My registration renewal came with a smog inspection notice this year, so after searching online I went to a couple of places near my house only to find out they didn't do smog inspections. So, I turned to yelp, because I didn't get up early on a Saturday to not get this done! Pro Smog came up and had great reviews and was not too far away. It's kind of hidden away, but I am so glad I found them! The owner was very helpful and friendly. He got to work quickly and gave me some good advice on other automotive stuff, so I'll be back for sure. The woman in the office was very friendly too! They've been there for 22 years, and I understand why. I wasn't there for long (quick and friendly), but I feel like they were trustworthy and I'll go to them for any future car repair work or oil changes! read more

Was hesitant to try a new place--I've had the same mechanic for YEARS, but I was up against a deadline and was out of town, and needed to get my smog check in before the weekend. I called this place up to see if there was any way they could do the smog check and get me back in time--I only had my lunch hour to work with. The guy who answered assured me he could, and even had a sense of humor about it. I liked him already. Showed up to the place...be forewarned, a little difficult to find! Mind the street number and then drive in to the parking lot. Their stall is at the very end. Tiny place, friendly guy (his name was "Tu")...a bit of a dry sense of humor, but engaging nonetheless. There is a vending machine for sodas (only takes dollar bills), and a couple of chairs inside. I ate my lunch and sat on a chair by a shaded area outside. I showed up at 1230 and I was out of there by 1250...for a smog check! That included filling out the paperwork, paying, chit chat, etc. VERY IMPRESSED. By the way, they only take cash or credit cards. NO CHECKS. I feel like he may be hurting for customers since his location may be a bit of a handicap...so if you're in the area and are in need of fast, reliable and affordable smog check, this place is for you! read more

My boss has been taking her families cars to Pro Smog for all of their car repairs for over 15 years and recommended them to me since he is an honest mechanic with reasonable prices, he will not recommend services that you do not need. The Buick dealership did my 50,000 transmission service, according to the paperwork somehow they used some type of cleaning agent and managed to put 12 qts of transmission fluid in a transmission that holds 8 qts, and they did not replace the filter. Now 16,000 miles later my transmission was slipping, when I brought my car in to have an oil change and smog certificate and they found that my transmission was 2 qts low and the fluid was dirty and the filter was clogged. Pro smog did the job correct by removing the filter and draining all of the fluid, put a new filter in and put in 8 qts of fluid. When I was leaving I told him about my daughters car that has a check engine light on, he told me to bring it by and he will check it out free of charge and let me know what is wrong. Most places will change $80 for this. read more

THE ASIAN LADY IN THE FRONT IS BEYOND DISRESPECTFUL. I came in for a smog check and right away she said they had a lot of people. I did not mind I was ready to wait, no AC or waiting room u have to wait outside on random chairs, but I was mentally prepared. She asked me for my paper I gave it to her, she looks at it and says "60 dollars" before anything I just nicely and CALMLY asked her, how long would the wait be bc I was ready to call my friend to pick me up if In case it took too long, she says "60 dollar??!" I said I'm sorry but what is the wait time? Roughly? ... she gets up from her chair AND SLAMS MY PAPER ON THE TABLE TO SAY "I TOLD U ALOT OF PEOPLE..." as soon as she did that I just grabbed the paper from the table in shock at the disrespect, stopped listening & walked out telling her how rude she was. Wtf is wrong with people? THEY NEED TO CHECK THAT BITCH. No respect smh and this isn't anything towards her being Asian cause ya girls Chinese & I understand the culture & she was just plain disrespectful. read more

Came here to get a smog check for DMV registration renewal. Tu Do rules! Coolest little lady, she OWNS this place. Very straightforward but extremely friendly. They have 2 smog check machines so it was done very quickly even though there were 2 people in front of me for smog, and multiple other vehicles behind checked and fixed. $50 for smog check. read more

Horrible customer service, been there a handful of times and always recive attitude from receptionist lady. Not worth the service, can easily be done at any other mechanic for same price or even less. I must admit that before I got married, I had never taken my own car to get a smog check. Haha...benefits of a father who spoils me. It just so happened that my husband's car was also due for a smog check. We went by a location out on Euclid first. Arrived there around 10:30am and we were told there would be 31 cars ahead of us! Wasn't willing to wait that long. My husband called around other places and stumbled upon Pro Smog Check. This location was closer to our home and there wasn't a wait. We got our smog checks done on both cars right away and the mechanic who performed the smog checks was very friendly and talkative with us while we waited. Excellent! Cheaper than other places but most importantly they are honest! Kim said she needs to sleep at night so she does not cheat the system and she does not cheat her customers. The shop had my car done by the next day and completed all repairs like a pro (like the name says). Tu is a really good mechanic and knows what he is doing. He explains everything to you.
