Found them on Thumbtack and now I'm questioning the quality of the vetting process they use. Had a 10-12 appt window. No one called or showed up. I called them several times and was promised a call back and each time after waiting 15-30 mins for a call back, I had to call them. Finally gave up. Almost two hours later, someone called me (after I complained to Thumbtack...coincidence?) stating the tech would arrive in 30 mins; 1:53 minutes pass my two hour appointment window. No thanks. Our service technician was great. He came out the same day. Unfortunately the part had to be ordered, so the repair was done 3 days later. The ONLY thing I would say that took me by surprise is that they charge $425 for repairs, plus the cost of the part(s). My 5 year old freezer started malfunctioning and needed to get it looked at. I reached out to them and they were able to come to my house the following day. I was told there was a service call fee which will go towards repair, and that the technician will call me when they are 30 minutes out. I didn't get a call until the technician was outside. The technician apologized as his English was not very good, but enough for me to comprehend what he was saying. He checked the temperature of both refrigerator and freezer and didn't find anything wrong, but I mentioned to him that when you push the back of the freezer panels, it sounds like there's ice accumulation. Lo and behold, there was and he explained that the thermostat had to be changed - for $360. I'm not really sure if this was a reasonable price or not, but I didn't want to look for any other repair company, so went ahead with the repair. He was done within an hour and was very courteous and respectful of my property. read more

We booked a time for the tech to come, but tech did not show up or call as promised. We reached out through the yelp messenger and were told there was a delay at the previous job and were asked if the tech could come 2 hours later than originally planned. We said yes. Then the same thing happened again. This time it was traffic. The person on the other end of yelp messenger asked if we could reschedule for the next day. We said yes, and no surprise, the same thing happened again. This time, no explanation for why. However, not once did the tech call to let us know they were delayed or not able to come. After 3 tries we decided it was not worth trying again and we went with another company for the repair. Too bad. This was purely a communication issue. Don't book a slot if you cannot fulfill and communicate with your customers about the status. read more

I am always a little skeptical when it comes to finding repair companies without the benefit of a personal recommendation from friends, but we were in a bind and needed our Thermador freezer fixed as quickly as possible due to food spoilage and no ability to make ice. I found Pro Appliance Repair doing a Google search. They were able to send a repair technician to us the very next evening (on a Sunday, no less). Our repair technician was Vadim. He was very professional, and texted me to let me know when he was on his way and he stayed in contact with us throughout the process. Our freezer needed a part that had to be ordered, so our repair was done in stages. Vadim was thorough and took special care pulling out the freezer drawer (we have integrated appliances that have cabinet fascias, which can be damaged when not handled with care). Also, and this is a big one, Vadim was on time!!! This is a big one for me. On the one occasion when he was running late, he texted me to tell me how many minutes he would be until his arrival. He was meticulous and very professional. He did a good job explaining what was defective with the freezer and what the fix was. Also, communication with the Pro Appliance Repair office was excellent. The person who answers the phone barley speaks English. She makes appointments and no one shows up. I paid 100 to order the parts and was told 5 days they will be back out to fix it. No one called. I called them and the same non English speaking person answered the phone and made an appointment for the next business day. No one showed, no one called. I called them back and was told part not in. The service men were good and it's a shame that this is who they have as a point of contact person she can't communicate and doesn't understand what you're saying. Alex, the technician, arrived for same-day service to address a refrigerator that was tripping a circuit breaker. He was knowledgeable, diligent, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. Diagnostic fee was less than other companies with whom I spoke, and the fee was later included in the overall service charge. The guy came out in his own car, not a company car/ truck. I showed him where the dryer was and he asked me how long I had the dryer. And I told him about a couple of years ago, which it's fairly new. He tells me that it's the fuse, and it's going to be $265.0, and he would only take a check or Zelle. Most companies have a credit card machine on their phone. He also tells me that my dryer vents is dirty and that I can't use my dryer until I call someone to come and clean it. Why couldn't he do that. Then he tells me that if I don't have somebody clean the dryer vent then my dryer system is going to break down. I'm not a fan of being reprimanded, or threatened by the appliance guy. W who wasn't very friendly no people skills. Did he fix it? My experience with this firm was very unsatisfactory. I explained my problem and asked that I be notified of the charges so I could pay. This work was to be done at my Son and Daughter-in-law's house. The repairman appeared to be very uninformed about making repairs to a grill.
