father in as he had been waiting over an hour and was in tremendous pain, they did NOTHING to help expedite his visit. The receptionist didn't even look my mother in the eye but kept doing what she was doing and said ... "just a couple more patients in front of you", even though anyone if you just looked could plainly see he was white as a ghost and in tremendous pain. My mother tried to get him to leave at that point but my father did not want to leave, as he BELIEVED the receptionist and was sure he would only be a few more minutes. 90 minutes later my father got in to see Dr. Klein. My father finally got his 5 minutes in front of Dr. Klein and when my mother explained what happened and complained, she was told in future, "just tell my support team about your situation and they will put you in to see me right away". NOT TRUE! My mother did tell them almost 2 hours before my father was seen by Dr. Klein. The support people lack empathy and compassion and did NOTHING to help my father have his appointment within a reasonable time frame. It is a disgrace that this company and the people working there believe they can deliver service this poor ANYONE. I question if this company and its people are about caring for the health of their patients or simply making a buck off them at any cost. This patient will not be back!!! I will be taking my father to my DR who is a professional and has never made me wait more than 20 minutes. read more

The worst most unprofessional place I have ever been to. I have serious eye issues and have been going to this clinic for over one year and have been seeing a few different doctors. The communication between staff is so poor that I cannot even get a message to a doctor, and doctors don't answer messages either. I have so many unresolved issues with this places. I would go somewhere else if I had the option. Too many issues to post about but stay away if you can. read more

Horrible experience trying to get my daughter an appointment here. I was the one who suggested it to the neurologist when we noticed her eyes don't converge properly, which you would think would be a simple thing, but Prism has refused to book her appointment since I faxed the referral in myself, and later, they supposedly "needed more information and were waiting to the neurologist to get back to them". The fact that the referral said it was urgent, since we have been waiting for almost 3 years to explain the double vision, seems to make no difference. Shame on our health care system and shame in Prism. We still do not have an appointment at this time so I have now told the neurologist that perhaps Brampton was not the best idea and to find a quicker one please. read more
