We needed carpet and hardwood installed promptly and Mike seemed like a great option. However, many problems came up while and after the flooring was installed. Mike didn't answer us when we needed him most. He wasn't very punctual in answering our texts, and finished the job a week later than the due date, partially because his workers chunked all of the walls up installing the wood floor. The top piece of wood dividing the carpet and wood floor was missing and when we asked to have it replaced he blamed it on us "you must have kicked it off". When Mike said his company was making progress, he was just taking advantage of us. Since he knew we weren't at the house much, he did minimal work on some days. We looked at the house two days in a row and realized his guys didn't even come one day! How unprofessional. We then had to hire a painter to fix all of the chunks Mikes company had made. Broken beer bottles and bottles of water were littered on the floor most days. We're never using Mike or his company again. read more

We are thrilled with the workmanship that went into nstalling our new vinyl wood floors and baseboards. Mike came to our home and took measurements, then showed us samples of flooring. He has a great app on his phone that is able to show you exactly what the flooring will look like in your home. I hired this company to install engineered hardwood floors and tile in the bathrooms and laundry room. They also installed baseboard trim though out my newly purchased home. I met with Mike agreed to the price and the timeframe for installation. So i was originally thinking that this was a great company. When i was originally looking for quotes i called up a few different places along with this spot. mike called me back seemed really nice, asked me if he could come over that saturday to give me a quote. i told him that i had another floor spot that was going to be coming over, but i'd let him know a time. On saturday he called up at 10 and said he was on his way over. my appt with the other floor people was between 9-11am and they weren't there yet. So Mike just came on over. He was telling me how the other flooring places don't really know what they're doing and how he has been doing flooring his whole life, knows everything about it, etc. while he was there the other flooring person showed up (late at like 11:15am) so i turned them away, because Mike had a great sale. Made me feel like i was getting a good deal, made me feel like he knew what he was doing. etc. Only issue was that when it came to the carpet installation, it wasn't Mike that did it. Instead he sent 2 workers that didn't speak English, but seemed to know what they were doing so I left them to put down the new carpet and came back when it was done. When i got back, i noticed that there were 'bubbles' or 'lumps' in the carpet that felt like the carpet wasn't pounded down properly. Mike called the next day to ask how the carpet looked, i told him it looked great but mentioned the 'bubble' issue, he said that it's common and that throughout time from walking around on the carpet those all go away. He's the expert i believed him. So let's fast forward to about a year later- Please make note i take full responsibility that it was about a year, but to be honest time goes by, people get busy you don't really think about things because life is busy. regardless about a year goes by and i notice that there are major lumps in my carpet. along with it pulling away from the edges of the linoleum and such. I emailed Mike, because i remembered him saying that i had a warranty (i was pretty positive he said 3 years from our conversation). so i emailed him, and his response was 'do you have any pets? text me your number i will call you.' I texted him my number. he NEVER called me, i also responded that yes i had cats. He then told me that it was my cats that probably were lifting up the carpet but that "I will speak with the installation manager and see when we can have the installer stop by and re-tack it." Then on a saturday morning at 830am. i get a knock on my door. This time it's a gentleman that also barely speaks English and has a kid with him. He tells me he's there to "check carpet". I let him and his kid in, they look at the carpet, I show them the areas of where the carpet is bubbling. he looks around. tells me 'needs to stretch'. i ask him what i need to do, he tells me 'mike will talk to you'. During this time his kid is running around my house. then the kid opens the front door and my cat runs off. Such an awesome start to my morning. I then email Mike and tell him what happened with the guy- he replies to text him and he will call me, once again he never calls. he then emails me with this "The conversation I had with our guy was that the hall does need to be stretched, but the transition edges have been ruined by pets. That was my original thought from the pictures if you remember our conversation. Therefore to fix that we would need to re-stretch the entire rooms and the furniture would need to be moved. The hall would be our responsibility and no charge to you, but the work to stretch the carpet to compensate for what has been pulled and ruined would be yours." 1- the issue wasn't the hall it was the main living room 2- they would have to pull the carpet to compensate for them not tacking it down correctly the frirst time...how is that my fault again? anyways once again i asked him to contact me, he never did. So to sum things up, talks a great game, excellent salesman. But obviously doesn't really care when it all comes down to it. Attached are some photos of how the carpet is bunched, which i still don't get how it's my fault...then again he's the "flooring expert' right? -- In response to the comment that was just posted.-- ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! I have the emails verbatim. " but we still went above and beyond and sent an installer out to do the repair at no cost to her." - you sent out a guy with a kid to look at the carpet. NO REPAIRS were made and per your email you stated I would have to compensate you! "When she conveyed the fact that she still was not happy she was then contacted by our office several times and left messages so that a manager could stop by and see what we could do to help, our calls were never returned. "- i was still not happy? i wasn't happy to begin with because NO WORK had been done!!! and i will more then happily post my cell phone records showing the call log that NO CALLS FROM YOU WERE EVER MADE. We met with Mike to change the flooring in a home we are trying to sell, having many complaints about the inexpensive flooring that was installed from the previous owner. Our realtor met with him and had him give a estimate on demo and installing new carpet. Pro Floors was fabulous from my first contact with them to the completion of our job. We were moving here from out-of-state and only in town a short time for the walk-through, closing and then stayed a few days afterwards. While in town we were trying to decide on carpet and paint colors, plus line up a painter to paint the interior of our home and then the carpet to be laid, all before we moved in. Mike brought over samples to where we were staying within 24 hours of me contacting Pro Floors. He let me hang onto a few of the samples that were serious contenders so I could take them to the walk-through and see if one of them would work. As it turned out, we did love one of the carpets. The day our home closed and we were able to get in, Mike came over and measured our home for ordering the carpet. I really wanted a sample of the carpet in order to coordinate purchases in the month between the closing and us moving here, so he ordered a sample from the manufacturer to be sent to our home in CA. Mike worked with me for scheduling the carpet installation between the completion of the painting and when we were moving in. I had also requested the carpet to be laid a certain way, if at all possible. Everything was done totally without us being in town. We absolutely loved the carpet and the installation of it when we finally saw it! His installation crew did a beautiful job and, though we knew we might see some seams in our larger rooms, we can't see any of them, no matter how the light hits the carpet. The crew were also very careful with our freshly painted home. It's now been almost 6 months since we first met with Mike (yes, I've been very slow leaving this review). I can't think of anything Mike / Pro Floors could have done to make the experience any better... or the results any nicer. I have no hesitation recommending them! read more

UPDATE: The business owner recently called to harass my husband and me to remove our Yelp post over two years after it was originally posted. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Instead of writing a review, I will simply post the letter I sent to the "company" after the job was completed. As an additional note, there are already issues with the work after just two months. Mike, Enclosed you will find check number 488 for $2400, the balance of the flooring work you did at XXXXXX Drive. The delay in payment was twofold as we were waiting for the reimbursement check from the insurance company and once that arrived, we paid all vendors in the order with which their job was completed. Throughout the process of remodeling the house on XXXXXX Drive we used almost one dozen vendors. We were extremely pleased with all of our vendors with the exception of Pro Floors. The floors themselves are of good quality and were installed properly but the experience with your company was not positive. It appears that you simply sub-contract the jobs, are not present on the job site and do not have a pride of ownership in your work. We had an unexpected flood on Monday, October 15th while your crew was in the middle of completing our $13,500 flooring job. At that time, the upstairs trim had not been completed, the stairs were not finished off and the baseboards on the first floor had not been put back in place. By the time my husband arrived at the house, your crew was sitting on the lawn chairs by our pool. I still wonder what they were doing while our house was flooding. At that point, you were not able to meet with us until Thursday, October 18th to select replacement flooring and because the meeting occurred in the evening we lost a day discovering that the floor we selected was out of stock. It was disappointing that you were always able to meet promptly when it came time to collect money but not to get the job completed. Again we had to meet in the evening (your schedule) on Friday, October 19th to once again select a new floor. That timing caused us to lose the entire weekend and Monday, October 22nd because you could not check with the manufacturer until Monday morning to order the replacement floor. Meanwhile, you clearly knew the date of our move and had for quite some time...October 25th. Your response to the situation was basically that you had "completed our job" and you had "too many other jobs" and no crew for us. In other words, we were in essence moved to the back of the line. This is completely unacceptable. Vendors we had went out of their way for us (without any requests to do so). They completed extra work, were timely, efficient and clean/neat in what was to be our new home. It was a great joy to work with small, family-owned companies and support local workers. Your workers however were messy, sloppy, left trash around and damaged our walls so many times, the painting crew had to do touch ups and patching THREE times. They happily did this work, free of charge, as they could see the stress and financial strain the flood had created. You were not on the job site, so the quality control was not maintained. Due to the delays at this point caused by Pro Floors and NOT the flood, your back-up crew was still working the day we moved in to the home. There was literally dirt and debris all over the first floor when the moving trucks pulled up. We have a toddler and we were not able to get into the house to clean before our things arrived. We were able to clean the upstairs the night prior to move in after paying additional money for a sitter. Of course, the crew went upstairs and dirtied the 2nd floor anyway. I believe that you saw a financial opportunity after our initial meetings and cash exchange. We are not wealthy people and we worked very hard to save for our new home. In the end, the flood caused an additional $6500 in expenses above what we budgeted with all of our vendors. This was not your problem or your fault in any way, however your follow through and subsequent actions after the flood is why we are upset. The ten days between the flood and our move in date were extremely stressful and Pro Floors created that stress. Again, I would like to emphasize how many other vendors we used and our mutual positive experiences. They treated my new home the way I would treat it and had respect for my family and our goals throughout the remodel. I hope that you can do the same in the future for your clients. read more
