I have a built in retainer and they were charging $80 per tooth to fix which was a GOOD deal I thought until I was proven otherwise. I have had to get this retainer fixed over 2-3 times now since I started seeing them. Last time I saw them it was in August 2024, the prices were still the same ... $80 a tooth. NOW I'm apparently a "new patient" and they want to charge me $450 to fix one tooth. How am I a new patient if you've seen me before and have my file in your hand? The lady I spoke to on the phone last week told me it was around that price still $75-80 but today they told me "we increased our prices since then". That's outrageous. They don't care to help, they just want more money it seems.

After all this time, I have been going to my appointment and didn't missed once and they told me that I have to pay a fee of $50 for those times I missed. I told them, no thanks, I'll go somewhere else that have more empathy to working nurses that prone to get sick every now and then. My kiddo is on my insurance and we both are PPO and my mom is on medicare. We will take our business elsewhere with empathy and understanding. If you have PPO, they will treat you better than if you have state insurance. Be warn!

Staff are always pleasant and accommodating. Both the downtown Puyallup and Graham facilities are hip and well maintained. Since I am an adult with braces, the expectations may be different than the great majority of their patients. They spend good chunk of time during the work up phase prior to braces which made me feel like they were tailoring my regimen to me rather than to a set protocol. Probably the most important thing is that Dr. Larson and team spend an invaluable few minutes during each visit informing me of the goals for each interval before the next visit. Conveying the reason behind each tweak of my braces therapy gives me a good idea of what I need to focus on and what to expect for the 4-6 weeks before the next visit. For example, they tell me that they are placing a wire with a wider arch so that I can hopefully achieve a broader smile. Or, that I need to wear elastic bands to close up gaps between my upper and lower teeth when I have my mouth shut. Many doctors overlook the importance of adding that extra personal touch. Not Dr. Larson. I would recommend him and his team 100% of the time! On a side note, I can't believe that somebody gave Smiles a harsh one star because a visit had to be extended by a few weeks. Braces take time. The initial estimated time to complete is exactly that...an estimation. You got to go with the flow a bit more. I have no problem waiting many months longer so I can get the best final product as possible.
