On January 20th I took my sports car to Tire Discounters to have a flat tire repaired. After a…read morethorough inspection I was told that the tire had been damaged by a three inch screw in the sidewall and could not be repaired. Also that it is recommended that all four tires be replaced since I drive a high performance vehicle. I was given a quote and informed that the tires would have to be ordered. The manager, Eric said that the car would be ready the next day. At 5:30pm on the 21st (the next day) I had not yet received a text or phone call stating that my car was ready. I called Tire Discounters and I was told that the technician was having difficulties mounting the low profile tires, but that the car would be ready that evening. When we arrived it was raining and the technician was "trying to clean my car up" according to Eric. It was very dark in the parking lot so it was impossible to determine what was being "cleaned up". I paid $2,997 for four low profile tires, installation and balancing. Because we had an out of town engagement we left the next morning without inspecting the car. When we arrived at home four days later and pulled the car out of the garage we found that it had mustard yellow "mounting paste" all over the driver side door, window, door handle, front quarter panel, rear quarter panel and driver's window. When I opened the door there was the same mustard yellow putty on the leather seats, the steering wheel, the console and the hand stitched leather dash board on the driver's side. I was furious. I immediately washed my car. Note: the car sits four inches off the ground and cannot be run through an automated car wash. Simple car wash detergent would not remove the putty. I washed the car again. In total I had to wash the car four times and pay to have it detailed before I got all of the putty off. I called Tire Discounters to speak to Eric and was told that he was with a customer. He did not return my call. Upon finalizing my bill for the tires, I was given a certificate for $109 off an oil change. Today (3/20) I drove to Tire Discounters to schedule said oil change and give Eric a piece of my mind. When I walked in he was at the counter with another customer, they both had their backs to the door. My arrival was not acknowledged. Two other customers arrived. They too were not acknowledged. The customer at the counter got upset and began to sob. He then took out his phone and started showing Eric photos of a pretty, young bride on her wedding day. The man cried harder. At that point I had been waiting 20 minutes. I walked out and drove home. I am not heartless or calloused, there is a time and place for everything. , There are too many places in Huntsville to get your oil changed; to have to wait for personal drama to unfold. As I drove past the front door, Eric and the distraught man came out of the showroom and walked to the north side of the building. As far as I know the other waiting customers could still be standing there. One of the other oil change shops will get my business.

So as soon as we got off work we went to the place she bought her battery to get a diagnostic reading which stated "bad charging system". Luckily, we were next door to Tire Discounters so we rushed over to see if they could replace her alternator that night because she lives almost an hour from this area and didn't feel confident she'd make it home. We walk in with a new alternator and ask if they can replace it. One guy said they could replace it but it wouldnt be tonight since it was about 5:15 and they close at 6pm. We understood but felt so defeated. I asked if they thought she'd make it to Scottsboro with a bad alternator and one guy said not likely. the other guy, Jacob, said he would go check her output to see what the reading was to help gauge whether or not she should attempt the long commute. once Jacob got the reading he began looking for her alternator to see how hard it would be to get to. After he assessed everything he said he wanted to go ask the other guy a question real quick so we followed him inside. After Jacob spoke to the other guy, he came to the counter and said he was going to put the new one on and said it will be done around 6pm. Jacob went above and beyond to make sure my friend made it back home that night. He was kind, courteous, and fast. Jacob didn't have to do what he did, especially being as close to closing time as it was, but he took great care of us! GO SEE JACOB!

Came in for a second opinion diagnostic, my car had been intermittently not starting…read more (I had been here before on July 4th and they saved my life and helped get my family on the road quick so we didn't miss family festivities out of town) Turned out I needed my alternator replaced on top of a new battery. Pricing was insanely competitive, and Chris even worked his magic to knock some extra off, because having your alternator go out on a Wednesday isn't fun for anyone's bank account in this economy. They pushed to get my car done quickly so I could pick my son up on time from school- and even had a mechanic pause his work to drive me up the road to my house so I could eat and get our second vehicle in case they ran over with the repair. These men never once made me feel like a burden and helped me with a smile, explained pricing to me in a way that felt educational, every employee was kind and generous in going above and beyond to have my car repaired and me as a customer and person taken care of. The guy ran a free test on the random check engine light anyway. The result indicated that the light sensor might be faulty. He reset it and said it probably would turn on again. Until then I didn't know a full service shop was behind it. Eventually the brake lights stayed on to run down the battery even when disconnected, so a family member followed me there. Just a few blocks away but all or none for brake lights worried me in heavy traffic. They were booked full that afternoon but checked it out before closing. It was an electrical/mechanical problem rather than a sensor plus it needed a new battery. I picked it up about noon the next day. Very happy with the price, tech service and quick turnaround with no appointment. The yellow check engine light still randomly turns on despite their advice on simple possible causes but it runs well without spending a fortune on troubleshooting. (Don't ignore that light if it's red.) My son took our Kia to another place (where he has a credit card from buying tires) when the check engine light was yellow and it sounded ill. He needs to use it for work so he called every day. They kept it for 3 more days before testing. Then they said the test equipment wasn't working! Really? He lost about a week of work!

I take my Jeep here for oil and tire service and they always do a great job. I took it in and they verified the broken connection. The fix is a part from Doorman: part 14055. The local parts store sells it for $16.99. When the plastic part was replaced - about two hours after they started working on it - the bill came to just under $120. They charged me $29.99 for that $16.99 part... Upcharge was almost x2. I am an app user and had a coupon for $15.00 off any service other than an oil change. The manager denied my using that coupon - did everything short of calling me a liar stating the coupon - that came from their app - wasn't from their app. My history with this company is over. The replacement of this part takes less than 10 minutes: look it up on YouTube... The despicable upcharge is ridiculous. I'm all about a business making a profit but not an almost double the price of the replacement part to a loyal customer. Done. Adios. Chow. Hasta la vista, baby!
