Hats off to the "The Ritual" for sponsoring an event with Rover dealership to support puppies getting adopted. I was pleased to be invited to this event- The event was a puppy yoga. Ritual is located in a strip mall close to Trader Joe in Thousand Oaks. The studio offers a wide range of classes and a tasteful array of retail. The studio is bright and clean, and offers a relaxing calming studio. Outside of the studio there are plenty of places to store your belongings. My experience at the studio was great- despite the fact that I barely got to practice. I appreciated the yoga instructor and his patience during this experience- it was fun to have puppies in the class. The instructions throughout this experience was relaxing and informative. I look forward to trying a more typical class despite loving the distractions from puppies. Parking is ample at this strip mall. The shopping is busy so be careful in the lot and be prepared to walk a little bit. read more

So I just found out ClassPass was screwing them over this whole time and now I feel like the guy who thought he was tipping 25% but accidentally hit "no tip" for six months. Here I am rolling into class like, "Heh, only 6 credits ," thinking I'm a financial genius, while behind the scenes the studio and the blonde assassin owner are basically getting paid in exposure, incense and dryer lint. I wasn't hacking the system--I was the system. Those credits were straight-up Chuck E. Cheese tokens: "Congrats, you survived heated sculpt, here's 10 tickets and a rubber spider. Also, the studio made 37 cents." Now that I know what's actually going on, I'm fully on Team Blonde Assassin. If anyone's going to roast my form, vaporize my quads, and trigger an emotional breakthrough in savasana, they deserves real money, not a handful of digital coupons. So yeah, RIP to my "free" workouts. I'll be over here swiping my card, supporting the studio, and pretending I totally knew how ClassPass worked this whole time. ‍ read more

The classes are fun and challenging. The instruction is hands-on if desired. Most classes are great for all levels because instructors provide modifications for beginners as well as advanced techniques. It's not crowded and doesn't have the feel of corporatized studios or gyms. I am currently in my 30 day trial and I've taken just about every class offered (except for the advanced classes). I'm not a person who's ever worked out regularly in my entire life. I definitely plan to sign up for an unlimited membership. read more

The Space A beautiful, modern studio with a minimalist and calming aesthetic. Spa-like locker room, shower, and bathroom - Always clean, fresh, and stocked. Everything about this studio is designed for a peaceful experience. The Classes Mat markers are thoughtfully placed inside the room to ensure perfect spacing, so every spot in the room feels like the best spot! No mirrors for less distraction, and more presence. Even the Infrared heating hits different as it feels like a clean, soothing warmth (vs the overwhelming, stuffy kind!). I never feel like I'm rushing to leave--it's a space that invites you to stay, breathe, and soak it all in. And the cool eucalyptus towels at the end of class are an absolute treat! The Instructors Every class feels like a favorite. Every single teacher here could easily be a "favorite instructor" at other studios. It's rare to find a place where every class feels top-notch, but The Ritual delivers. Although it's hard to pick a favorite instructor or class because every instructor brings something special to the table, I am currently loving Natalie's 60-minute Ashtanga Ritual and any of Doug's classes. I was never a fan of hot yoga before coming here, I completed a YTT abroad and spent the last few years practicing on my home because I prefer a more traditional style. But..I have finally found a home studio here at the ritual!! There is such a beautiful blend of awareness, tradition and the benefits of modern yoga all intertwined together here. It is nothing like the other hot yoga studios that I have tried. I signed up for a membership after the month trial because of how much I loved the classes :) Especially Nick omg!! He brings so much awareness into his class and is truly one of the best teachers Ive had. I love Natalie and Andreas classes as well. I am two months in and so happy with this studio! read more

This yoga studio is such a blessing, I've laughed and cried (don't worry the good cleansing cry) at this place. I love that there are no mirrors and the lights are generally turned down low through out class so you can really dive in to your practice and body without judgment. Whether you are a beginner or well traveled yogi you will love this place! Corinas classes are always such a joy. I found this yoga studio through ClassPass. I absolutely love the aesthetic here and that they do fun classes like the Bad Bunny Free Flow. The first class I did was the gently heated guided flow- I happen to be in the area and wanted to get a workout in. The class was excellent and I liked that it wasn't too hot (85 degrees). The amenities are gorgeous! They have several lockers, one shower, one bathroom- lotions, deodorant etc (pictures not shown). The second class I did was the Bad Bunny Free Flow. It was super fun and we were given a lot of creative freedom in the class. There was also a dance party during class (obviously it's Bad Bunny). This studio is gorgeous. I live about 30/40 minutes away but my goal is to come take a class here at least once a month. Instructors and front desk staff are friendly and inviting. I can't wait to do some shopping the boutique- they have a wider variety of athletic wear brand. *Pro tip* If you are not a member and you want to use towels (yoga towel or shower towel) they will charge you so bring your own towel. read more

My favorite yoga place, period. I'm so glad that I tried the Ritual on ClassPass and after the first class I'm absolutely hooked. I'm now on their unlimited membership and I go around 5-6 times a week. My favorite class is the sculpt ritual with Julia every Saturday. It's the only class I took that requires weights (optional really). It's challenging but not too hard that you can't push all the way through. I always have a good sweat after the class and ready to eat everything and anything I want without worrying too much calories lol Other classes are amazing too and everyone I've met in the studio is extremely friendly and helpful. I also like that they always come up with new classes and events such as puppy yoga (working with local shelters), Mother's Day hand massages and free classes and etc. Overall I'm just so blessed and grateful to find such a place not only fulfill my health and fitness needs but also make me feel good and accomplished. I have been a supporter of the wonderful founders for over 4 years! They have literally made a yogi out of me, and helped me find my "happy place "! Amazing space, fantastic instructors as well as a positive community of likeminded individuals. By not having mirrors, I found myself learning to go with the flow and find my "yoga rhythm" if you will. Whether you're new to yoga, experienced, younger or older... there's something for everyone! Also it's worth mentioning that on top of everything, The Ritual yoga studio is very clean and sanitary environment. Do I have anything negative to say about this place? Well personally I think some of the apparel is a little over priced, but that's most upscale yoga prices anyways. Also they respect military veterans! I absolutely love this studio. The deep stretching in the Yin Ritual is so therapeutic. Tee steadily guides the group, suggesting corrections and adjustments along the way. Pilates with Andrea is challenging but scalable. Slow Flow Ritual with Doug is energizing with its alternating intensity and calm, but focused progression through the movements. The girls at the front desk are friendly and helpful. They've made a concerted effort to remember my name once they started recognizing me after checking in for a few classes, which feels welcoming. The studio is compact, but meticulously clean and well laid out. I would be hard pressed to find a negative, but if anything, I wish there were more "gently heated" classes offered and perhaps a few early morning (6am-ish) classes during the week so one could fit them in before a work day. Maybe this has been offered in the past and wasn't well attended (?), but I would literally go 6 days a week if this was an option. read more

I consider myself to be moderately athletic as I've been working out since college (am 34 now). I've done all the traditional workouts including crossfit, f45, orange theory fitness, wunderbar, and Lagree pilates but nothing compares to the workout that I get at the Ritual. Being that I'm a semi-pro Beer League ice hockey player, I've found that the mobility I've gained in the classes I've taken has been immeasurable! I skate faster and my core is stronger which leads to significantly less injuries! While I'm far from being an avid Yogi, I can see that I'm slowly progrssing towards that with each and every class I take. All in all, if you're an athlete with any type of historical injuries (like me with several bulged disc's), you cannot go wrong with The Ritual! read more

First time guided hot yoga with Natalie B and it blew my mind and pushed my body to its limits. It was everything I wanted and just what I needed. It was all in the dark and I could go at my own pace even if I couldn't make out all the moves no one seemed to notice but Natalie did assist me to reach my leg - so yeah it was a great class from my point of view.. Definitely bring a lot of water and hydrate the day before if you're usually faint or you know everyone's always telling you to drink water. read more

Just took my free class, and the class is as great. The infrared heating is probably the best in Westlake. It gets hot without the humidity, and they're able to cool it down really quickly. One of the girls at the front desk walked in the men's locker room when I was in there. She said hi and walked out. After my class, I talked to her and told her how some people might find a woman in the men's locker room uncomfortable. She then told me that she was just in there to get a roll of toilet paper.
