They provide us with plenty of what we need to be comfortable away from home: weekly housekeeping, full size appliances, laundry & dish soap, and respond well to any needs. First off, to be able to fairly compare these to other units you have to understand their business model, which is to be the T-Mobile of apartments - offering transparent, all-inclusive pricing with no hidden fees. That means no deposit, application fees, cable/internet, electricity, pest control, trash or water fees. The apartments here are 525 sq ft and run $1275 unfurnished. The biggest problem I foresee with these units, is that they feel so outdated compared to a lot of the apartments entering the market. When you enter your unit you walk right into a stacked washer and dryer (no door or anything), you're surrounded by a sea of white appliances and cheap flooring and finish-outs (i.e. no walk-in closet, cheap vinyl-looking countertops). You also can't upgrade the internet or TV packages (which are U-Verse and DirectTV respectfully). The "business center" is really a nook or desk with a single computer and printer and not much room for anything else on it. So why the 2-star review? Am I against transparent pricing? Of course not! But when you look at area apartments you have to wonder who the audience is. Most apartments in the area are offering apartments between 597-729 sq feet at rates of between $785-$999. At these apartments, you have higher levels of finish out like Whirlpool stainless steel appliances, islands with pendant lights, wine racks / coolers, resort style pools, multi-level, full-sized gyms, granite/quartz in the kitchen and bathrooms with decorative backsplashes, updated plumbing (i.e. Moen) fixtures, modern touches (i.e. Nest thermostats, free Amazon Alexas, built-in speakers for bluetooth music streaming, option for gigabit internet speeds), rooftop terraces with expansive views and an actual business center with multiple workstations and room for residents (plural) to sit and work (many in the form of dedicated conference rooms or study spaces in student housing). And by the time you add in fees and other costs you break even if not come out slightly more expensive. It's worth noting that apartments with higher numbers of vacancies don't mind waiving admin and security deposit fees or even giving free months of rent away to fill units and these are available to everyone. So then I started to think maybe students are the target audience with the proximity to UTSA. The issue here is there are a lot of properties and homes popping up catering to students and the finish outs and amenities are getting better and better as well. For instance, for $1125-$1199, one can net a fully furnished unit with gigabit internet, HBO, 50" LED TV and all utilities except electricity paid. This is in an upgraded unit with stainless steel, granite, etc. They also waive admin and deposit fees and give you 1/2 off a month's rent. And this is a 576 sq foot unit. The lady (short, looked like Thelma from Scooby Doo with black hair) giving the tour was telling me that they have the same finish outs and I'm equally concerned about them for competition there too. At $139 (current rate) a night they're more expensive than a king sized suite with sofa bed at the Drury Inn and Suites, $30 less than the king sized room at the all-suite SpringHill Suites and $20 less than the king, 2-room suite at the new Embassy Suites. It's worth noting that this place is literally surrounded by (3) Hiltons and (3) Marriotts (soon to be four) so there's also loyalty programs and pricing that may also make these a more attractive option. In summary, if I were the owner of these apartments/hotels I'd start putting money aside for "refreshing and modernizing" because for a brand new place, the units already look very dated and they're not very competitively priced for the area / level of finish. As a side note, they were telling us that the apartments weren't ready for move-in yet so for now, you'd be staying at the hotel and would get 50% off a month's rent price and move into an actual apartment unit once they're ready.

Anna and Jeremy asked the reason for my stay so I wanted to be nice and make them feel comfortable. I told them a little about myself and the reason for my travel as well as who will be with me, my mom and my ESA dog who is trained (explained to them) and told them if they had any questions about my ESA to reach out to me and I'll happily provide any information. Without them messaging me prior, they canceled my reservation without an explanation. I reached out to both Airbnb and Anna & Jeremy for the reasoning. I was told by Anna and Jeremy that they were selling the property so that it would no longer be available. That did not make sense to me because the listing was still up and active. Airbnb reached out to me shortly after and explained to me that it was because I had an ESA dog with me. There is also no where on their listing that states that their property is not dog friendly. I do not appreciate being lied to.

The waterside cabana was awesome and probably our favorite part of our trip. I'd give the cabins a 2.5-3 star because it wasn't the cleanest. The cabinets had some grime on them and the counters. It didn't smell too fresh either. It didn't look anything like the photos which was a little disappointing. I can tell it has been run down over time. It's sad because I feel like a little bit of TLC and keeping matching towels and bedding can go a long way. We were also missing 2 bar stools and I had to ask for them because we were a family of 7 and there were only 4 stools, they were quick to accommodate which was appreciative! The barstools were different and didn't match, not a huge deal! It is a little disappointing when the pics don't look like the real deal. Feels a little misleading. I'd give it a 3 star for maintenance and upkeep in general. Between the cabins needing some upkeep, the decks by the game hall rotting in some spots, the game hall inside needs some TLC just about everywhere. But a little bit of it would go a long way. I feel this place could easily be a 5 star place if they tried just a bit more. Looking forward to trying their other locations. I do recommend this place but I would be mindful of how much the rate is. I think we went during a higher rate period...the value for dollar comes into play here. When you add the cabana and the wristbands for the kayaks, stand up paddle boards and the Lilly pad for our youngest the price can really get up there. I do wish that some perks were included like they used to include such as the cabanas and water toys. I feel like that would really set this place over! Overall a great family time for our family!

This was, without question, one of the biggest wastes of money we've ever experienced…read more We planned this trip to celebrate our twins' 9th birthday weekend. On Friday--the day we were supposed to arrive--we received a text saying that due to flooding there was no river access and that we could stay at one of their sister locations instead. We immediately called, only to be told that every other location was fully booked. Since the entire purpose of the trip was to celebrate our children's birthday that weekend, I asked for a refund so we could book somewhere else. They refused. Instead, they offered to let us come back another weekend. Unfortunately, you can't reschedule a birthday. We were already packed, our six kids were excited, pets already with their sitter and paid for, etc. We had also purchased day passes for Saturday so we could enjoy the river. They said those would be refunded and offered us access to a sister location 45 minutes away instead. While we appreciated having some option, driving 45 minutes away is completely different from having a full day of activities right outside your cabin. It was not the experience we paid for. To make matters worse, our cabin had no electricity Friday night. It was incredibly hot, and we weren't moved to another cabin until Saturday morning. The cabins also were dirty and one of the beds smelled like pee. Even after everything that happened, they have refused to offer any compensation for the hours we spent without electricity or for the inconvenience of having to move cabins. The promised refund for the day passes didn't happen either. I had to call multiple times before it was finally processed. The customer service has been the most frustrating part of all of this. I've called at least half a dozen times over the past three weeks asking to speak with a manager. Somehow, the manager is "always unavailable," no matter what day or time I call. Every time I'm told I'm on the callback list, yet no one ever calls. The employees answering the phones repeatedly say they have no authority to resolve anything. I rarely leave negative reviews. At 39 years old, I believe this is only the second bad review I've ever written. But after this experience, I feel other families deserve to know what they may be dealing with. Things happen--floods and power outages are beyond anyone's control. What is within a business's control is how they treat their customers. Unfortunately, this company showed very little concern for making things right, and that was the most disappointing part of the entire experience.

It was 45 degrees or less this past Saturday evening, along with rain. This venue is not the place to have a wedding if the weather is cold and rain is in the forecast. There are no indoor spaces, nor were there any heat sources like a patio heater, fire pit, etc. All guests were offered a blanket in 40 degree rainy weather. This venue is also on rough, steep, uneven terrain. If you have elderly people who have disabilities and are unable to walk well without using a cane or walker, Please do them a favor and do not book here. The outdoor spot was about a 30-40 foot cemented area with a tin roof about 40 feet above our heads, no walls or doors for that "open" feeling. Better planning for sure on the venue side. I guess you get what you pay for, but even for $3k, I could find a better place with both indoor and outdoor options. I hope this venue uses their profits to get clear wall coverings to help at least keep the sitting area dry and free of rain and mud and purchases outdoor patio heaters or fire pits.
