Arrika is very professional and takes care of all her customers. She cares about hair and loves to make others love the style that she creates. She is reasonable and punctual, she does what she says and will not disappoint you. Word of advice if you are scheduled at 8 be there at 8. She does not like to keep anyone ALL day so therefore she's punctual, professional and is about giving you excellent services in a reasonable amount of time. She said, any appointments that are 10 mins late are rescheduled." it was still 4:08 it was an excuse as she was still working on someone else. She then gave me the option to be a work in, "maybe she would be able to call me back in 20 mins" or I would have to reschedule to another day. I had taken the day off for this appointment and her demeanor was very unprofessional.

I was floored - logic and hair!?! Had to be good. My hair is curly and very picky. Cut wrong, it's not curly anymore. And I don't goof around with my hair; the cut has to be great because that's most of what's happening, not gels, not blow dryers, not much styling by me. Life is too short. So when I say Larry does a great cut, believe it. Over the years, I've watched his knack for color - the results he gets alway, always flatter the person. He has a great eye for the right nuance of color. His salon is by appointment only, and it's just him and Kelly. The atmosphere is professional and comfortable. I've sent to him my friends who value a good cut enough to make an appt and so on. I can have total confidence that they will like Larry, Kelly, the salon, and their results. A few weeks ago, after reading the reviews and having been familiar with the Frederic Fekkai…read moresalons, I came for a 1" trim to my long-time, blunt-cut, medium-length (3 inches below the chin), slightly angled bob, beveled a bit underneath at the nape. It was quickly dried and styled in center or side parts, with lots of volume, lift and swing. Elegant and easy. Derek said he couldn't understand me. I should have left immediately. What I have now is an inexplicable cut, 2-5 " off, barely chin length, huge amounts of hair removed, wispy layers everywhere, and texturizing. He has activated a mass of waves and curls never seen before. From the front, the shape is a cartoonish wide diamond. From the sides, a fat wedge. This is the opposite of what is required for copious, European, fine, porous hair with a nape curl and minimal wave. Derek basically has created a White girl Afro. He somehow dried it beautifully, disguising the weird architectural structure by using a tiny brush on myriad narrow strands, drying them straight, and contorting them via elaborate manual sculpting techniques, product and nearly an hour of work. Maybe he planned to do twice-weekly blowdries on it. I have spent many days and dollars elsewhere experimenting with product, techniques and professional advice while attempting to cope. Derek pleasantly refunded the charges and apologized for the "inconvenience." This is far worse than inconvenient.
