I've giving this a 2 star review as my service was subpar the receptionist was nice however it was once I got in the chair the stylist whose name I don't remeber asked me what I came in for I told her and she said "no that won't look good on you" and all I asked for was a inch off simple trim but she insisted it would look "ugly" on me being above my shoulders. I've had this cut done a million times so I knew what I was in for. I had to beg for it and when she finished she says "let me guess your gonna cuss me out" which NO I was not she did a great job and when I compliment med her she acted like I was lying even when I tipped her to say thank you she says wow I didn't think it looked that good by ok. So I'm on the fence as to weather I would return I might give them a second chance but just a little off putting for this stylist to act that way. read more

Great place, I go here all the time. Quick, affordable, good haircut. They should update their web site if they plan to remain closed on Sundays, the note on the door doesn't give the customer much notice given he/she has already driven there (web site says OPEN NOW). Hi, Walked in Sunday at 4:30 with half hour til closing. Was told no more walk ins even with a buzz cut of 1 on top and 1/2 on sides and square back. Only saw 1 person waiting in lobby but told there were 3? Not sure where the other 2 folks were..... This place had been great but really cant understand how they could not squeeze me in. It takes 10 minutes tops to cut my hair. Just pure laziness...especially on receptionist 's part as she just said sorry and did not even ask anyone if they would do it. I recently went in for a quick trim and the receptionist was incredibly rude right from the moment I walked in. I said "Hi, how are you?". she said "My day is going good so far. are you about to ruin it?" All the while staring down at what I assume was her phone. I was dumbfounded having been perfectly pleasant to her. I asked if I could give my name for a quick trim. She seemed annoyed by that. I then waited for a bit and was called in. The woman who trimmed my hair was very nice. But when I left I paid the receptionist and said "Thank you". She never even looked up at me, nor did she speak. Horrible first and last impression. I took my 92 year old mother here to get her hair cut since she insisted. BIG MISTAKE. She came out with patches of her scalp with no hair and her hair 1/2 inch long. the hair near her ears was standing out because is was not cut or trimmed. Yup, not closed at all! Went today. I was once again pleasantly surprised by what a good job they do for an amazingly low price. I was in desperate need of a cut and something to be done with extremely grown out roots. Opted for a full head of highlights/foils to help blend what I had. Donna, my colorist/cutter spent over an hour covering my entire head with what seemed like dozens of foils and then put me under a real stand-up hair dryer. She monitored the foils continually, and removed them in stages to get the desired look. Even without the cut, I could tell it looked a ton better. Then we went for a modified bob with a good number of layers -- the cut addresses all the cowlicks I have in funny places, gave me the volume I wanted, and looks absolutely great! I'm really happy. Donna doesn't chat much, but I don't mind because she is really concentrating on what she's doing. I've had other cutters there as well, and so far all of them were good. Best part, the whole shebang was about 1/3 of what I would have paid at a "discount" salon in NYC. So, verdict is: Cape Cod is a very hard place to find a decent and affordable pedicure in the winter (that's another story), but Pro-Cuts and Donna make it an easy place to find great and affordable hair cuts and color processes. PS -- They have coupons and sales to make it even more affordable and the Tea tree products they sell really work to keep the dandruff at bay. read more

I have never had a worse experience in my entire life. I walked in, got in a chair right away. Ask for a simple men's hair cut, and it was all down hill from there. The guy used the wrong clippers on the side of my head so and then continued to use the same clippers on the top of my head. This wouldnt be an issue if i were 12 years old and asked for a buzz cut (wiffle). The problem is i asked for a men's regular hair cut. When i felt the top of my head in the back, I almost had a panic attack and told the dude to stop what he was doing. I wondered, how the hell did this guy get a job cutting hair? what are the qualifications? In a fury, i went to the desk, made the mistake of giving the receptionist 15 dollars and i was out. The reason i left so fast was so I could find somewhere to fix it as quickly as possible. I drove down 6A and everywhere was closed so i went back to Pro cuts to ask if they could fix it. They said that the same guy who butchered me in the first place could try and fix it and i basically laughed in their face. They said that everyone else was busy. I asked for my money back. the girl who was behind the counter insisted that they couldnt give me my money back but told me they could call the other pro cuts to see if they could fix it. I asked where it was and she said FALMOUTH (40 miles away). i wasnt about to drive 40 miles to get a mistake that THEY made fixed. I left before I lost my cool and found a woman walking out of some salon down the street. She said they were closed and i basically begged her to fix me. She clearly understood the severity of the situation as she rushed me to the chair as if i were a gunshot victim in the ER. She worked her magic and did the best she could to fix it. Went in looking for a cut from Becky, who had cut my hair previously. I requested her again, as she had given me a good cut before, I was told it would be about 10-15 minutes. After ten minutes, Becky came to the desk and conversed with the appt. person for about twenty minutes. A woman came from outside proclaiming, "I'm back!" Becky proceeded to take her back to her station, without a word to me. That was a half hour I'll never get back, and a feeling of complete disrespect. I'll never be back. read more

Coming down from Boston where I paid crazy money for highlight and cuts, I am so happy. I love Lira who does awesome cuts but can't do highlights or colors due to her allergies. So I go to Kathy for my highlights. They are the best I've ever had. So natural that they grow out without the awkward phase. You can make appts for colors/highlights but cuts are walk-in. However, you can ask for a stylist for your cut but you might have to wait. read more

I don't really understand their policy of "you get whatever hairstylist you are next in line for". Not all stylists are equally talented for the type of hair you have, or the cut you want, or in general... this seems like an enforced averaging out of talent, and doesn't allow really great people to rise to the top through repeated booking. The person I just spoke with said she couldn't recommend a particular stylist for my case because she wasn't allowed to per salon policy, that you get what you get when you arrive. This is without doubt the cheapest haircut in town. You might think therefore that the hair cuts are mediocre or no good. For men at least the haircuts are perfectly fine. The young ladies use a technique by which tufts of hair are picked up between 2 fingers and trimmed by scissors. This seems to give a neat and presentable haircut. For 14 dollars, with a 1 dollar discount, ( if you have a coupon which they give out after each haircut) you definitely get your money's worth. I cannot of course speak for ladies' haircuts. My wife went there as an alternative to her $99 usual hairdresser. She reports the cut was well done and stylish, but the curl didn't last (on Wednesdays the price is currently $11, so not much lost in any case). read more

I've been going to ProCuts in Orleans every few months for the past 2 years and had no issues but I usually don't want that much maybe two inches off and my hair thinned because it's extraordinary thicknd grows ver fast(I've had 9 inches taken off this year alone, and its still almost a foot and a half long. Now I go in today and I have this girl and she can't even bother to smile at me and I'm like 'okay maybe she's just really focused'. She cuts the two inches off and then takes 5 swipes at the back of my hair with thinning shears while its combed flat and says "hows that?" ...are you kidding me. Im used to them making the effort to thin a small poodle off my head. So i smile and i say well if "you could pull half up and thin the under growth I think that'd be okay." "What do you mean I thinned it." Now I'm thinking she's never thinned anyones hair before. And who thins their hair straight across like youre following a line? She tries again...I wasn't going to cause a scene and try to say anything a second time so like an idiot I payed for it and left. Looking at my hair with my glasses back on and its super thick around my shoulders and feels a little thinner below that. The worst men's hair cut. You're better off cutting your own hair. I only sat in the chair 4 minutes for the cut and the woman cutting my hair said she was finished. She didn't trim my sideburns, cut around my ears, trim the back of my neck, etc. When I asked her to trim the sideburns, she quickly did some cut and said that was it. She obviously was not interested or skilled in her profession. Normally I frequent other barber shops in the area, however, they were busy so I thought to give ProCuts a try. What a mistake. I would rather wait 2 hours at another barber shop than go to ProCuts again. read more

A nice woman cut my hair and did a great job. In fact, I've received many compliments on my haircut, something that doesn't happen to me. These compliments prompted me to write this review. Went in for haircut at the Orleans, MA Procuts on May 25 at 5.30ish. Was assigned to someone near window close to entry, who I believe was relatively new. She proceeded to give me the roughest and fastest haircut ever. It seemed like she was actually trying to inflict a little discomfort and she couldn't wait to be finished. Seemed annoyed when I asked her to take a little more off. Zero personality, and unpleasant attitude. Shouldn't be working with people. Haircut turned out very uneven. In the past I have been having my hair done at some rather expensive beauty salons on Cape Cod thinking that I would get the best results by paying more. For a few years I drove 40 minutes each way for my monthly cut & color! Once or twice I remember realizing that I could have bought a new washing machine for the price (including tip) of my highlights, touch up, cut & condition! And then I bumped into Procuts in Orleans. I was referred there to Caitlin who changed my horrible haircut into one that made me very happy. She listened to my needs and I was amazed at how she caught on so quickly to what I wanted my hair to look like. She did a great job on my touch up & blow out too. Months later I had a standing date on Friday nights and Caitlin doesn't work Friday. She told me that Donna would do a great job on my hair so I made an appt. with her and wow! I couldn't have been happier! Now I have Two FANTASTIC hairdressers and they don't mind when I switch back and forth! I especially love the way Donna does my blow dry. I have long thick hair and she doesn't rush it. It lasts for days and makes me feel so pretty. UPDATE! Donna Trani is now at Unique Salon and Spa in Hyannis! What will I do without her??! read more
