This is not a safe place to have dental care! This dental clinic has steadily gotten worse over the years. The individuals at the frontdesk, in charge of the office running smoothly are rude and offer the poorest customer service I've ever dealt with when it comes to dental/health care. Some of the doctors (Dr. Lewandoski) are not focused on providing good dental care due to incompetence. In the last 3 years this clinic has placed an emphasis of making money by providing substandard dental care. I had to find another dental clinic to have my teeth properly cleaned even after I tried communicating my concerns with the Frontdesk. A new dentist had to address my dental concerns and addressed my teeth not being cleaned properly after 6 - 8 cleanings. The clinic drilled into my teeth, claiming I had a cavities and placed fillings that lasted only a year or so. This clinic and several others in Pierce county are owned by group of investors who seem to have little interest in patient care. read more

I was a longtime patient at Proctor (and Pearl) Family Dentistry, and after months of issues I had to switch. The office staff are mostly friendly and professional. But unfortunately I had a few experiences of being on hold for a long time and then having really unfriendly customer service. Plus a few experiences of staff not wearing masks properly, which is concerning (cover your noses!!!!) The dental assistant and dentist made a few mistakes with my care, resulting in far more serious issues. What started as an easy fix became a huge ordeal, after no dental issues my whole life. There are so many dentists available, I'm insured, and I don't have to settle for bad customer service or inadequate dental care - I switched to someone else. read more

I'm a new patient and am SO glad I chose this practice. I have lots of anxiety when it comes to dental visits and everyone was so understanding and accommodating. Kim gave me the most gentle, yet thorough cleaning I think I've ever had. And she and Sam made sure the x-ray process was as comfortable as possible. I had to come back for some fillings and Zakia and Dr. Northcutt were both so kind and went above and beyond to help me relax, which was very appreciated. read more

My car was broken into. I called to cancel my upcoming appointments. They charged me a cancellation fee even though I called several days before. They did a temporary bridge. That was TERRIBLE looking. The several appointments I had. The man doctor was nice and efficient. But the lady. Was skeptical (how are you skeptical when a patient tells you they got work done somewhere else) apparently if I have work done somewhere else. I'm required to report to them. Like it's their business where I get dental work done. This clinic. Does terrible work. And has no morals. None. When you call to rectify the situation. No one calls you back. Find a different clinic. This one is terrible. read more

This office is awesome! I appreciate these folks so much! I have chronic illness stuff which can affect my gum health, and this office is the first dentist I've ever been to that helps me treat my symptoms and provides me support and insight about about my condition so I can help plan for my health. Their dental hygienists are awesome about checking in with you during your cleaning and appointment (shout out to Kim! You rock!), and their front office staff is super helpful when discussing health plans and appointment times. Thank you, Proctor Family Dentistry! I needed a crown and I was told when I have paid the total amount up front I could schedule the procedure but when my husband needed a tooth pulled and a bridge no questions asked he was able to schedule his procedure without any money up front and make payments! We have the same checking account! We have been patients there for years as well as our children. I was a patient there well before my husband. read more

Took my dd son to have a cavity refilled (old one fell out). Dr Gewie(sp) sent corky to have another pull the tooth. The office gave us 5 numbers to call (3 of which did not work.) 4th number sent us to Peak Dental. We made an appt., went, they were mystefied why anyone would send us there. (extractions 1 time a month with 2 page waiting list) Peak called proctor dental group and told them his insurance didn't work for them. Went back to proctor office and asked them to contact someone who could help my son. They declined with a "we don't do that." I hope they don't bill my sons insurance (for doing essentially nothing) as I will contest the billing to the state and Medicare fraud. Never had such bad service from a purported medical provider.! read more

I first want to thank the reception staff!!! They are amazing!!! I've been in the Seattle area for the last month for work. Last week I woke up in extreme pain and was unable to make any emergency appointments at other offices. I called Proctor Family Dentistry and they got me in within an hour after calling. When I arrived I was greeted and the wait was maybe 5 mins due to having to fill out paper work. The staff in the back that took care of me are also Awesome and extremely caring. After the Dr. took a look he informed me that I needed a root canal and that it had to be done by a specialist. At first I was worried because I was in pain and still had a week before going back home. The Dr. Then explained that he would do his best to find someone in the area that could help and would be able to use my insurance. When I got back to the receptionist she informed me that they were not able to find anyone at the moment, but would give me a call if she found someone or if their specialist could squeeze me in before I went home. I was appreciative, but really didn't think they would call me before I left due to the short time frame before going home. The next day I got a call saying they had an appointment for me first thing in the morning. When I arrived once again I was greeted by their awesome staff and took me straight to the chair. The Dr. And the assistant made sure I was comfortable and explained everything to me before proceeding. I was so comfortable and numbed properly that I didn't even feel anything during the root canal, which was surprising because I have had bad experiences in the past!! I would without a doubt recommend this practice. They are amazing people who care and go out of their way to help!! The other reviews that have this place 1 or 2 stars with a long list of complaints are just a bunch of Karen's who just like to hear themselves talk!! THANKS PROCTOR FAMILY DENTISTRY you made my day today and changed my perspective on going to the dentist. I might just keep you guys as my primary and fly in to get future work done!!!!! read more

My family and I moved to Tacoma a few years ago and asked around who the best dentist in the area was. I'm so glad that we decided to give Proctor Family Dentistry a try because they turned out to be fantastic. They have two clean modern locations in Tacoma and the entire staff at both are very professional and friendly. We usually go to the location on Adams Street, and I know it sounds crazy but they're so nice that going to the dentist is now a fun thing. We've had cleanings, fillings, wisdom teeth extractions, and I'm about to get some crowns. I love that my whole family can all go here, and we've never had a bad experience. read more

These people keep harassing me to pay the missed appointment someone else. I call that dishonest. I used to bring my children there, my children have since grown and moved out. It seem one of my sons missed an appointment, and these people think I should be responsible to pay for the missed appointment. This is a year old man, he doesn't live in my house hold. they called me to confirm the appointment because the couldn't reach him... I told them at that time that he was and adult and didn't live with me any longer. I also told them that to my knowledge he wasn't working and had no car, so they shouldn't expect to see him. They billed me! I called and told them the same thing again. a month later I received another bill. To expect someone to pay the debts of someone else is just wrong. and all this after I have had to have oral surgery to correct a crown they botched. read more

Super experience! They numb your teeth before cleaning so you're extra comfortable. The X-rays are done in your own cubbie while sitting in your chair. Fast and efficient! The hygienist (Kim) was fantastic. She was kind, gentle, and nimble. My teeth feel great and I'm looking forward to my next cleaning! read more

The Doctor who's supposed to do a surgery on me suddenly felt nervous and incompetent the day of surgery. Then he suggested for me to ether reschedule or get a second opinion. If I am to invest my $ on surgery w/o insurances' help, I need to know that the surgeon is competent. Also, their receptionists seems very disorganize. So I am going somewhere else. I'm new to this office due to my insurance changing and I'm so happy it all happened! I was nervous at first, does anyone like HAVING to switch doctors? No. But it was a total blessing in disguise! The office itself it's big and comfortable. It's pretty nice, nothing over the top and ridiculous. It's comfortable and so clean. I used to be a dental assistant so i feel like I notice more than your average patient. And it totally has my approval. Everyone I have come across has been so nice! Just genuinely nice. This Dental office takes several insurance companies so my entire extended family will be transferring to this office. Every appointment I have ever had has been a really GREAT experience. All the ladies in the front are very helpful with all the insurance issues and working me in for appointments. They are even open on SATURDAYS!!!!! They also have a second location located on Pearl street. The DR. was very welcoming and able to get my family the care they needed. read more
