Groupon- great price. We have rented tandem hydro bikes for 2 hours on Groupon. You have to call to make reservations for the Groupon. When we had to reschedule for a different date, and they were able to accommodate with no issue over the phone. For hydro bikes, we were able to bring our two dogs. They do not have life jackets for the dogs, but they recommend having your dog's harness, in a case they fall in. They do offer lift jackets for humans. They only had paid parking in the back and spaces were limited as it's shared with restaurants and people who come to fish here. The hydro bikes also has a place to put your water bottles and a small storage. We had great time renting from Disco. I think my dogs enjoyed it as well. read more

I've used this company twice and both experiences have been great. If you're worried about not getting a rental you can reserve online to be safe. Both times we were over by a few minutes and it wasn't any issue. The staff is very friendly and happy to share any tips as to where you can go in the bay. My partner and I returned to this location and brought our family to try hydro biking as well. They used the single hydro bikes while my partner and I tried the tandem hydro bike together. My parents enjoy biking so I wanted to let them try hydro bikes! From my past experience, an hour is enough to enjoy it so we got 1 tandem hydro bike for $30 an hour and 2 single hydro bikes for $25 an hour (each). As of June 2021, they only had 1 tandem hydro bike and I don't know if they plan on getting more. We reserved for earliest possible time at 10 AM, as I was worried it may get more hot throughout the day. This was a good choice as the life jacket made it feel more hot than it actually was. We mainly stayed around the harbor, but you can venture out and see the downtown skyline. The water was pretty calm, and I'd feel safe paddle boarding here too. Hydro bikes are very stable, so no concerns about falling or getting wet. We did not see any seals like I've seen in Mission Bay, so if debating between where you'd like to look for rentals I'd say it depends if you'd rather see city views or look for seals! They have lockers available to rent for $2. Parking lot was free. read more

The original plan is to Dine-in in this Plaza that we saw that has a few Restaurants while we were driving , but instead we end up getting in a HYDROBIKE first . This Hydrobike is cool 'coz theres no worries we will get wet by falling in the water coz its a Bike on the water . Perfect after Hydrobiking we were still dry and proceed to our dinner. We got 2 of the single Hydrobike and 1 tandem Hydrobike . They have a Life Vest that you can use ,i know theres no chance of falling but i still ensist for everyone to wear them just in case. I have been to OEX twice in the last month. The first time we rented paddle boards, the second we rented the hydro bikes. The customer service is awesome, very helpful, very quick. They are abiding by all Covid-19 rules and it felt very safe. This was a wonderful way to spend time with a friend, remain physically distant, while enjoying the beautiful San Diego sights. Had a blast hydrobiking in the San Diego bay. The lady who helped us was really nice, we rented two hydrobikes (one single bike and one double bike) from 330-430 and she let us come back a little late without charging extra. It's a little hard at first to learn how to turn the bike, I found t that it was easier if you didn't turn the steering handles too far left or right and backing out actually helps if you need to turn. It seemed very stable, never felt like the bike was going to topple over and it was actually pretty easy to bike. Felt like we got a workout from it, but if wasn't as tiring as paddleboating/paddleboarding. There's a little cubby near the steering handles that you can store a little bag. And there's cup holders. Would definitely do it again. read more

We ended up coming back around 2:15 since our arms were tired and it was a bit breezy out there, which made paddling even harder. We had a great time kayaking and the views are so nice from this location. We were very pleased with the customer service here and also noticed they were being very clean about disinfecting and cleaning supplies after each (COVID), which I really liked. Our trip to San Diego to celebrate my birthday last September wouldn't have been complete without participating in some sort of water activity. OEX Point Loma made this possible with the rental of four paddleboards for $88.00. We didn't use them for the full amount of time we had them available to us, mostly because it was a little windy on this particular September day, so paddling through the harbor took a lot of effort. OEX is a great place to rent paddleboards, kayaks, and/or any other beach gear. My friends and I went stand up paddleboarding, and this was the perfect place to do it. The staff is friendly and helpful. After doing paperwork, he took us down to the dock, got our boards on the water and helped us onto them. Unlike paddleboarding at a beach where you have to get the board past giant waves, here you can literally step off the dock onto the board and go! Super easy, and gives you a chance to figure out how to stand up if you've never paddleboarded before. The scenery is beautiful too: Once you get past the rows of yachts and out into the open ocean, you can see the entire downtown SD skyline and Seaport Village too. It was breathtaking, and so cool to be on a paddleboard and so close to the water. Sailboats, jet skis, and yachts zoom by every once in a while, creating some waves that threaten to throw your balance, but we had already tried paddleboarding out in La Jolla Shores, so this was no big deal. Be careful to figure out which way the winds blowing and the waves are going; we took 30 minutes going out (for an hour rental) and it took us about an hour to get back because we were paddling against the tide. OEX was super gracious about it, and charged us a minimal fee for being late, which we were happy to pay. Cheap prices, great service, and a beautiful view: I'll definitely be back soon! The bay it self was nice and a lot of people were there kayaking/padding or doing other water activities. The staff was really nice, it does get a little hectic so be ready! I work as a sales rep on the East Coast for a local San Diego brewery, yet I get to come back to my hometown every quarter for a sales meeting. Last time I visited, I saw OEX's SUPs on the dock, and I told myself the next time I was back I was going to SUP for the first time. IT WAS AMAZING!!! What a great place!! I found OEX by doing a bike rental search on my iPhone and was surprised to see it was the only place to pop up. While my mom was in town visiting we wanted to rent some bikes by the bay. We showed up and were greeted so pleasantly by the two gentlemen there.
