I cannot thank Andres enough for the work he did with my German Shepherd, Keller.  I got her through a rescue program at nine months old, so I didn't really know the kind of temperament I was getting. She was as sweet as can be with people, but it quickly became apparent that she could not stand other dogs.  Whenever we would see another dog Keller would alternate between two reactions: lunge, snarl, and bark at the other dog, or whine incessantly and jump up on me as a cry for help. Her chaotic behavior on walks resulted in a few injuries on my part. She sprained my jaw from jumping up, she would give me bruises, and I hurt my back a few times from her tugging on the leash.  As she grew bigger and stronger it reached the point where I no longer felt comfortable going out with her. This turned into a terrible cycle: Her misbehavior caused me to give up on walks, so she became increasingly restless around the house, but I couldn't take her out to exercise, so her behavior got worse. She was absolutely miserable whining and barking at the slightest noise at the doors or windows, never calming down. We tried other dog trainers previously. Our first place gave her basic obedience training but said she could not be helped and that we had no choice but to keep her separated from other dogs for her whole life.  The second guy said he's seen cases like Keller get better but he only did group training sessions so it wasn't safe for her to join. The third man we used was very nice, genuinely cared, and spent several months taking us on weekly walks and providing methods to manage her when we saw other dogs. After all that Keller still tried to take a chomp out of his personal dog, and at that point he admitted he didn't know how to get through to her and refunded us our money. I found Andres and the Pro Canine Center through an internet search looking for trainers who specialized in German Shepherds.  I told Andres just how bad Keller was, and he still agreed to evaluate her. After watching her for just a few minutes Andres explained to me that there are different types of aggression in dogs, each needing their own methods to manage and correct.  In that 30-minute consultation he taught me more about WHY my dog behaves the way she does than I learned from the previous year and a half of books, trainers, and internet gurus. Within 6 months of using Andres' methods I could confidently take Keller out and fully manage her aggression. I cannot express how much happier we both are. I have a Golden Retriever, Daisy, that we brought home as an eight-week old puppy.  I took Daisy to "puppy kindergarten" and continued afterwards with in-home training.  We practiced everything we were told to do with commands and rewards. Her behavior was sporadic and inconsistent.  While on walks she would stop and not want to move forward so I would have to go back home. I became very frustrated because I had spent so much time and money with no concrete results.  At 11 months old I took her to Andres for an evaluation and learned that she was "in fear" and showed signs of assertiveness. I signed her up for his basic program. I was nervous because I did not want Daisy to lose her personality and sweetness but I did want consistent good behavior.  Julianne became Daisy's trainer and I cannot say enough about her and the training program at Procanine. THE RESULTS ARE AMAZING!!! Julianne understood my expectations and overdelivered! She is firm in her training. She not only trains the dogs but also teaches the owners their role in their dogs training and how important it is to be on the same page.  Daisy would get so excited to see her at drop-off which helped me learn how much dogs like structure/consistency from their owners. I then decided I wanted Julianne to train Daisy to learn off-lease behavior so signed her up for the advanced training which she just completed. It's amazing to be able to hike with your dog, off leash, and feel confident your dog will listen and be safe.  We can have her in our front yard and know she will not run off property even with distractions. Julianne gave us a dog that is still so sweet but now listens and is well behaved. This was one of the best investments I have ever made. I adopted my bernese mountain dog poodle mix (bernedoodle) at 9 month old. She had some bad habits that were really hard to break such as jumping and rushing anyone who walks in the door. When I heard about the stay and learn day program, I wanted to sign up then and there but from what I have seen with other training facilities, these types of programs cost a fortune. I was pleasantly suprised when I found this was actually affordable. Julianne is very knowledgeable, knows what she is doing, does it extremely well and loves it. Julianne and Noodle (my fur-baby) got along marvelously. Jules taught Noodle, as well as myself how to do a few commads, ie. sit, come, down, off etc. As well as learning to be consistent, how to correct, and when to correct. Julianne takes the time to explain, show you by example, and give you a try so you're comfortable. I've never felt rushed with my endless questions of "am I doing this right?", "what if xyz happens", "can you re-explain that, I don't get it." Julianne is very professional and very fast to respond and would recommend to anyone looking for a phenomenal dog trainer. So the results are amazing. My fur-baby rarely jumps now. Even when she does get to excited when you tell her "off" she immediately backs away and sits down. She would love to rush the door, and you can tell by how her body vibrates when someone comes through that door, but she will stay in her place and wait until she is called. read more

Thank you Andres Julianne and the entire staff at Pro Canine Center. I am very happy with my one year old male chocolate lab I named Henry. I bought Henry in August 2018. Henry came home in December 2018. I am a brain tumor survivor. I underwent multiple brain surgeries. I suffer pain PTSD and brain injury symptoms. I needed help. I tried everything. Nothing worked. I wanted a dog. I spoke with Andre and he agreed to help me. I wasn't sure I could handle a dog. I visited other kennels but decided I couldn't handle those dogs. My experience with Andres and everyone at Procanine has been phenomenal! Not only are they a great team that trains puppies from the ground up, they are a tremendous help with older dogs troubleshooting issues with behavior that may range from small nuisances to dangerous situations. I first went there with an older german shepherd puppy with a dangerous aggression issue. They did a fantastic job with her for which I am forever grateful. I was so impressed with the work they were doing there that I purchased an older, trained protection dog from them who they paired with my female. I cannot say enough about the care and skill that went into the training and selection process. I have now brought multiple puppies there to train. They not only do a great job training the dogs but take an enormous amount of time to train the owners in proper handling of their dogs. They became not only the people I brought my dogs to, they have become my friends and I feel like family. We absolutely love Pro Canine Center. We signed up our 8 month old Wolf Hybrid earlier this year. When we came to Pro Canine, our dog /Hybrid (Dakota) was skiddish, fearful, submissive and mouthy. We were worried about him being around our children and even in our home. Andres was very professional and knowledgeable about Hybrids and paired us with Master trainer Julianne. Julianne has been wonderful and very supportive of our family and our individual / unique needs. We have seen great improvements in Dakota and we are so happy and thankful for their assistance. He is completing on-leash obedience and confidence training. Dakota is less skiddish, much more obedient and less mouthy. We are now working with Dakota 4 times a week under the expertise of Julianne and we are very impressed by his progress and we are so happy with the outcome so far. Andre and his staff are absolutely amazing all around. They go the extra mile to care for a save dogs that tiger trainers would have put to sleep and called "lost causes". Dogs that are dangerous to themselves or people, come out happy and well mannered after his board and train program. I was STRUGGLING with my two pit bulls one was extremely leash reactive (think the dog that screams and cries and acts a fool on leash when he sees another dog) and my other one was fear aggressive (think the dog that bites you because she is scared). Both my dogs now have excellent obedience, are pleasures to walk and Andre showed me how to handle them in a way that makes them happy and me more confident. I loved his work so much that I decided to take his master trainer course in which he shows me how to bring the next level of training I gotta with them. I've apprenticed under a few other trainers but andres work and methods and very clear and effective. I'm so excited to learn absolutely everything he can teach, and nothing warms my heart more than knowing the dogs he's working with are having their lives SAVED with the training he's doing!! read more

Andres Aportela is the ultimate professional in his craft as a dog trainer/breeder and is extremely knowledgeable. He is truly authentic and has his client's best interest at heart. I acquired one of his personal German Shepherds "MAI". A sweetheart of a K9. She came fully trained in obedience (on/off leash) and in personal protection. From the moment we met it was a match made in heaven. Mai being a 5 year old Shepherd I was a bit weary but she was so sweet, well trained and full of life I decided to take her home. I've had her here for a few weeks now and I do not regret the decision at all. Andres put in a lot of work and training into her and that made this decision easy. She's great with kids, other pets and people. She's really sociable which was very important to me and has really become attached to me. You never realize how much training goes into one of these gorgeous German Shepherds. We had a behavior problem with one of our dogs that only Andres and the staff at Pro Canine Center were willing tackle. Pro Canine Center were referred to us by three separate creditable individuals in the pet world and they did not disappoint. The flat fee based training seemed a bit steep at first but he said that he would not put a time limit on training our dog and he was always their to support us. The training progressed based on our dog's pace, not theirs. After 6 months of training, our dog is very obedient, a much more confident dog and we now have the means, through their training, to control him during stressful situations. Every dog is different and each requires individual training plan and they are tops at figuring out what works for each individual dog. The training also included training the family to be consistent with the appropriate commands at appropriate time. Now we can enjoy our dog and we look forward to maybe competing him AKC obedience, he's that good! He's such a happier dog overall. I can't thank Pro Canine Center enough for helping us. read more

I'm attending a 4 years master trainers course with Andres and I can't say how wonderful the learning experience has been. I had been doing dog training professionally for over 5 years before meeting Andres, and after taking his course and learning with him, I can't believe the difference in my training results, knowledge, etc. I went to a lot of mentor programs, shadow programs, schools. "Certification courses" and after taking the schooling with Andres, no one compared to what I have learned here. No where else will you receive dog training And schooling like you do here ! My dog is titled in BH now, I have a nicely trained personal Protection dog, solid obedience anywhere! And I'm competing for IPO in the fall! Andres and his facility are top notch. I have gotten 2 German Shepherds from him and trained them both at his facility. We've done it all. My first dog we trained in obedience and then went on to train to be a service dog for my Mother. My other dog has trained in obedience, protection and is now doing tracking. Ignore the cute photos on their website. The price for an individual beginner training was 1.5K. After a few sessions of 10-15 minutes the dog graduated to the next level for even a steeper price. Andres is a crook masquerading as an excellent trainer. Her surprisingly knows very little beyond the basics, and his methods are cruel. Avoid this place, or you will be taken as well! read more
