I hired Mark to clean the chimneys and also bought a now wood burning stove from his. I needed more help but getting a return phone call is impossible. After five months of hearing, he's very busy and will get back to you, I gave up. Too busy to return a phone call seems to be a common thread in the other reviews I read concerning Pro Sweep. After a fire in our fireplace, Pro Sweep Chimney and fireplace was contracted by Allstate to complete the replacement. Mark and Jordan did a great job, as they were finishing, Mark told us the fireplace floor was cracked and he would order a new one. Two months later he called and wanted the serial number for the replacement. I called Mark in August and he once again told me he would contact the comp y for the replacement and would get back to me in the next day or so. Today October 24th, he called my husband to tell him that the floor was in there.......Now we haven't seen Mark or heard anything since my call to him, so how can there be a new floor in there unless you believe in magic or someone doesn't want to make the trip here to complete the job. We paid a significant amount of money over the insurance company pay out and I am not satisfied........someone is taking advantage of us and my finger points to Mark. read more

Came out to clean chimney after chimney fire. Showed up on time and seemed professional. Even used drone to inspect chimney. Fire Dept recommended some repairs which Prosweep agreed with. Said they would call me once estimate was finalized. They Never called. I called them twice over several weeks. They promised to call me back each time, but never did. Disappointing because gave good initial impression. Ended up ordering parts myself online. read more

My wife and I purchased a wood burning stove over two years ago and called up ProSweep to come out and give us an estimate on the install. Initially, they were very prompt to get back to us. Shortly thereafter they came out to our house in Milford, PA to give us an estimate on the materials & labor. We came to an agreement on price and we we're eager/excited to have it installed and ProSweep seemed like the perfect people to do it. Then Mark and co just disappeared off the map. Crickets. Numerous calls and emails went unreturned. We eventually got fed up with their complete lack of communication and dropped the project altogether. It became too frustrating to even reach these people. It's apparent after reading reviews that communication is not one of this company's strong suits. Two years later we decided it was time to try again. I emailed Mark and informed him we'd love to move forward on the stove install. He responded within about an hour saying he'd honor his original quote and would be happy to have our business. He informed us it would be at least three weeks before they would be able to get to it. That was fine with us. When you've waited over two years, what's an additional few weeks, right? Once again, we were super excited to potentially get this project moving. Mark informed us he'd get back to us the next day with a contract and some info on platform bases for the stove. Cool. Just let us know how we can SEND YOU MONEY to get this project started. Crickets... Again! It's been 5 weeks now with not a single response to multiple attempts to reach them. This is business 101 stuff people. Customer service is not just lacking here, it's non-existent. Do you really think they've been on vacation or experiencing "server" issues all these years? My advice is to avoid the headache and try to find a company that makes you feel they want your business. If anyone knows of any reliable ones out here I'm all ears bc I'm getting tired of the sound of crickets. read more

At first seem professional, curtesy call before appointment and showed up at time window. Had our chimney cleaned and inspected 3 weeks ago, called the company 3 times and left voice mails for return call on inspection findings/estimates. No return calls, or any type of response. Just moved to town from Brooklyn and lets just say, I am learning a lot. So glad I had these guys come in to do a cleaning before I threw some logs on the fire and would most likely be utilizing my homeowners insurance way too fast. Mark was great on the phone and Jordan came right on time and went over everything I need to know about running a fire and the condition of the chimney, he did not miss a beat and made me realize that there are a lot of factors to take in account when running/maintaining a fire. STAY AWAY! After 25 years our beloved sweep retired and we found ourselves looking for a new sweep. Unfortunately, we landed on "pro sweep." Here are the facts : -Chimney "cleaned" on 9/14 -Chimney FIRE LESS than 90 days later -Fire Chief said, "this fireplace was not cleaned," and was shocked when we showed him the receipt of cleaning on 9/14/17. He asked for the name of the company that did the cleaning as he was alarmed by the poor job. -We had the chimney inspected by (2) other chimney sweep companies, who said the EXACT SAME THING... I'm looking at thousands of dollars in damage as a result. To add insult to injury, after I posted a detailed yelp review, the owner, Mark, threatened me with a lawsuit if I failed to remove the poor review (not kidding)... This is a direct quote via an email I received from the owner of Pro Sweep after I posted my detailed review "update your negative review...If no response is given by the end of this week Saturday December 30, 2017, you will leave me no choice but to take further action." Look, there are plenty of sweeps in the Poconos. Some are shady, but many are great. It is not hard to get CSIA Certified, so be careful and pick the right company. Take this review into careful consideration and move along to find a sweep that will spend more time cleaning your chimney, rather than threatening frivolous lawsuits. We have found a local sweep who will complete the repair work. They did a thorough inspection, offered different options, and gave a full and complete report. We are very happy. I called Mark yesterday in need of an emergency cleaning, but it had to be done by 2 pm so I could get to work. Today, Jordan showed up around 1145 and had me cleaned and burning by 1:30 pm. Before finding Mark, I had two chimney sweeps out to my house to diagnose a chimney that was leaking creosote into an upstairs bedroom. Mark spent almost two hours at my house diagnosing a problem the other two sweeps couldn't figure out. He gave me some suggestions for managing the problem until we decided on who we would hire to fix it. He even helped me vacuum out the chimney and checked our carbon monoxide detector before leaving. After witnessing his chimney knowledge, problem solving skills, and people skills, we knew we wanted to hire ProSweep to do the job.
