They barely looked at it, didn't mention all the things that Bill pointed out, told me they couldn't do it until 3 weeks later, then said it would cost twice as much as Bill's quote. Needless to say, we went with Bill. He started the job quickly and wrapped it up even quicker. When he was done he even quoted us on painting the entire deck, which we took him up on because painting a deck is a major pain in the ass. He completed the painting in about 2 weeks (due to weather and holidays) and it came out great. The deck required 3 coats due to the dark stain that was originally on it, but Bill didn't change the cost of the job or complain. I'll call him again if we have another big project that we need a hand with. He's a good dude.

Finally wrote them s letter which I still have a copy of....nothing...no response...ever...called once more...nothing. Weather turned to winter and I left it go...now out 500.00 dollars and my roof is leaking horribly. I just experienced another rainy day ...horrible leaking going on still but am totally fearful of hiring someone again for fear of being ripped off once again. These guys are aweful..im retired woman alone and I trusted them to take my money and do the job. I don't like complaining but my daughter's are angry now that I've told them why we can't sit on the deck when it rains as we did before these people made a small leak turn into a huge disaster...then totally refuse to get back to me when I tried to contact them over and over again....I lost 500.00... The National Grid gentleman arrived in less than an hour from notification. His first question: do you have a humidifier? Answer: yes. Turns out the gas flame was being affected by the minerals in the humidifying mist changing the flame's color to orange. I shut off humidifier and shortly thereafter the color of the gas flame had returned to its normal blue color. Thanks, Jason.

I engaged or at least attempted to contact nearly 10 companies for a few projects at my home. 3…read morecalled me back (and ghosted me after setting up an appointment) and only 1 showed up. I'd never heard of Men Construction before this project and decided to give them a try. Their estimate was in line with my budget and we had the following work done: removed 4 skylights, added a drop ceiling entire second floor, deck railing, painted ceilings both bathrooms and bow window in LivingRoom. The project took some time, more than my wife had liked, but was right on target with what was communicated. Men showed up on time, when they stated, and completed work as scheduled. Even after a few adjustments (as happens during efforts like this) the team and company was able to adjust and keep moving forward. The communication was as expected during the effort and I honestly don't have anything negative to say for the workmanship, a few extremely minor details (nothing that needed fixed, just observations). The team was exceptional on-site, cleaned-up every day, and was respectful of the disruptions to our daily routine. I would highly recommend and hire them again for future projects. NOTE: The state of contractors today is trash. People make appointments, don't show up, half-ass jobs and ghost you on follow-ups, start and never finish, start and drag out to an unacceptable time line. I get it, business is good and small $$$ jobs just get pushed to the bottom. I've had contractors drop me because a $5k job was "too small" and they got a higher paying job and could afford to just leave my work unfinished. Men was nothing like these people, not at all.
