That is how I found Pastel. She is as cute as her name. When I sat in her chair and told her my dilemma about my hair color and trying to get my hair healthy, it was like she spoke "Kristie". She summed up what I wanted and offered her solutions. She really listened and made sure we were both on the same page. Having a bad hair day can be traumatic, and trusting a new person to not EFF it up comes with some nervousness, but I was so comfortable trusting Pastel. I started with Blow in 2021 as a walk in and got a great cut/style with Ashley and continued working with her until she parted ways with Blow earlier this year. Yesterday I got a great cut and style from Janelle and was delighted to have the same amazing experience I had consistently had with Ashley. The stylists here are incredibly knowledgeable and share their expertise in a way that is approachable and applicable. They take the time to ask questions and essentially collaborate with you on the look you're going for and how to achieve it. The other thing I love about Blow is how their stylists consult/advise on different products and how to use them based on various things you're trying to work on with your hair at home. I have been going to this salon seeing a stylist for 3 yrs. I used to go to this salon 20+ yrs ago, and saw another stylist there, until I had moved away. About a year ago I had mentioned to my stylist, that I was having to travel out of town frequently. I recently went back to get my hair done after a year of not touching it, (since I always remained loyal to my stylist), and I was told that she was no longer there. (As well as, the other stylist that had been with them 20 + yrs also left.) Then I learned the super nice front desk gal, left as well! And then what they just recently put me through, unfortunately I could NEVER recommend this salon to anyone, nor go back. Long story short, (which is also what happened to my hair...lol!), things have indeed changed. I should've listened to my gut, and not given them a chance with another stylist, after finding out on the actually day of my appt., that they lied to me about not knowing where my stylist had moved to. By the time I found out, (through another, much more caring resource), and wanted to communicate to her in person of what happened, it was too late. So I'm left to know that whenever a salon leaves their exterior wall exposed to sheetrock for several months, and loses several of their staff, and lies to people about not knowing where they've gone, gives you a shitty cut, and then,... sets you up with more lies, so you cannot reconnect with your previous hairdresser, it's prob not much of an ethical place to do business with.. And another piece of information, I even tried to go back and allow, (apparently the co-owner), to fix my bad cut, and although they were barely willing, I still ended up being insulted after asking for his professional opinion, and he kept refusing, I finally felt like I had no other choice but to leave, and told him, "I guess I'll just leave then, & let it grow out". And he replied in a very snotty tone, "I think that is best"! So much for being a loyal, great tipping, customer! read more

Had a terrible experience. I was at this salon on July 16 on my birthday wanted to get my hair done for the birthday party in the evening. Attaching pictures of what I wanted and what I ended up with. A total disaster!! Had to rush back home a do my hair all over again for the party. They charged me $50 for that, I wouldn't even pay $5 for what they did to my hair. The stylist was more focused on selling products, she spoke to me about at least 4 diff products that She used on my hair. emailed them about the same. they suggested to make up for it and come in for the free service. With a name like Blow how can you go wrong? I got the "natural" french look for the toes which I really liked and just clean buff on the fingers. They serve you wine while you soak and have lively salon banter! For first timers you get to see "the book" of studs... hilarious memories of the 80's and what we used to think was hot! For those looking for gel on the fingers they have it here, takes about an hour so book ahead. Kevin Edwards did a phenomenal job on my hair! I had recently gone to another salon and even as an amateur I could tell the color and cut my stylist did was not up to par. When I set the appointment with Kevin and I shared with him my concerns, he confirmed that indeed I had gotten a bad hairstyle. Kevin did an all over highlight that was perfect and fixed the issues. He also educated me as he worked on my hair about treatments and products that could reverse some of the ill affects of the previous style. Because I told her this, and she said Warren the owner could squeeze me in the night before Thanksgiving. I jumped at the opportunity and now thankful I saw him. Before my hair was completely dry, I wanted to jump out of the seat to hug him. Such a kind hearted, easy going, and phenomenal person/ stylist he turned out to be. I would highly recommend going to this salon. I scheduled an appointment with Kevin and he is amazing. I have already scheduled my next appointment right after I saw how great the cut and color was. I asked for a cut, full highlight, and blow dry. Kevin took time with me and helped me decide what I really wanted. He was obviously very skilled and experienced. I love a good blow. Who doesn't? I realized that LA is just too far to go to get my haircut, my ends were split, my color fried and I was feeling all around blah. My friend goes to Kyle religiously, and I took a chance. I love love love it! For $48 (great price, btw), I got a fantastic cut, some tips on maintaining my curly locks and great chat time with Kyle. I called 2 weeks ago for an appointment and he was booked out until mid-August, which was kind of a bummer. I got on the cancellation list and was called within a week and a half to come in. Yay! I've had my hair cut by three different stylists (Warren, Kyle, and Rio) at Blow, and I've been completely satisfied with all of them. Each of them takes a very consultative approach, asking me what I want but also using their professional expertise to make sure I'm happy with the result when I don't know what to ask for. Blow has a nice, contemporary decor, and everyone who works at the desk is very friendly (especially George). This place is my home away from home. Michelle Ortega, my favourite nail specialist is the only person I would allow to touch my nails. She does not use drills on my sculpted nails. Nor would she ever dream about using drills. For those of you with pink and whites, this is not the place for you as the removal and fills of the pink/whites require drills. Michelle is extremely detailed with my nails, filing them to arched and tapered perfection and only painting them shades of ruby red. I made the mistake of thinking about pink and she set me straight; La Divina does NOT wear pink or anything like it! Michelle also does fabulous pedicures, which reminds me, it's past time for another one for my tootsies. Of note, like the previous review, it can be pricy, however, the attention to detail and the service more than makes up for it. If I break a nail or if I need a quick touch up, Michelle will not charge me for it. That kind of service is worth the price in spades. Michelle and Erica, another nail specialist, are both fantastic and fun ladies. It's an absolute riot every time I have an appointment and hilarity always ensues. We enjoyed wine, chatting with the staff, and checking out the new facial products. The spa is seperated from the salon and gives you the privacy and relaxation you need without the noise of blowdriers. Tips for going: 1) Can be pricey. But when you think about paying $50 for a mani-pedi, you'd end up paying the same at Blow, but without the usage of electronic tools. These ladies do not use any electronic tools. I've been going to London at Blow Salon for a couple of years now, and I'm so glad I found him after several years of so-so haircuts at other salons. I have extremely straight, thick hair, and he always does an excellent job (I never find any mistakes once I'm home) and I walk out extremely happy (and with really cute hair)! He pays attention to detail, and I never feel like he's rushing to move on to his next client. He also doesn't try to sell you products you that you don't need, which I really appreciate. The rest of the staff is friendly, as well. Scheduling appointments is easy, especially for weekday appointments, and they'll put you on a cancellation list if you want something on a Saturday but there isn't anything available in the immediate future (call well in advance if you do want a Saturday appointment). You'll always be offered a drink when you check in. I love the vibe of the salon; it's not uppity/snobby like many other places, and you don't feel as if you need to get dressed up just to get your hair cut. I just had by far the very best massage I have ever had in my 30 years of life and I am proud to say I was a first time customer of "Blow Salon" today and I got an hour long deep tissue session with Clay and it was more like 10 red stars instead of 5 red stars that "Yelp" gives you to choose from. I felt very relaxed on his table and he made me feel very comfortable the whole time of the massage and then followed up the massage with something to drink and personally escorted me back to the front of the salon. Kevin is a brilliant colorist with a Midas touch. I have natural dark brown/black hair, but started lightening it a few years ago. Add to this a non-uniform wave in thick hair, and I've had some massive hair disasters over the years, mostly due to overzealous thinning/texturizing. We came to Dallas from San Diego, and it had taken me 4 of our 6 years in San Diego looking for a stylist. Warren at Blow was the first stylist I went to and I couldn't have been happier with my choice.
