The bright side of these trips has to be the great service at DKNY. His name escapes me, but the tall-ish white guy with sandy brown hair is awesome. Even today, when there was a crazy huge mob of after Christmas shoppers, he still was helpful, polite, and even had recommendations for other stores. Another clerk spent a good 15 minutes helping me try to find shirts that fit my odd build. I'm subtracting one star because of her, most likely unintentional, offensive word choice. When commenting that small sized shirts sell quickly, she then dropped her voice and commented, "It's cuz we get a lot of Orientals in here. They tend to be small." I don't think she meant anything by it. And so what if she's never read any Edward Said? But on the other hand, the only person I know who thinks that 'Orientals' is still an appropriate descriptor, is my deceased step-father. This is the first time I've been out to a mall since the pandemic lockdown and I gotta say the bright and welcoming attitude of this adorable salesperson truly was the glittering pinnacle of my experience. In most other stores I felt like an alien being, which I already felt before walking in the door with my face covering and weird anxiety discomfort, but which each store's staff would magnify. But not at DKNY with Emily!! She was not just super helpful, but I could tell just really wanted me to enjoy my shopping experience. And she wasn't a "yes girl" - you know the kind I'm talking about who just pretend to like everything you pick up so you'll buy it? Not Emily! She said "oh that would be better tucked in" and stuck to her guns when I said "but wouldn't it be too bulky to tuck in?" and got me to see it really was better her way.. haha! DKNY better treat this young lady right because I know how hard it is to get an employee with her perfect balance of doing her sales job well but never making me feel "sold". She just made me feel pampered and appreciated to where I just wanted to keep shopping!! God bless Emily for making my day. Groupon- great price. We have rented tandem hydro bikes for…read more2 hours on Groupon. You have to call to make reservations for the Groupon. When we had to reschedule for a different date, and they were able to accommodate with no issue over the phone. For hydro bikes, we were able to bring our two dogs. They do not have life jackets for the dogs, but they recommend having your dog's harness, in a case they fall in. They do offer lift jackets for humans. They only had paid parking in the back and spaces were limited as it's shared with restaurants and people who come to fish here. The hydro bikes also has a place to put your water bottles and a small storage. We had great time renting from Disco. I think my dogs enjoyed it as well.
