My first impression came from my admissions advisor, Kareem. He was incredibly informative, helped me gather everything I needed to make a solid decision, and kept a great sense of humor throughout the process. To my dismay, the financial aid office did seem a bit overwhelmed and disorganized. However, they were still able to assist me as long as I made an appointment in advance. I decided to enroll in the Vocational Nursing program. To be completely transparent, I wasn't entirely satisfied with every single instructor. But overall, it's a great program, and the teachers who go above and beyond--like Dr. Kailub and Mr. Arroyo--really make all the difference. Some administrators go out of their way to help, too. I have an incredible amount of respect for Dr. Shirley; she puts in so much work to ensure her VN students excel, no matter what hurdles come their way. Last but far from least is Gale Wasif, the Director of Nursing. I have immense appreciation for her because she consistently helped me realize that the "mountains" in my way were really just molehills at the end of the day. Life doesn't stop just because you're in school, and neither do the obstacles. Having a team of teachers, administrators, and a DON who truly care about your future is imperative for success in a fast-paced, accelerated nursing program. I'm incredibly grateful to have found that support system at Concorde Career College.

Graduating from the Dental Hygiene program was one of the most rewarding accomplishments of my…read morelife. The program is demanding and requires a strong commitment, but every challenge was worth it in the end. The director of the DH program and instructors truly want their students to succeed and were always supportive, encouraging, and available whenever guidance was needed. The curriculum and clinical experience helped me build confidence, strengthen my skills, and prepare for real-life experiences in the dental field. There were definitely difficult moments along the way, but the program pushed me to grow into a capable and knowledgeable clinician. I'm very thankful for everything I learned and for the support system the program provided throughout the journey. I'm proud to have been part of this program and would highly recommend it to anyone pursuing a career in dental hygiene.

You have the few who are there to learn and absorb the knowledge and the majority who pay to be there to take-up space, learn nothing, and be obstacles to learning. 3. Thieves. Many tools and supplies "magically" went missing. Started the program with six meters and by the end if the course we had to "fight" for use of the one that remained. Makes it harder to learn the practical when opportunists steal from the school and subsequently the students. 4. Lack of physical books. I did NOT appreciate being semi-forced to use the online books. Though I wad told they were "free" having to pay shipping fees for each book (10 books) was insane. If a student prefers physical media, it should be provided for the cost of admission. Books do NOT to be charged nor connected to wi-fi. Something to address going forward. School positives: 1. The instructors (Juan and Leo) were knowledgeable! When I needed clarity, they both responded in timely manners in understandable ways. I read the words, watched the videos, played the PowerPoint videos, so I went with many clarification inquiries. 2. Interim Career Counselor Bonnie. She stepped in right around the time I was graduating and genuinely wanted to help myself and any others who were willing. Her whole career has been helping and she was fantastic! Clear, concise, and helpful in the career planning department that i, myself, arent the best at, thus far. I feel i got most of what I expected with a few hiccups. I chose to do the work, so I feel more confident leaving as a 3.7gpa graduate.

If you are unable to self, teach your self material then this school is not for you. The administrative staff does nothing to help resolve your concerns. The Director of nursing will also withhold your credits if you complete the program and do not pass their comprehensive exam when you are eligible by law to challenge the LVN board. You will consistently spend money on exit exams, roughly 80$ A test. before you begin this program you should check with the board if there are any past incidents on the nursing license of the Director of nursing and any other instructor that you may be concerned. Many students that have completed the program, but have not been guided or helped to pass. The exit exam did nothing with their LVN credits from clinical and theory and we're never able to further their education or let alone get an LVN license.

If you are looking to get some computer certifications, this school is partnered with most of the major players: Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco and others. One great thing about this school is that all of the workstations have dual monitors, so that you can follow the instructor's presentation on one monitor, and work through the labs on the second monitor, allowing you to toggle between screens easily. They offer both instructor led classes, as well as mentored learning, where you can study independently through the labs on your own pace. In all honesty, most of the focus is on self-study, so if you are looking for a place to hold your hand during the learning process, this place is not it. Also, if you are studying for a certification, you should probably buy supplemental books just to fill in some gaps in their study material. The facility itself is very clean and well laid out. The classrooms are on the cold side, so I would advise bringing a sweater/sweatshirt. There have been times that it has been so cold that it is hard to concentrate on learning, so I wish they would do a better job of climate control. The staff here is usually helpful and willing to lend a hand, especially Felicia, who is able to track down answers when you need them. Note to Management: Get some chairs for the lab rooms that are at least semi-ergonomic. When you have to sit down at a lab for close to 8 hours, the chairs you currently have don't cut it.

I'm someone who completed the Electrical Program at CET. Even though I had a great relationship…read morewith everyone at the school, I still want to give future students an honest perspective on the program. If you're looking for a program you can complete relatively quickly and you're willing to put in the time and effort to learn the trade, you can succeed here. However, from my experience, you will have to depend heavily on self-learning and help from classmates. I personally felt that the instructors in both the AM and PM classes could have been much stronger in the classroom and more hands-on in the lab. When I first entered the program, I knew absolutely nothing about the electrical trade, so most of what I learned came from putting in the time to teach myself, practice, and learn from my classmates. Another issue was materials. We would sometimes run short on electrical materials and have to wait a while for more to come in. Even when they finally arrived, the amount we were allowed to use was limited, which made it harder to get as much hands-on practice as we should have. I think future students should know is that job placement assistance was not what I expected. The school tells students that they will help with finding employment, and the website mentions "Job Placement Assistance," but in my experience, I had to do most of the job searching and applying on my own. My biggest piece of advice to future electrical students is: once you receive your ET card and OSHA 10, start applying immediately. Don't wait until graduation. Apply everywhere, email electrical companies directly, call companies, and go above and beyond to get your foot in the door. CET can give you an opportunity to enter the electrical trade, but you need to be consistent and willing to teach yourself, practice, ask questions, and actively pursue employment. Your success will depend heavily on how much effort you put into it.

I enrolled with Mission Career College on August 7 and was scheduled to begin classes at the San…read moreBernardino campus on August 31. On August 26, I called the school specifically to confirm the start date, class hours, and lunch schedule. During that conversation, I was not informed that the class had been canceled or that there were any issues with the scheduled start date. When I arrived at the San Bernardino campus on August 31, the building was closed, the lights were off, and no staff members were present. There was also a Southern California Edison "Final Call" notice posted on the door regarding the electric service. I have included a photo of the notice with this review. Seeing an electric-service notice posted on the door of a career college where I was supposed to begin my education was very concerning. Combined with the canceled class and lack of communication, it made me seriously question the reliability and credibility of the school and whether I could depend on the program remaining available long enough for me to complete my training. Because I had received no notification explaining the situation, I drove to the Riverside campus, where I originally enrolled and completed my assessment. Staff there informed me that someone should have contacted me to let me know the San Bernardino class had been canceled. I was also told that the San Bernardino location may be shutting down and that there may be a night class at the Riverside campus toward the end of September if enough students enroll. I am extremely disappointed with how this was handled. I had been enrolled since August 7 and had already waited nearly a month for the program to begin. More importantly, I personally contacted the school only five days before my scheduled start date to verify the class information. Despite that, I was given no indication that the class would not be taking place. There is also an issue involving my workers' compensation education vouchers. The vouchers were returned to me, but I was informed that they had already been submitted for payment. I now have to contact my workers' compensation administrator to make sure payment is not processed so that I can use my vouchers toward a program at another school. I understand that classes can be canceled and circumstances can change. However, I believe an enrolled student should be notified promptly--especially when that student specifically calls days beforehand to confirm the class. Finding out that my class had been canceled only after arriving at a closed campus, seeing an electric-service notice on the door, and then having to drive to another campus to obtain an explanation was extremely disappointing. It has delayed my education and created an additional issue involving my workers' compensation funding. Based on my experience, I would recommend that prospective students get their enrollment information, class start date, and funding status in writing and verify everything before making plans around a scheduled program and continuously check that your class is still scheduled to start.

The Diesel Technology Department at SBVC is as good as it gets! The classroom sizes are perfect,…read more(not too big, not too small) so everyone gets plenty of hands-on experience. There are plenty of Heavy/Medium Duty Diesel trucks to work on and all types of engines (Cummins, Detroit, CAT, Mercedes, etc). The instructors are extremely knowledgeable in Diesel Technology and are very passionate about this program. They go out of their way to be sure their students get the best education and experience from the Diesel Technology program. And it doesn't stop there. I've seen/heard the head instructor, Ken Melancon, on the phone following up on the students that have already completed the program, to find out how they are doing, if they are working yet, giving them leads on jobs, etc. He is very highly respected by all of his students. If you're looking for THE BEST Heavy/Medium Duty Diesel Truck Mechanic training program..... this is it! (And I heard they have been approved for an Associate Degree program beginning in 2017).
