Since we are a corner lot our home is exposed on 3 sides and a lot of snow, ice and rain damage occurs. Heard decent reviews about company , needed a smaller chimney replaced on my small cape home .. 2…read moreyoung guys came over , set up scaffolding , 1 guy on roof doing the work , took about 5 hours max ... tear down chimney and erect new chimney .. After job was done was told , need new flue ... after waiting for that estimate finally received it $2500 more after paying $2800 for the chimney ... Had that company come over beforehand look at chimney never told me it needed a flue ... Also they reused old tin cap and assembly on top and now it looks bent after reinstall ! Just can't believe $2800 for 5 hours work , what do bricks and a little mortar cost ? Grant it something I can't do , only because of my age ! Understand costs of running a business and making a profit and having a couple of 25 year old kids , I expected at least a whole new tin cap and everything new ... Should have been told about flue as when the chimney was first looked at .... All I can say do homework get a few more estimates ! Will get other quotes on a flue !
