I've been a loyal customer of Pep Boys for years, but after my last experience, I'll never set foot…read morein any of their shops again. My car began to malfunction, and trusting them, I brought it in. Before I even reached the counter, I overheard someone from the garage scream, "Here comes an opportunity." Red Flag. Once the diagnostic was done, I was told repairs would cost upwards of $10,000. I'm no mechanic, but I know manipulation when I see it. I asked for a print off of the required repairs and was told that "they don't do that". Feeling uneasy, I sought a second opinion. In the end, the repairs cost me $200. All I needed was a couple of hoses, and some spark plugs. It was crystal clear that Pep Boys was trying to take advantage of me. What's worse, I overheard a manager berating an employee for not "getting more" out of a customer. They didn't think I heard, but I did. On top of that, I was told by someone else that while they visited the shop they overheard a district manager discussing with their team how desperately they need to repair their customer relationships because so many people are coming forward about being swindled too. I'm sharing this to warn anyone considering Pep Boys, do not trust them. There are honest auto repair professionals out there. The people at Pep Boys, however are nothing but crooks. They do brakes and oil changes. That's it. They aren't mechanics. I learned from a former employee of theirs that the reason they charge so much for repairs that because they outsource the work to actual mechanics, then overcharge so they can get their profit. Let my experience be your cautionary tale. Don't trust them.

I took my car in for a schelduled oil change this morning. After my oil was change, they drove my…read morecar to the front of the store as usual for the customer. As I walked to the front of my car, I got down on one knee to ensure they had replaced all of my trim clips on my splash guard.( I did this because in time past they were not all replaced) As I bent over, I noticed oil pouring out from around my splash guard. I jumped up and ran to cut the car off. One of the techs looked over and asked, whats wrong? I told him my car is pouring oil out. Andrew was inside the building looking out, so I went in and explained to him what the problem was. At this time one of the techs got in the car and was going to start it to take it back in the shop, and the other tech yells at him. "Dont start that car up". Andrew went outside and had a dicussion with them and they pushed in back into the shop. Later he, andrew, came to me very apologetic and professional saying the oil filter was not tighten properly. I was frustrated, and dissapointed in what had just happened. I simply said, this could've been very bad if I had not looked under my car and drove off. He agreed and still apologetic. I told him its not your fault and I know you want things here done right. I hope this will serve to them as a learning tool to pay attention to detail. I will continue to take my car there because I trust them, however, I will contine to be very observant of what they are doing and check to see that job is done correctly. In all honesty, I should'nt have to.

I brought my new 2022 truck in to have a simple repair done on the tire which had a slow leak. When they were done, my tire sensor was broken and the tire WAS NOT FIXED. I drove to Florida and little did I know my tire still had a hole in it because this pathetic bunch of losers were too STUPID to even have the ability to repair a tire. If you don't believe me, look at the pics. That is what was left of my sensor and what an official Nissan dealership had to say about these liars. Their regional manager is aptly named Dan TOOLE and that is exactly what he is. He is a grifter and a liar stating that my sensor "blew apart" when it went flat. I told him, it was a slow leak, IT NEVER WENT FLAT!! It was never flat because I kept it full until I got to you cannibals. Then they passed me on to "corporate" who then passed me back to the TOOLE who crapped all over me again stating that they had video showing t was broken, YEAH BROKEN BECAUSE YOUR TECHNICIAN BROKE IT! This idiot even tried to blame me for it saying I must have hit a pot hole! Can you believe these guys???? So if you want your car broken, have them blame you for them breaking it and then you pay for all their screw ups then by al means go to these guys. They will fix you right up. And Frank the phony manager, don't bother answering this with your lame canned responses because I don't believe a word of it and I will see you in small claims. Just ask yourself was jacking my truck up and lying to my face worth the $98?

I really like them having cameras in the repair shop and a monitor in the eating room so you can see the progress on your vehicle without going into the shop.

At 10:30 I get a call and someone tell me to bring it in sooner if I want it done today. Rescheduled with the friend who is taking time out of her busy life to help me and brought it in at 11am. Well close to 3pm I call to check the status and they have not even looked at it. At 4:10 I get a call it's ready and we drive over. No conversation about the car as I'm paying the bill. It was just over a hundred. ($110) I'm like, "Why was it so cheap"? He mumbles something about the guy didn't know how to fix it. They didn't fix my car, just took 5 hours to do an expensive incidental oil change. Then I get into the car and theres 2 big grease marks on the ceiling and the seats are changed the odometer is up and the AC is blasting. So unless you have a ton of time and money to waste go somewhere else. Remarkably inconsiderate. They could of said upfront they don't do those kind of repairs and probably would have if I didn't throw in an oil change. An oil change I could do a couple shops down in 10 minutes. Now I have to ask once again for help from a friend and nuke yet another day.
