Often times, it seems everyone has a Chiropractor they would recommend. And let's be honest, most of them have some very odd quirks about them! Not always the type of characters you want to spend much time with. I met Dr. Cohen about 7-8 years ago from a referral because I didn't want the traditional 'crack' treatment; and he was one of the few in the area that offered other treatments such as the Activator, Graston, etc.. Dr. Cohen is an extremely down to earth person that I immediately felt comfortable with. He doesn't do a cookie cutter treatment plan, he listens, he understands, asks the right questions, then after explaining to me what he thinks is happening to me, will start the adjustments with techniques I'm comfortable with. At this point, he has full reign, I trust him with whatever technique he thinks is best. Once he solves the issue (and often times more!) that brought me to him, I may not see him for another couple years. Recently, I experienced severe tendonitis for 6+ months, no help from Kaiser...I then caught one of Proactive's newsletters and Dr. Cohen talked about a new device he was recently working with at The Olympic Training Center. Several years have gone by, and Dr. Cohen is still part of my wellness team. I recommend him highly. I was dealing with some pain for two months. I consulted with my primary care over virtual who said go see someone in person urgently. I ran over to Urgent Care in case it was a more serious issue, and the doctor at Urgent Care took X-rays and found nothing serious. He told me to rest and take Ibuprofen, which did not really address the issue and resulted in quite the bill. 40 minutes with Dr. Cohen, and I left the office feeling so much better than an Ibuprofen and more knowledge about what my issue really was. This year has been tough for everyone. Having the ProActive team in my corner during these turbulent times has been truly invaluable. Not only for COVID prevention and physical adjustments but in an area i wouldn't have expected. I'd like to briefly share why i'm so thankful for the ProActive approach and expertise this year. Growing up, I was always told by my primary care physician that I had genetically high cholestrol and I should expect to take medication when i got older. The idea of a prescription for life never sat well with me. Fast forward to 2020.... I've been taking cholesterol tests, tweaking my lifestyle and speaking with many doctors for the past 2 years to rule everything out before I accept that i simply have a genetic imbalance and will benefit from taking a drug for the rest of my life. I highly recommend Dr Nancy Chu. I had come in due to a lower back problem and she ending up fixing every problem I've dealt with my whole life. I had a left shoulder issue which two Chiropractors I've seen in the past could not fix. It hurt everytime I performed overhead presses or pull ups. After the first visit I was able to do those movements without any pain! The techniques she uses were almost like she was performing magic, after every adjustment my muscles would react normally. She was very thorough in explaining exactly why my muscles were not working in certain positions and why she was making certain adjustments. My lower back problem was resolved and I was also consulted to fix my posture when sitting and standing so this does not reoccur I could go on and on, but overall I've been extremely happy with my treatments and feel like I have more control over my body. read more

I am so glad and grateful that I started seeing Dr. Cohen. My appointments began two years ago after herniating a disc in my back. I'd gone to several other chiros and physical therapists with little progress. I was skeptical of the price but a friend insisted that I see him. Dr. Cohen was able to not just address some of the symptoms (back pain, soreness etc.) but help me figure out and work on some of the underlying causes (posture issues, muscle weakness/imbalance). The treatments/appointments are surprisingly short but they work! Particularly if you're in pain, they're worth every penny. After intensive initial treatments for my back, we scaled back to infrequent maintenance appointments.
