I attended a handful of classes at this studio and found the instructors, staff, and other clients to be friendly and inviting.

Hats off to the "The Ritual" for sponsoring an event with Rover dealership to support puppies…read moregetting adopted. I was pleased to be invited to this event- The event was a puppy yoga. Ritual is located in a strip mall close to Trader Joe in Thousand Oaks. The studio offers a wide range of classes and a tasteful array of retail. The studio is bright and clean, and offers a relaxing calming studio. Outside of the studio there are plenty of places to store your belongings. My experience at the studio was great- despite the fact that I barely got to practice. I appreciated the yoga instructor and his patience during this experience- it was fun to have puppies in the class. The instructions throughout this experience was relaxing and informative. I look forward to trying a more typical class despite loving the distractions from puppies. Parking is ample at this strip mall. The shopping is busy so be careful in the lot and be prepared to walk a little bit.

Here I am rolling into class like, "Heh, only 6 credits ," thinking I'm a financial genius, while behind the scenes the studio and the blonde assassin owner are basically getting paid in exposure, incense and dryer lint. I wasn't hacking the system--I was the system. Those credits were straight-up Chuck E. Cheese tokens: "Congrats, you survived heated sculpt, here's 10 tickets and a rubber spider. Also, the studio made 37 cents." Now that I know what's actually going on, I'm fully on Team Blonde Assassin. If anyone's going to roast my form, vaporize my quads, and trigger an emotional breakthrough in savasana, they deserves real money, not a handful of digital coupons. So yeah, RIP to my "free" workouts. I'll be over here swiping my card, supporting the studio, and pretending I totally knew how ClassPass worked this whole time. ‍

From someone rehabbing back from an ACL knee injury, she has been a gem throughout that process helping me focus on my weaknesses. She has an incredible eye for detail and truly understand how the body moves. Every session feels intentional and personalized, with clear cues and small corrections that make a huge difference. I've built strength in muscles I didn't even know I wasn't using, and my posture, flexibility, and core stability have improved more than I expected. What really stands out is how supported and motivated I feel during each workout. She balances encouragement with just the right level of challenge, and their knowledge of anatomy makes every session feel safe and effective. I always leave feeling stronger, more aligned, and more connected to my body. It's easily one of the best investments I've made in my health. Thank you McKay!

However, when I arrive there ON time, the front desk refused to let me in the class. I didn't get an email or any prior notice saying that they won't let me in if I don't arrive early. They also refused to return my ClassPass credit. If it's your policy, you should make it very clear that if someone is not 15 minutes early, they won't be let in. I'll make sure I never go back to this entitled place. Edit after owner's response: I'll just leave my review here for people's reference, and I'm not going to argue with you anymore. I just recommend you to change the language in "How to prepare" section to something like "you must arrive 15 minutes early or you will not be admitted to class" if you intend to enforce the policy because the language you have right now simply sounds a recommendation, not a rule. Good luck to your business.

To say I am in love with Pilates and the studio is an understatement. This is the most welcoming place I've been to. From the minute you walk in the door you are welcomed with a friendly smile, then you meet your instructor who again welcomes you and helps you through the class. The place is clean, accessible and all around great. I highly recommend for anyone who is new to Pilates and anyone who has been doing it for a while.

I worked as a personal trainer at the LA Fitness Agoura Hills location for approximately three…read moremonths. Before immigrating to the United States in 2001, I worked as a Group Fitness Instructor in my home country. After moving to the United States, I devoted many years to raising my twin children. Although I remained passionate about fitness throughout those years. After learning that the Agoura Hills location was hiring, I interviewed with Danny, the head trainer, and was hired. From my first day, I worked diligently, welcomed feedback, and continually tried to improve my skills. I genuinely enjoyed working with clients and believed I was making meaningful progress. During my employment, I was assigned multiple clients. However, I was never informed whether these clients were new clients assigned to me permanently or temporary substitutions for other trainers. As a result, several clients trained with me only once before returning to their original trainers. Later, I learned that these one-time sessions negatively affected my "return client percentage," even though those clients may never have intended to continue training with me. At the same time, several clients chose to continue training with me and expressed great satisfaction with my services. Approximately one month after I started working, I noticed a significant change in my boss, the head trainer, Danny's behavior toward me. He became increasingly distant, stopped acknowledging me, avoided eye contact, ignored me at work, and failed to respond to the few work-related text messages I sent him. I discussed this situation with my husband, who encouraged me to remain professional, continue performing my job to the best of my ability, and not allow this behavior to affect my work. On my final Friday at work, Danny asked whether I knew my return client percentage. I told him I understood that it was low. He then informed me that because my return percentage was below 60%, I can not work there any longer. This was the first time I had been informed that my employment was in jeopardy. I had never received any warning, coaching, performance improvement plan, or opportunity to address the issue. I was shocked and deeply saddened by this sudden termination. The following Monday, I visited the gym with my husband to work out as a member. At the front desk, I was informed that I was not permitted to enter because former trainers are subject to a three-month "cooling-off" period after their employment ends. This was another policy that had never been explained to me previously. Shayan later confirmed that this was company policy. I talked to Shayan, the District manager, regarding my unfair termination. He asked me to talk to HR if I feel being treated unfair, and I did. I emailed Kelcie at HR a letter with all details! Several days after submitting my complaint, I received a phone call from Kelcie in Human Resources. Kelcie stated that Danny had reported that I had told him I did not want to work at LA Fitness anymore and that management considered this to be my resignation. I told her that I never resigned, never indicated that I wished to resign, and was happy working there. I also explained that if I had intended to resign, I would have submitted a written resignation. Despite my repeated denials, Kelcie stated that management had informed Human Resources that I resigned and that my resignation had been accepted! Kelcie then stated that if I wanted to work for LA Fitness again, I would have to submit a new application. She further informed me that I would not be permitted to apply to the Agoura Hills location where I had previously worked. I found this response extremely troubling because it appeared that my employment status had been changed from a termination to a resignation without my knowledge or consent. I will take my complaint about my unfair treatment to government agencies so in the future nobody will be treated and fired unfairly! One more thing I need to add is that on Thursday, the day before Danny informed me that he no longer wanted me there, I went to Maria and asked whether I could add work time if my client did not show up for training. Without making any eye contact and in a very aggressive manner, she replied, "Go clean the bathrooms, or clean the windows if you want work time." Looking back, I believe Maria was already aware that Danny intended to fire me. Her rude and aggressive response, along with directing me to clean the bathrooms, makes me believe she knew I I would soon be dismissed.

The two small mat areas for stretching are crowded and often times unavailable. I often see coaches chit chatting on the mats and taking up space that could be used for workouts. The movable equipment like the boxes often are filled with personal item like phone and headsets so it's not easy to just grab what you need easily. Several times over the past few months the gym has had no hot water and/or no steam. I utilize the gym before work so this is a major issue. In fact as a write this just received a notification of no hot water. ‍ The sign up part was awesome, with Equinox providing guests passes, gift receipts for the store etc....ending the membership, however, has been painful. I started the process a week ago and my email wasn't on file despite providing all of my info thru the signup process. When I attempted to end my membership thru the email provided it had expired only two days later. Calling back, had to provide my email again. Went thru the cancellation process only to encounter an "error" at the end. Attempted several additional times with same result. Called the club and was informed a "report" had to be made and sent to the general manager for approval. What? My husband is now encountering the same shenanigans. No email on file, no address blah blah. The Equinox front desk manager was rude and condescending saying "I'm sorry mame" over and over. Extremely disingenuous attitude and tone as if just to get me off the phone and not genuinely sorry. Overall an awful experience. Beware, this is a hotel California membership.
