I lived in Hawaii my whole life and never went to Pro-Am until last week. The place is bigger than I thought and there is a good variety of clubs, accessories and especially bags. The bags were very comparable in prices to other shops. They sometimes discount ProV1 for the older models which is a good deal (almost $10 off). I ended up purchasing a bag and some balls. They even have the mini drivers if you are interested. I will definitely stop by more often. read more

I was looking to get a golf push cart and got amazing service from Pro-AM Golf Shops Instagram guy Sean. He was super helpful answering all my questions about pricing, size and quality. Sean even sent me photos of the push carts folded and unfolded so I could get a sense of the size. They had a pretty good selection of push carts and the customer service and sale was all I needed to head down and make a purchase from them. Sometimes its very easy and casual to get questions answered on social media and I was very happy and surprised that Pro-AM Golf Shop had an active presence on Instagram to answer my questions. Went in to inquire about reshafting my irons and the 2 ladies (one is Tomiko, sorry don't know the other lady's name) in the shop we're very friendly and helpful. So is Sean who is the technician who does reshafting and grip replacement. He patiently helped me pick out the correct type of shafts that fit me. And the reshafting was done within a few hours and he saved the grips on the clubs too (saved me $$ so I don't need to buy new grips). In addition, I found a brand new Callaway Ai Smoke 9 wood at a very reasonable price - cheaper than R. Dunn store. And, Sean installed the new grip on right away. All in all, their customer service was par excellence! I am going back for all my golfing needs from now on. Too bad R. Dunn . Customer service do matter!!! One of the last small golf shops around. Korean owned and great service. They sell a lot of older model clubs so if you're looking for a set at a lower cost that is not the most recent model this is your place. They have a lot of sales on clubs so I'd definitely check this place out before going to Rodger Dunn. They used to have dogs walking around which was cute. Not golf related just cute. read more

Steve is really good at helping you find the right clubs. He is very patient and good at getting to know you and has a feel for what to recommend. No fancy launch monitor here but good old fashioned one on one customer service. Pricing is better than what you can find online. And you really shouldn't be buying clubs online because you want to hold and swing clubs because that's the best way to see if a certain club will work for you. read more

Great customer service and value. Needed a walking bag picked up a bag for a price comparable to the mainland (and no extra charge for shipping). Just got back into golfing and surprised to still see the same sales people at the golf store after 12 years of being out of golfing. But sorry to say they are not the friendly type of sales people. they are up in age and seem less incline to help you. I've been going to Pro-Am Golf shop for at 30 years or so. They pretty much have everything...clubs, balls, shoes, gadgets, covers, clothes, and even a swing room. They even do grip repair. Lots of locals but also mainland US mainland, Japanese, Korean, Chinese Australian, Kiwis, and more. Definitely not a high sales pressure kind of place, so ask them for help if you need it...they know their stuff. It's good they have parking and it's right next to McKinley Carwash, so I usually pop into the store to after my car is do washed. read more

I walked around shop looking around at clubs and gloves for 15 minutes, with only 1 customer in the shop besides me! Not 1 person acknowledged me or asked me for help?! I had to ask to try a club and when the sales guy took me to the hitting bay, I hit a few balls. I said, "Trackman is not on?". And he just said no it's not. Then he asks if I am going to buy the club?!!! WTF???!!!! Why would I buy something without knowing if I was getting good numbers?!! I bought a glove, but I am never shopping here ever again. The older woman that works here is so rude and condescending. She ignores questions unless asked repeatedly and then gives one word answers when asked about inventory. My husband has gotten pretty serious about his golf game within the past year. He, like most golfers likes to peruse golf stores for hours on end, and lucky me...I get to come along. I figured Pro am would not surprise me and that I should just make sure my phone was fully charged before we headed over. Boy, was I WRONG! Pro-Am is what every golf store should strive to be. The employees are friendly, helpful and not pushy in any way! The man who really sealed the deal for us was Mr. Danno! We first met Danno when he helped my husband change the grips on his clubs. The turn over time and the price was cheaper and faster than any other place on the island! Danno made sure that my husband was fully satisfied with his work before charging us out. Every time we go in, he helps my husband improve his game just a little bit more by matching him with the right tools to get the job done! As far as products, it seems as if they stock a little bit of everything. They have a room dedicated to collectables, they have golf bags of all shapes/sizes/colors and they have a wide range of golf clubs/shoes/gloves etc. There is an area in the back where you can test the clubs. If you need any help or suggestions finding anything, do not hesitate to ask! They will direct you to what is best for YOUR game! The crown jewel of this shop is truly their customer service. My husband and I --- YES ME! Not just my husband! truly enjoy coming here and always leave with a smile on our face! If you are remotely interested in the game of golf, make your way down to Pro Am! We highly recommend them and we're sure you will too once you leave! -------Side note--- I absolutely adore that this little mom and pop golf shop has kitschy little dog statues every where! Visited Pro-Am to get my driver head reshafted and was helped above and beyond the normal standard by Uncle Nathan and Aunty Yuko. Being a novice player I had no idea what I needed or what was best for me, but they were very accommodating helping me every step of the way; even brought me to the SIM set up to help me improve my swing. Got my irons re-gripped here and they turned it next day. TM grips were $6.95 a pop and installation $2.50. The small store front actually has quite a bit of square footage and packs a lot of inventory. Prices seemed a tad higher than Dunn down the street, but they did have a few deals, particularly on accessories. Gripping was quoted as same day or next day, and it was next day. I stopped by today and see the same employees working there, and sometimes, actually most of the time when they are slow, they are just walking around. This visit, I asked one of the staff, the very Japanese man, what a particular item was for. He gave me the run around having no clue what it was or what it was suppose to be for. Management, make sure your staff know what the hell they are selling. I might not be as kind and understanding the next time around, if and when I return. I'm new to golf, this is the third golf shop I've been to. The first golf shop I went into gave me bad service, the second gave no service. I guess the third time's the charm, because I walked out of Pro-Am today with my first set of golf clubs :) I was helped by Danno; he was very helpful, informative, and patient. Not once did I feel rushed or pressured to make a purchase. I felt my time and business was sincerely appreciated. I highly recommend seeing Danno @ Pro-Am, and week be back again. Great experience today buying a new driver. Dano made sure I was buying the right product, and helped me make the most out of what I bought. Helped me adjust the driver to the right loft, too. Overall, I felt as though they wanted and appreciated my business; any locale that does that will have me as a repeat customer. Great golf shop in the Honolulu area. Not really meant for beginners as most of the irons set are on the high side. They have plenty of golf accessories. I really liked their selection of golf bags, both branded and generic. Staff was very friendly, greeted us and explained to me the different styles of bags they had and material. Noticed that this place is geared for Japanese golfers. Plenty of Japanese tourist inside. Plenty of parking available and the store is well kept. It is also air conditioned which is nice. I was considering getting a new driver and when a national sale was announced by Nike, went to check out the local shops to test out the Nike Covert driver. Went to Sports Authority, two locations of Roger Dunn, and Pro-Am Golf. Customer service was nonexistent at SA (could not find a clerk to help me). At both RD locations the clerks just stood around until you walked up to them to ask for help. Felt like you were bothering them. Anyway, at Pro-Am the people there provided excellent service, answered all my questions, let me hit into the net, etc. Granted the store was pretty empty, but the other golf shops weren't that busy either. Ended up buying the club which was $10 cheaper than the nationally advertised sales price at the other locations. Very pleased with the service and price that I got. Thank you. read more

i'm a Big fan of golf, i like going to different golf shop to look at different product of golf. this place sure has some products that i like plus they sell used clubs.some of the golf items were cheaper then roger dunn which is big company. i like the service the owner provided. he was very friendly and explaining everything to my girlfriend about women's golf club to shoes. there is golf club testing area in the back with the net where you get to test some club if you want to. it didn't really seem like it was open to public like roger dunn. i like this place for being friendly customer service and felt like mom and pop store of golf shop. i would go back to see items to see if they go on sale. if you are new to golf i wouldn't really recommend this place because everything is little bit more advance player style. it's not cheap but they have good product. read more
